I just completed this with two: Myself, lvl 75, 1755 AA, full lobby buffs, mostly Lost Rubicite and Fabled Gem Encrusted Axe & shield. Necro box, lvl 75, 975 AA, 2.0, lobby buffs. Also used a J1 healer merc and T5 caster merc. I dragged a pack of mobs near Durunal's spawn and killed them for corpses for the necro's Army of the Dead AA. I kept the merc on efficient most of the fight and had the necro dot, dot, dot. She clicked her epic, clicked DPS AAs. Healer merc got low on mana about 50% of the way so I had to use Armor of the Inquisitor and my own heals while i switched it from efficient to passive and back from time to time. Popped Hand of Piety at 25% when I had 6 adds on me. About 15%, the third wave popped, and i used Lay on Hands and Deflection, popped Intensity of Resolute and Inquisitor's Judgement. Necro kept dots refreshed throughout fight. Healer merc bit the dust at 5%, but I managed to win it. Necro flopped, but the pally succumbed to the pack, and had to run back to WoS for the loot.
we had just 4mins only to take him down from zonign into WoS, we had 82 cleric with us who was leaving for guild raid and refused to stay so he gave us 4mins, we rushed to duranl, but druid and chatner triggered a rare see invis mob and were wasted.
Cleric rezzed them and then insisted we attcked duranal immeditely or he would leave grp
we attcked with 2 members having rez effects and low mana
duranal spawned 2 waved of 3 elementals on us whcih sk tried to off tank
every1 ran oom and i had to use lay hands when duranal was on 10% as every1 was oom, when durunal was on 2% i then had to use my immune bubble as i was on 3% to grab the drops as he fell then entire grp wiped by another wave of elementals
Was overkill last night with a 85 Warrior, 84 Mage, 85 Shaman, 85 Ranger and 85 Rogue plus Mercs. I think he went down before the triggering Paladin was 50 feet into the zone. I didnt see a single add unless it died to a DS. Fight was about 30 seconds or less. This is easily soloable by a high DPS single 85 character plus merc.
Group of four (including mercs) consisted of: 79 pally (me), 85 monk, and our merc clerics. Monk was very well geared (31k+ hps, 4k+ac, 2500+ aa's), pally just baz gear (22k hp, 3300 ac, 400 aa's). We didn't pre-clear any mobs or anything, we just zoned in together, went straight to Durunal. Fight lasted about 4 minutes, Durunal did not move from his spot so we got no adds from WOS, we did get three elemental adds (they spawned all at once about 2 minutes in), which we ignored until Durunal was dead and then quickly dispatched. At best I distracted the adds -- the monk tanked and basically soloed Durunal with very few heals by the clerics.
Forgot to mention - I popped infusion at the start of the fight and didn't get hit by a single AE. We never got knocked out of the little ruin where he was standing. Hope this helps.
downed with 7 peeps 80 paladin - 14.k hp 2700ac unbuffed,700aa's 80 druid - 12k mana, 300 aa's (bot) 80 necro - 13k mana, 1000 aa's 80 enchanter - 12k mana,300 aa's(bot) 77 cleric - 10k mana, 200 aa's (bot) 80 cleric - 11k mana, 500 aa's 80 wizard - n/a no real strat just went for it, kept dps high on Drunul mezzed the adds that can be, and paly tried to keep agro on the unmezzable ones, 10 mins or so fight, lost 1 cleric at 30% to a repop. killed adds after Drunual died. Got em first try, yay onto 2.0!
I just one grouped this with a buddy of mine. Group breakdown was thus: HIS 80 SK (mix of cultural and Anguish raid gear, about 600AA) 80 CLR (mix of Praetorian and Txevu gear, about 600AA) 75Mage (Praetorian and Bazaar gear, about 200AA)
MINE 80 Wizard (mix of Cultural and Anguish, about 600AA) 75 Sham (Citizens and Bazaar gear, 150AA) 70 PAL (Cultural and Citizens 130AA)
Took us 3 tries to figure out the strat we were going to use. There wasn't a whole lot of finesse; we burned down the Cursebearer as fast as we could and the SK AE Agroed when adds popped (though only 1 wave popped). Can confirm that Cursebearer has about 600K HP. His AE's were easily resistable even by the 70 PAL and his melee wasn't unbearable (much easier than stuff in SoF). Max hit on my PAL (14K HP, 2.4K AC) was bout 1300, most in the low to mid 500's, though I did't tank that long.
