I killed him today, with my cleric merc., about half an hour ago in (new) South Ro on the Erollisi Marr server. He conned yellow to my level 19 Paladin. His loot drop was: Cracked Staff, Shimmering Agate Signet, Makeshift Binding Powder.
He respawned less than 5 minutes later. I killed him again. On the second kill he dropped: Cracked Staff, Unadorned Ring of Marr.
I camped the Ruined Temple in the SE corner of the desert part of SRO for an entire night(game time) and didn't see this guy pop once. Nor did I see any PH. Could I get a loc on this guy or maybe this quest is broken?
I spent some time today camping Moldrak Drin. While waiting for him to spawn, I decided to try to take down Sandgiant Husam (who conned dark blue to me, a 34 Bard). Husam knocked me down to 33% pretty fast, so I zoned to Oasis; I had Husam down to 50%, so I quickly healed up using my heal song, and then went back into SRo to finish him off. But, at first I couldn't find him. I figured someone else must have gotten him, so I went back to camping the sunken tower where Moldrak spawns. To my surprise, when I got to the tower, there was Sandgiant Husam, duking it out with Moldrak! They fought until the giant started to run. They had I joined the fight then, and killed the giant pretty fast because Moldrak and his pet had got the giant down to about 25%. Then, I turned on Moldrak (who was at about 20%), killed him, and then his pet.
So, it seems that if Sandgiant Husam is up, he can sometimes wander over and have a brawl with Moldrak.
All I got for my work was a cracked staff; no ring. But, he has just popped again...
I stopped by the DE vendors to sell and he was standing a just a bit east of them, in easy sight with the clip plane down pretty far. It was 3pm in the game day so he's up in the daytime.
There is a good probability that he was left standing in another part of the zone after his prey was either killed or left the zone. From what I have observed he will not return back to his spawn point (the sunken tower in the desert) on his own, and even Sense the Undead will not lead you to him if his pet has been killed. If you die from him he will stand guard over your body until you return. I have been able to sneak close enough to drag my corpse without getting his agro. If you do get his agro on your corpse run, run for zone and hope you get there before his nasty Heat Blood boils you alive, or he turns you around with fear and pushes you farther away from escaping. I have dropped from level 26.17 to 25.12 trying to kill him and in the last of my attempts I had his pet killed and only him to deal with, also had him led clear down to the Innothule Swamp entrance. I was going to try a go in and melee, zone out and heal, then back in again before he healed himself very much for more melee, to wear him down little by little. Well, he took up a position way up on the side wall of the zone entrance where I could not climb up to melee him, but he could fear me as I passed by not seeing him up there. He was also too far above to hit with arrows. At that point I gave up for the night. My apologies to anyone that zoned in to meet him, he's just a sneaky sob necro and I will be back to deal with him later after I've licked my wounds for awhile.
No,it is confirmed he can spawn just east of the DE vendors. Was there with my iksar doin some selling and i saw him spawn, didnt have a pet so i attacked him. Feared him, sent in pet and he came back, smacked my pet a bit, feared me then killed my pet. He feared me right into terrorantula and i died. But he did spawn right by the DEs
Was white to a 22nd Ranger so level isn't set at 26th. Killed him with help of 21st Shaman and Cleric. Just kept Nuking with smite and Spirit strike while Ranger melee'd (inbetween the fear's) Cleric feared pet to keep it out of the way for a bit but that was about the only thing that ever stuck on the pet...it resisted everything else Dropped ring
Easy pickings for my 39 Rogue, out of 2 pops in one night (9PM, 5AM game time) both times dropped the cracked staff, one time dropped the Ring of Marr.
No cash either time.
Seems a daytime paceholder is a Shriveled mummy, near the small tower in the SE corner of the desert part of SRo. He pops in the same place.
