This mob most certainly did a WILD RAMPAGE tonight. That's an AE Ramp. He also flurries. It's rare but he did flurry twice during tonight's engagement.
Lastly, at 10% he self memblurred. Has this happened to anyone else? I'll double check if we end up taking him again. I don't remember the blur last time we fought him.
Duoed him today (85 ranger 5.2kAC/ 58khps with a T5 cleric merc). Never got below 50% life..merc was almost oom by the end of the fight..mostly due to her healing herself from Hulcror's AE lol...kept her on balanced during the duration of the fight. Dropped https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=31712,https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=31717, 2 glowing runes. Took about 6 mins to own him...simple enough. I remember my old guild wiped on him shortly after OoW came out..was a 2 group raid if my memory serves me well..funny how times have changed.
Fairly easy fight, bst cured me while I tanked, he took care of adds. Took around 20 minutes. Hulcror has a stupid amount of hp. Had a t5 merc healing.
Stop playing stupid, you know what he/she meant. 2 actual players, and a merc, imo, still counts as 2. Merc's are like pets. You wouldn't count the BST pet as another player, would you?
If you did something with a merc, its not solo =( plain and simple. The day mages or bsts can summon a pet that casts devout light, ill consider adjusting my opinion
I personally like calling that 2.5 people. =P There's no way you can consider those mercs as "pets".... they're much too powerful for that, even if they are less powerful than an actual player. (at least most of them)
had some major issues with this guy today... aggro switched every 30 seconds or so, full on taunts from the tanks, and he would just peel away and knock off the dps. dunno if this is a new effect or what. but it sucked.
pulled him off the bridge to the left if you are facing him , put him on wall butt in the corner. had a necro, shammy, war(me), dru(mebot), bard (shm bot).
know now that he is over 75... i personally am not 75 yet, by with 3 levels of yellow, a level 76 is still going to be yellow to me at 73 and he is still red so at least 77, havent asked anyone who is 74 or 75 if he turned yellow to them yet
Well...I was on my way to MPG and saw D'Pikey taking down Hulcror. I saw a few hits for around 2-3k and saw him rampage. I also got hit with Plague of Hulcror. It's pretty nasty, and for those of you who haven't been hit by it yet, it gets stronger with each tick. It also lasts for around 10mins IIRC. And dont try and heal your way out of it lol, because it wont work.
17k Warrior -- 3k ac -- 1k AAs 14.7k Monk -- 2.5k ac -- 12.1k AAs 16k Ranger -- 2.6k ac -- 13.92k AAs --------------------------------------------- Cleric - 14200 mana -- 529 AAs Cleric - 12900 mana -- 700 AAs ------------------------------- Shaman - 12k hp / 11k mana -------------------------------------------------
Warrior was in corner shrinked, Monk Ramp Tanked and tanked when got aggro warrior was in defensive, mnk popped damage mitigation disk every time he got aggro then FDed some time. Ranger used Arrows whole fight cause he boxed shmmy. Clerics sat in tunnel and 5 sec rotated on Tank - using PL / SR / PE clicks to heal mnk and rng. Shmmy Healed self and slowed when neccary used panther to speed up fight and kept him self healed and spammed canni / nadox to keep aoe down.. Simple fight with good Mana Regen. Cleric 2.0 click cured dot i think -.. couldnt remember
He has about 1,500,000 hp.. hits 3k ramp ------------------------------------------- aoe goes off often so fun to watch shmmy wonder why its not curing :-)
My guild (Silver Daggers on The Rathe) took this guy out with 39 in raid, avg level was 69. This was our first try on this guy so it was definetly a learing experience.
The Silver Dagger's average level of equipment would be about EP or better. We lost A LOT of people on this raid thanks to Hulc's memblur. I would recomend:
1) Tank needs to be able to grab aggro back fast! Select the character with the best ability available to you (spell or disc)
2) "Splash" heal(use spells like Pious Light): complete heal rotation will not work for this fight.
3) MGB Heal over Time: set up percentages (of remaining mobs hit points) for each healer with this ability to cast at. We went at multilples of 20 mostly (95, 80, 60, 40, 20)
4) Keep Heals over time running on groups while healers cure dot after the fight.(I was not paying attention to my own DoT while I was fixing up others and I died after the fight)
5) Do whatever you have to do to keep the mob in one spot--preferably in a corner or something.
6) All casters, rangers, and anyone else who likes to DPS/heal at a range stand back as far as you possibly can most of our survivors for the fight just happened to not be near Hulc when he memblurred
7) Drop Melee discs around 60-75 pct.
8) Designate one cleric to battle rez fallen Melee DPS sinc they can do damage with out waiting on mana.

I'm not going to say that Nevaren is lying about this ..... but I would say that this poor Ranger is having vivid dreams of being a tank LOL, someone reach over and shake him, there is puddle of drool forming on his pillow.
Hulcror is easily slowable and crippled, only need a malos if that to get them to land.
Two casts of blood of nadox cures the dot, but its not worth it b/c he casts it so often. Spam abolish disease on the MT and keep melee at max range and you're all set.
I was in a group at south wall, we were waiting on a cleric to show up. boom. got hit with his dot. not sure the details on it, although i'm sure it's posted here somewhere, but was taking about 10% a tick, and it was 9 minutes long.
Ur average mage LoS (line of sight) nuke for a mage is roughly the length of the girplin to Cubby camp plus a little more distance (200').
350 is almost twice the distance. With that in mind, either it was from one of the other 75+ mobs, i.e. Hulcor (for chanter epic i believe), or this lil dude was pulled half way through the zone.