Here is a summary of the research I have done on Durunal the Cursebringer: Final Kill in WoS for the Pally Epic 1.5.
Sources: This thread, and various other threads around the web.
Combat Statistics: Max Hit: 1700 Avg Hit: 690 HP: 600,000 Slowable, Rampages Effects Used: Gyrosonic Disruption: 600 point AE with gravity flux. Ocean's Cleansing: Massive cure disease/poison and dispel magic; casts on himself.
Spawn Location: Just southeast of the MPG Ramp in WoS. He spawns in the ruins, in a clearing, as soon as a properly-flagged Paladin, carrying the four soulstones, zones into WoS. He will stay up for 45 minutes. If he despawns, he cannot be triggered for another two hours.
Encounter Details: Durunal himself is leashed inside his ruins. He must be fought where he stands. The raid should clear the area around the ruins, probably from the MPG ramp, before the paladin zones in. This must be done quickly, and there should be very little downtime between clearing trash and the mob itself -- repops will wipe the raid.
Once the main mob is engaged, everyone should be inside the ruins. GFlux may occasionally throw folks out -- if they are aggrod by outside mobs they should die outside of the raid rather than bring the mobs to the raid itself.
A difficult component of this encounter are the adds. They are not triggered by HP of the mob -- they are timed adds. The adds spawn 2 at a time, once every 30 seconds, starting two minutes into the start of the raid. Hence, the main raid force should burn Durunal ASAP, mostly igoring adds if they are spawned, in order to minimize the total number of adds. Adds must be mezzed, rooted, offtanked, or kited, according to the table below. The adds that spawn have various immunities (some mezzable, rootable), summarized in the table below. Vicious Lightning Elemental CANNOT be mezzed, CANNOT be rooted -- tank or kite. Furious Lightning Elemental CAN be mezzed, CAN be rooted -- Mez if possible, root as well. Enraged Lightning Elemental CANNOT be mezzed, CAN be rooted -- Root.
Wiped on him twice tonight with 21 people. Adds are the only tough thing about this guy. He despawned after the second wipe and cannot respawn him for a couple hours.
Killed him with 24 people tonight, 1 group of them i'd say being fairly ungeared and the rest potime geared. Was a fun fight for sure. We had to recover afterward though because we pretty much wiped except for a few people at the end after Durunal was dead. Still got back in and cleared the area with 15 minutes on the corpse though. Trick in general is to burn him down. I had my raid full offensive at 95%
Took him out failrly easy 2 days ago with 56 people. We just concentrated on him while the adds were semi-kited and offtanked. A lot easier than the Wizard epic guy we killed 20 min earlier
Was all ready to do this fight tonight and zoned into WoS while my guild was fighting some other mobs. I didn't have the 4 soulstones on me but Durunal pop'd on me anyhow. To make a long story short he despawned before the raid got a chance to engage him. Anyone have info on how to spawn him again or how long you need to wait to spawn him again? I tried zoneing out and back in, also tried reloging from server select and there was no sign of him respawning.
He must have been spawned by someone else. If you trigger him yourself, he will shout in zone:
Durunal the Curesbearer shouts, 'I feel some souls have returned for me. Redis, Rithnok, Drema and Reiya . . . I feel your presence here. Come to me now and let us end this!'
I had the same issue as you had the previous evening, moving a raid in to kill him (he was not up). I zone in with all 4 soulstones on me, and he does not pop. We stayed for an hour and he did still not pop even if I zone out and back in (MPG). This moring i ported to WoS again, he popped with the emote as above, and I stayed in the zone for 45 minutes with my druid box tracking, and Durunal did not despawn in this timeframe. I took off not know for how long he will stay before despawning, but 45 mins is enough for me anyway.
Last night, Nov 3th 2004, We tried this guy, and the pally had read up on him, i think, but when we went to pull him he never came and just keep hitting everyone with his AE. About three mins later we found out that he is leased to his spawn point. He spawns to the left when coming down the PG ramp in the runins. He will begin to run towards u if arggo but he will pop back to his spot. The post about haveing 6 groups on ele geared people is about right we got him to about 50% then we all wiped.
Did him with 25 EP/Time geared people in Cazic Thule server. I would suggest 6 groups of elemental equipped raid or 4 groups of level 70 Time geared. Hope that helps
