I have killed over 40 bull alligators now and not found a single skin. Passing time and just being thourough, I've killed well over 100 other alligators as well. All this just in Innothule swamp. I'm not even counting gators in other zones that I've hunted on the off chance they may drop the skin.
I see several people saying that, while somewhat rare to come by, they have found skins. I see several more people saying that they have hunted for hours on end with no sign of them. Is it possible that certain servers are bugged and simply don't drop the skin?
FWIW I play on Mith Marr and have yet to see a skin. Nor has anyone in any zone I've auctions/ooc/shouted that I will buy them even admitted to finding one. Unless its no drop, I would have expected at least one person to have it banked simply knowing how rare they were, but not a single person I've come across seems to have found one.

You can generally find these critters in the northeast corner of the zone around the undead tower.

The bull is a semi rare spawn with the fat being a little rarer, I find that j`killing all the swamp gators i can find seems to speed up bull repop,maybe they are place holders or maybe its my frustration that makes my mind want to believe that,7 hrs straight over 80 bull,s and unknown fats and still no skin,if I hear one more person say he found one killing a bull while going through swamp im going to explode:)

Same here I hunted and killed everything with the word alligator attached to it and still no skin.

I have had the skin dropped by both the fat gator and bull gator. Took about 30 of the bulls and 2 of the fat ones.

I also killed the Fat Alligator 3 times but didn't get the skin from him. Will have to try him again i guess.

I killed about 30 of these before it dropped the skin. Yep i used it to get the Skull cap. Very sweet item for my druid.

These beasties DO drop skins....just super rarely. If ya want one for the cap, I suggest paying 30-50p for one from a fellow player...

Hiya, as a native son of da swamp, I can tell you dat the skins DO drop of both the bull alligators and da fat alligator. I've personally gotten 2 skins off bulls and 1 off da fat. However, the skin is a rare drop. I've killed gators by the bushels and still kill them when running by them even at 29th lvl. The skin is rare so stay with it.

Within the past week I have gotten the alligator skin needed for the leatherfoot Raider Skullcap off of a bull alligator and off of a fat alligator in Innothule swamp.

The fat gators drop lots of low level stuff. I've gotten patckwork, bronze weapons, rusty weapons, Norks arm and rations. No skin though

I have killed perhaps 200 of these with 3 diff guys and gotten 1 skin as loot
and purchased 3 from other hunters -

Skins definatly come off these gaters though they may also come off Fat Gaters

Actually, the severed ogre arm (Nork's arm) is dropped by a critter called the FAT alligator... about level 9-11 in range and, of course, rarer than the bull variant

Now this dude is a questor, he drops the ogre half eaten ogre arm for a oggok quest. Warrior groups of level 8 or so can take him, He will prowl the nw corner of the swamp all the way to the haunted tower. He is a rare spawn. At lvl 9 warriors can go toe to toe with him, but watch ya hp's.

I've been told they drop the skin, I need for the Leatherfoor Raider Cap in Rivervale (beside other skins). So I killed around 70 gators (Tracking helps a lot). But no skin looted. Do others have experience about this ?

I have gotten a gator skin off a fat alligator and a bull. Two so far, sold them both, so I KNOW they exist.

the gator skin for the halfling quest helm is dropped by the fat alligator or at least thats what i looted it off of

ok, I know for sure that the gator skin stuff gets dropped by ancient gator in Guk. So far no skin from any other gaters

mmm...me thinks that someone...(ie Aabramms) is setting many peoples hopes up. That is an ancient crocodile in Guk... not a gator! and he is are real hard hitter from what I've discerned: hits for upto 72hp's a snap... take a friend or two...mmm? and be about 30th level too. meanwhile keep hitting them fat gators and bull gators... it being a rare drop is a real pain. :(

Yeah! WTF? I dont think this gator skin exists. Pain in the *** if you ask me... But, Im going to keep trying. The Leatherfoot Raider Skullcap rocks!
