Southern Moorwalker conned white to me.
Had my merc healer watching out for my hit points...just in case.

You've gotta wear the Moorwalker down to somewhere around 49% life for your Moorwalker Runestaff to work;OR you will continue to these words: "The Moorwalker is too strong! It must first be weakened before the Moorwalker Staff will lull it into hibernation."
I used Malaisement > Listless Power > Envenomed Breath > Winter's Roar & a few swings with my weapon. My pet was a little helpful too.
Once at around half life...keep clicking on your Runestaff & you'll soon get "Task completed" & see Moorwalker lay motionless on the ground. That's it!! I believe it'll be wash, rinse and repeat with the other 3 monsters that are left to the quest.

If you have a pet, be sure to make it stop attacking once you put monster to sleep.
Make sure your DoT's wear off the monster too.

Killed this guy twice. Second time he dropped Loop of the Ravaged...Ear slot item int 6, wis 6, agi 6, dex 6, char 6, AC 12, HP 20, Mana 25, Cold 3, Pioson 3, Disease 3. First time he didnt summon...second time he summoned once before I dropped him with my (at the time 48 shaman) with war merc and pet unbuffed.

Was strolling around Blightfire Moors upon my steed after escorting a young ranger to PoK book and saw this big guy. Conned him and he conned yellow to me,(mage) at 32. Thought... ooohhh EXP!Smiley: yippee Well with fm, earth pet & clr merc with me we attacked!

This guy hits for 224, with avg hit around 125. He resisted Blaze, resisted Rain of Spikes and kept on pounding on me. But I kept on nuking, pet kept on attacking and taunting and merc kept on healing. Down to 4% mana I thought it best be time to RUN, (no shame in running away I always say) Smiley: grin Then BAM!!! The dang thing SUMMONED ME! 3 steps forward and 2 steps backwards I kept on running. Thank the gods PoK book was near by or it would have been a total wipeout!
Smiley: deadhorse
Beware to all who THINK they can take him if he cons yellow!

PS Always RESEARCH the mob BEFORE you attack! Smiley: banghead

Just my Smiley: twocents on the matter.

Short decay

Took him on with my 43 Beastlord, and he got my health down to half way. My pet and I whooped him, but did not come away unscathed. He conned blue to me as well. I ice speared, tainted breathe and kick my way to victory, along with my pets inferno. He dropped absolutely nothing and his corspe decayed within seconds...it was weird.

Ran into one of these on my 35 sk. It was an even con so I decided to try it. It hits upto 200 with most hits in the low 100s and it summons.

went back at level 36 to try kill buzzabar and got to close to southern moorwalker (your right it said slumbering the first time) who then aggro'd on me and whooped my butt. Had SoW on and hit him with Darkness spell and still couldn't out run him. Hit too fast to get my DOTs out and when I got to PoK book he summoned me back. Got away with 45 HP left. I hate learning the hard way. Did the same with Reeking Skunk over in Tox Forest and then found out he was a quest NPC. (didn't get away from the skunk though)

tried every spell (Lvl 25-31) and it didn't effect it at all. It didn't even come after me - they just slid right off. Tried about 20 times before I got tired of having to rest and regen. He looked slow so I was hoping to kite some xp.

that's because these moorwalkers are part of a quest where you are supposed to use a certain wand from questgiver to put them back to slumber. what you saw was a "Slumbering Moorwalker". somebody had already put that 1 to sleep. There are 4 alltogether. The slumbering Moorwalkers are not affected by anything i believe. they just roam around sleepwalking.
