Soloed today on my 85 ranger with T5 mercenary. All it took was a couple minutes and easy kill otherwise. Just popped AAs occasionally to speed it up and help on heals a bit. Nothing too hard now adays. But I got the Ring and 2 runes.
Was able to kill with Ranger, Ranger, Shaman (all 85) with Teir 5 mercs (Tank on Shaman and 2 cleric mercs.) I was boxing the shaman while wife was playing other ranger.
Biggest problem was being ported onto the platform in the center of the room.
I had to run the shaman to one of the doors and put the merc on passive to get the mob(s) back out of the water and on top.
Second problem was the adds, but most of them were Headshotable, so they went down quick.
Fight took about 8 minutes. Would have been much faster if we didn't have all the other problems. Parser showed at least 824k hps done to mob, so guessing about 1m hps total.
Dropped Verok's Sprig of Condolence and 2 runes.

We were just playing with him to see what he was like. 2 shamans, 1 warrior, 1 SK. Got him to 87% (around when the adds from the eggs started to spawn), and everyone but the SK got hit by the fear (fearless SK), SK dropped, killed a shaman, killed the warrior, killed the other shaman. Perhaps he shoots this off if eggs hatch? Distinctively saw Ritesmaster Verok begins to cast a spell. <Panicked Spirit>
He does not summon at all. The last shaman ran him around a bit. SK was about 3.3k ac, 17.4k hps (with campfire). Max hit was about 2460 which i saw on my shaman. Lowest hit i saw on my warrior was 630.

Tried this guy tonight and as soon as we engaged him about 20 spiderlings added and he was at 97% when raid wiped totally was not prepared for that surprise.
You have to get pet classes to Attack the Spider Eggs that are up top, they are like one level above you..just target, get near the wall and sic pet :)
Pathing for your pets is the most important thing to pay attention. You'll know the pet is finally in the right position because it will start taunting the egg you are trying to get it on. I hope this helps.
~shrug~ I knew about people killing the eggs with pets before Serano mentioned it in other posts. I turned toward help here though since I was having problems with that. Thanks for the tip though and again thanks to Serano. I have a new respect for the Allakhazam community.
(Update), killing eggs worked. Simply getting closer to them is all that is needed.
Thank for you the detailed post Serano. My guild and I are still scratching are heads as to how to get our pets up there though and how to get them to attack the stupid eggs. The very first time we tried Verok we could not get them up there, no matter how hard we tried. Are we missing something?
I don't think our pet classes are doing anything special - they target the egg - go under it and hit pet attack /shrug - I haven't actually played a pet class on that encounter myself to know of any difficulty in sending them
Remember Verok has to be at 94% before the eggs spawn (and presumably needs to stay under 94% ) stop all Damage to verok except for MT aggro on The V man - and send all the pet classes to the eggs- they can assist each other if they are having targetry problems. We use everything - SK pets, boo-boo bears - Shamen wolves - everything for those eggs They don't seem to fight back.
I don't remember the exact percentage that spawns the first wave of 'lings - but we got Verok down to 88% the other night before we got all the eggs deaded - and the lings didn't start.
THE VERY first time we learned this encounter we got Verok down to about 3% before the last wave of more powerful 'lings finally overwealmed us - that was when a mage reported being able to fight the eggs with his pet as soon as they poped - and we learned.
We'll try it again. We did have Verok between 88-94% though when we tried to send pets to eggs and the pets would either not do anything, or attempt to run up and then return. We wouldn't have been able to send pets too early of course otherwise since the eggs wouldn't appear. We sent them as soon as we could try. As 70 shaman, had same trouble other pet classes reported. Do they have a lot of hp?
I think we had the most problems getting pets on the eggs last night than we had in a long time - but eventually they get up there. INteresting thing - last night was the first time I think we saw eggs respawn. Maybe part of the event is that if all eggs are not down within X time of each other they start respawning - They didn't all respawn at once- and even tho we had to fight some babies eventually all the eggs got killed.
The below poster nailed it in regards to pets on eggs. We have somewhat kept this event to ourselves for a long time but since someone else has posted the exact strat we use - not really any secret ( does EQ need secrets?)
So the bottom line.
Clear room up until Verok
Attack verok until Eggs pop at 95 - 94 % -> take off DPS on verok and have pets kill the eggs. Killing the eggs prevent having to fight the ling's that would otherwise spawn. OH and to answer the question on WHY. If you kill the eggs with the pets between veroks health of 94% and before Verok hits 88%(?) then NO SPIDERLINGS spawn - making the event cake. Lets just hope that the devs didn't intend on this and read this post and then "fix" verok. We have not been able to find anything else to damage the eggs but player pets.
We have foughtwith this with bug where after someone's fail the 'lings didn't despawn and it took us a couple differant days to get rid of the extra lings that shoulda depsawned with the fail - but I think that was just a script bug. That is why someone might have had a crapload of bugs 2 posts below. To reset the event (and Yoshi don't hate me for doing this) Have a monk pull a single Verok THRU his door - and FD. When the monk gets a mem wipe - the spiderlings left over from the last persons fuxored script should despawn.
hey and good looking out - the Greater runes were removed per my below post - grats mods, good work - I forgot to submit the correction to you.

