i have killed atleast 50 or more kodiaks and black bears and have only got 2 HQ bear pelts i got around 70 platt for both dont know if it is worth the wait.
I've never seen one. Or maybe I've seen one but mistaken it for a kodiak and not botherd to check the name? Oh well, are they on the runney eye side of the wall?
Will I pay 20pp for a HQ pelt, sometimes, if I think the person selling it needs money and is relatively low level. Why? First of all, there is not a good market for 10-slot bags that are only 10% reducing and weight 3 stones. Why is that? Because I can go to Iceclad safely at nearly any level and purchase a 10 slot toolbox for 9pp that weighs only 3.5 stones and 0% wt. reducing. There then is no reason to expect any but the most foolish of players to pay 100pp, 80pp, or even 20pp, for a bank slot increasing bag.
How about its wt. reducing and carrying items? First it is only 10% wt. reducing. Should be enough said, but for those that have a few moments more than thinking capacity, evil eye bags are 8-slot 70% reducing and cost 300-350 pp. Herbalist bags are 25% and 6-slot. Many other containers can also be looted far more reducing then 10%.
Now let's couple some of this with the idea of many items that need to be stored that weigh 0.1 stone. You need the slots but don't even notice any weight reduction at all! And a master looter, porter, whatever, will be greatly encumbered filling a 10-slot bag with FS weapons or Brass Armor, hence will be walking to sell in WC or Highpass Hold Keep long before his slots are filled.
Recommendations: Carry the much lighter 0.8 stone 6-slot 10% wt. reducing bags until you can get your sewn evileye bags or herbalist pack or other quested, looted wt. reducing container. Use a cheap 10-slot deluxe toolbox or two for your many tiny wt. items and an 8-slot sewing bag for those infrequent giant-size items. Let's math it out if you need help here. 7x3=21 leaving 1 slot for a light source or other item that needs looting. This is filled with 10-slot bags. 4x0.8= 3.2 + 4 (sewing kit) + 2x3.5 = 7(toolboxs) =>3.2+4+7=14.2 saving nearly 7 stones in weight. To make the 10% bags save you 7 stones you would need to carry 70 stones in your toolboxs and sewing kit! You still have 24 slots in the 4 6-slot bags that you could have put all that heavy stuff inside and still have the 10% wt reduction.
Moral: A fool and his money is soon parted.
So buy your sewing kit, kill spiderlings, make cords, kill bears and get LQ pelts and save your money. You will be richer in pp, talent, and satisfaction, and still carry more items than you can bear. Can't find any thing but those silly MQ and HQ pelts? Combine with a skinning knife in your sewing kit until LQ. Patiently save your pp to buy the evileye bag, or hehe, get some pleasure from looting your own.
Would I buy your pelts? Maybe, but not to make money, only to help you as you struggle to play untwinked. I personally know no one dumb enough to waste 100pp for a tailored backpack. Yes they might still exist, but I just do not feel comfortable about ripping other players off. Hehe I get ripped enough to know how it feels.
HQ bear pelts go for around 40pp any lower and youl be getting ripped off. but it is so hard to find 1 that actually has it i would go with kodiaks instead.

These do not ruin a druids faction. Killing animals of any kind is somewhat against the role-playing of a druid but will not hurt the druid in any way.
I heard that as a druid you shouldn't kill bears of any kind because it ruins your faction. Can anyone verify that? I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
These HQ pelts go for 20 to 25pp in the East Commonlands, tailors are constantly auctioning at these prices for them. I imagine you could hold out for more but I have seen these same ones auctioning for pelts turn around and auction off the 10 slot backpacks for 80pp
if you're concerned about a fair (and good) price for your pelts, look at what tailor made backpacks are running for. (On cazic thule, this was 200p-250 last week) Collect two pelts and trade them for a backpack. A master tailor has perhaps an %80 success rate, and should be able to make a backpack 4 out of 5 attempts. This means that trading for two pelts will average a 30% profit for the tailor, and a nice profit for the hunter.
I certainly do not have the highest level characters, or the most time played, but I can say one thing - I have played many lower level characters on many servers in East Commonlands. My experience is this - if you want HQ pelts you should BE A NEWBIE. The chances of getting HQ in my experience drop dramatically after around level 12 - 15. Never mind the weapon or spell you use. If you are lower level your chances are much, much better than if you are higher level. I know that VI has said that loot is determined at mob creation not death or looting, but I suspect that there is still newbie-helping code in there that ruins many HQs higher levels would get. The odds go from around 10 % for lower characters to around 3 % for my higher level characters. So please test my theory. I'd like to hear other's opinions. Make a newbie and keep him hunting all black bears and only black bears for the HQ pelts.
I have killed hundreds of the bears. There pelts are gold i tell ye! GOLD!i have made much money selling them. rare though but that what makes them sell good....money..must make more money...
Thank God Cazic Thule serve isnt that insane. But of course the drop rarity has something to do with it too, Ive not actually purchased one for about 20 levels now. But the price of backpacks has went up as well, from 50pp (back in the day) to 120pp and up, so I recant my earlier statement, by all means if you can sell HQ bear pelts for 25-35pp, then do it. I might start a first level character just to hunt bears now that I know this
Well recently the price is about 45pp each.I can understand why a "/auc WTS HQ bear skin 25pp" would quickly be bought.Once I sold one for a nice profit of 55pp.Thanks to spending some time in the eastern auctionlands.
I held on to three HQ pelts, my tailoring skill not being high enough to worth making anything, when someone put an /ooc request for pelts. Sold all three for a total of 120pp :) Thats my lvl 12 spells paid for hehe.

Yes, 20pp is the going rate. I started buying at 15pp, but quickly found other master tailors bidding 20pp and raised my price to match. Although I don't make a huge amount selling the backpacks (lack of supplies) I always auction for them when I can.
