soloed today, i'm an 88 nec, 1.7kaa with no merc. Ran into mob by accident and decided to try it out. Had a ton of HP but was easy enough tapping and dotting. Did have to blow my recovery aa at near 0 life and mana, took him down and he dropped wiz epic item only. Just fyi.
Tried boxing today 80 magician 15k mana 668 aa, 76 sham 11k mana. First part of fight went great, slow stuck and was letting pet dps to conserve mana. well around 50% slows would not land..just wouldnt land got prolly 25 to 35 resist before i gave up on that. Had to chain heal pet and at 40% i ran oom pet died and you can only guess what happened next. Needless to say with more dps im sure this would of been doable.
Oh yeah. This mob may have been 79 on a different spawn but when i fought him he was lvl 80.
We actually did Girplan as my last battle. We went reverse order as we got more powerful. Hobgoblin first, Elite Sun Revenant second and Girplan last. No chest for Hobgoblin, but a chest for the other two.On our second try, after chasing away some pk we took him down using pure dps, hitting hard and fast as we could as more pk was incoming.
About 4 groups Praetorian geared or equivalent or worse. The centerpieces of the raid were a 65 bard, 75 warrior main tank, 75 super-rogue doing backstab duty, 75 mage and 75 wiz(me) doing the nukes, 4 clerics to chain heal the mt, and sundry warriors, paladins, enchanters, shamans, rangers and necros in the 70 area. Despite being briefed to use blood of nadox, most of the dots were not cured and heal potions had to take care of it and the spells were badly slowed.
We killed him with 8 characters with TSS power =) We are casual guild, did not enter EP/Qvic/CoA and more, but we have many DoDH task's reward and chest drop.
74 WAR MT / 13.5k hp, 3k ac, avoidance 100, 15% shielding 73 CLR and 71 CLR use Elixir, Light and Promised Renewal / both have 9.5k mana 73 WIZ and 71 WIZ use DD which has adjust for resist / 10.5k mana and 10k mana 73 MNK DPS 73 BRD singing Sv down, Chrous, Storm, March and Aura of the Muse 73 ENC debuff, gave up slow, then trying mez for Deep Sleep
We wiped 3 times with bird AE Sv MPD up song, we got Cloud of Attrition many times. Clerics cannot to heal tank quickly, wizards had a lot of mana =(.
Then all used Infusion as 2nd veteran reward AA at 4th try. We resisted all AEs good, did not use group elixir. We slained him with 10 mins, clerics was 2m, wizards was oom.
To be specific, as I don't know still what the "cubbies" are, he's in the vicinity of 457, 1057. You can see him from there if you look up towards the wall in a south-south-easternly direction.
Know where the "cubbies" camp is? He is on top of the wall near there, but further down, before you hit the cave. He has huge Line of Sight agro, so if you see him, don't get closer.

Because our 2.0 epic is cake and way shorter then any others that i know of. Just get 2.0 orb and 1 raid fight then your pretty much done just have to run a bunch of errands.
I think I would have felt better if the 2.0 was harder and the 1.5 was easier...it only would make sense.....If you have the gear and friends to get the 1.5, you can immediately get the 2.0....It should be more of a progression.
My guild isn't a strong raiding guild. I don't know when or if we will be able to take the 1.5 mobs. So who cares that the 2.0 is easy in comparison.....I'll be stuck here at 1.5 awhile.
Why is it wizard epic 1.5 is harder than others. others are cake compared to our 1st part. i mean come on they really must hate us wizards. just not fair. just my 2 cents on it.
Nerfed? perhaps for elem/time geared guilds. Why is this first 1.5 epic mob so difficult compared to other classes epic mobs? I know, same song different verse but we have classes with their 2.0's but we cant get past this first wizard 1.5 mob.
I have been on several groupable epic mobs for other classes but the wizard 1.5 is a list of raid only encounters.
You have classes with your 2.0 - that means you are an Anguish flagged guild. Not only that, it means you were able to take out at least one of the nameds in Anguish. Any guild that can drop an Anguish named (and all that implies (Anguish flagged, etc.)), can drop this guy without a great deal of difficulty. We were taking him down with about 40 people while we were still working through Ikki/Uqua.
(I do agree that the wizzy 1.5 is seemingly inordinately difficult compared to others, but your statement that you are able to finish some 2.0 epics but can't take down this guy just doesn't work.)
First of all, this mob does not quad, he quintuples (5x) for 2400 dmg (12100 / round) and rampages aproximately every 4 or 5 seconds. Rampage attack is AE hitbox and also quintuple.
Main tank: Unbuffed: 10khp / 2200ac / 15% shielding / max defensives Backup Tank: Unbuffed: 11khp / 2350ac / 17% shielding / max defensives
Two clerics and druid were assigned healing on MT. All other paladin/priests were assigned to keep their group alive (AE Rampage) and patch heal MT.
AE spell damage negated by MGB's (all stack, but not with same class type)
5 Cleric chain MGB Heal over time (max aa) 400/tick heal 2 Druids MGB HoT during fight (max aa) 400/tick Shaman MGB HoT half way during fight (max aa) 400/tick
Main tank was two rounded towards end of fight due to the 4000dd proc. Our main hurdle was overcoming simple dps due to the nature of the AE's. Melee dps need to watch their health carefully from the AE rampage and duck out of fight for heals as needed.
We set up in portal room west of cubby camp and pulled mob there, main tank positioned in doorway sorta. There is a corner there which faces north that is easy to tank in.
Just wanted to say that the ESR would smoke this guy in a battle if that was possible. I am currently stuck on the ESR and hoping to send him home in a body bag very soon.
The Order of Draconis took this guy out last night for my first epic 1.5 piece. He's tough, and I can only imagine how tough he was before the last patch supposedly made him easier. We got him to 48% the first time and then wiped with 24 in raid. Then we tried again right after with 35 in the raid and killed this flying monkey with no one to spare. His 2 dots are wicked and he was hitting for 2400 max. We pulled him to the crystal room and cornered him so he would not warp. Everyone engaged since the range on his 2 dots was so large. We had a MT, SA, TA, and a RT. DPS is a must on this guy and I would not recommend trying him without since he has about a million hp's. Either way it was a fun fight! GL with this one fellow wizards!
Unless you are in a time+ gear guild...you are not killing this mob
While my guild is not a Time+ guild (need Xegony and Rathe still), we did have success with this mob last night, and easily handled him. It's NOT about how hard he hits, or about the AEs, it's all at positioning and raid tactics.
I believe our turnout was 60ish, and we had only 10 die. The fight is fairly long though. The chest dropped the Icy Torque.