So...can you kill the eggs with pets or not? One guy says you can another says you can't and neither explained why you would want to use pets to do it anyway.
Tried this guy for the first time last night, though for some reason we had a crap load of spiderlings spawn 5 seconds after we pulled him. I'm not sure if this is normal or if the event is only bugged on Xegony.
Yes after the first couple dozen times we did get faster. Finnally noted someone else on maelin is farming this guy now.
OH and for those that read the other loots there: Jagged Coral Sledge Trapped Shiliskin Spirit Shiliskin Infantry Collar
he doesn't drop those - those just dropped incidentally on the same raids - high priest wandered into camp sometimes and the trapped shiliskin spirit by best estimate is a ultra rare zonewide drop. and it didn't drop from Verok.
Max hit non defensive 2342, warrior tank, 10% shielding. Min hit 634. Proc Dire Scream 10 times in 350 seconds, my parse ends when I died with it at 30%. Average melee DPS on my warrior (level 70, 13.6khp/2.2k AC buffed, 10% shielding, 55 avoidance, Luclin and PoP defensives) over the 6 minutes, half of which /defensive was 987.
Hurl of Rathkan goes off every few seconds but doesn't seem to be an AE as I never noticed being thrown around, just saw it in my logs. It is possibly random target, no way to tell.
Crowd controlling this fight tends to end in bloody disaster. It's actually significantly more simple than it seems at first.
Pull the room until it's empty, excluding Verok.
At 95% the doors to the exit of his chamber will close. Take all DPS off of him as soon as he hits 95% or the eggs will hatch. Use PETS to kill the eggs. Don't even bother trying to get anyone else up there. Once they're dead, go for him again. About halfway dead he starts AE fearing which is a rare occurance. It's just straight melee after the first wave of eggs are down more or less. I'm sure it depends on how fast he drops as to how many waves of eggs spawn. I only recall one.
Twenty or so time-geared slackers and five minutes later = dead spiderman.
If in a worst-case scenario you get repops or the eggs hatch, everything in the room can be mezzed.
Did you have to clear the spiders in the room before engaging him or are they the adds during the fight? Do they respawn during the event if you have to clear them?

The drachnid spiders in the room are not the adds. And yes, need to clear the room before engaging Verok. These drachnid spiders will respawn. Tho' they've never popped on us during the event.
When Verok's HP is down to certain percentages ( sorry I forgot ), A few Spider eggs will spawn. And soon, mini spiders ( look like the ones in Lavaspinner's Lair ) will hatch and attack. These are the adds.

Killed it last night with a raid force of around 30 peeps. We are not Qvic flagged.
This raid is quite similar to the DoN raid event, Rampaging Monolith. The adds will come in waves when Verok's HP is at certain percentages.
The mini spiders are level 70 but with very few HP, so they are pretty easy to kill. They will charge the healers at first most likely, ie. the clerics, druids and shamans; and folks with low HP.
Besides the AE Fear, Verok also casts AE Gravity Flux.
It dropped a caster wand ( Verok's Sprig Of Condolence ) and 2 glowing runes for us last night. I have sent in the pic of the wand already.

P.S. Unlike the other mobs in the room, Verok can't be pulled out of his lair. He will warp back to his spawn spot. Thus, the raiders have to fight him inside his lair.
Once Verok is engaged, the doors will come down and seal the place. Until either Verok or the raid force is down, the doors will then open up again.
