Updated, thanks. Of note: the "sealed letter" drop was posted in 2000 and never updated, making this the longest-standing missed update I have seen so far.
If she's a Level 7 I'm Nancy Reagan.
She killed my Level 10 Human Warrior three times before I gave up.
Finally went back for revenge after I got to Level 17. Managed to beat her to death but had to chase he thru the city and by the time she was dead I had half the guards after me and I never had time to loot.
Luckily I had SoW and made it to the EC zone before they killed me.
Heh, now I'm afraid to go home again...

I killed her today with my level 8 warrior. Took me 2 battles, she won the first one so I stopped trying to bash her and just kicked away. I finished the fight with 2 bubs of health. She casts fast for 14 points max per spell, punches for 5-6 points. I killed her right in her room in the Hogcaller's Inn, she started to run but didn't make it outside the room so I cannot verify if the guards help or not. All five faction hits were negative, as posted below by Sicerise. She dropped the Halfling Head and the Note. Can anyone tell me certainly what the note is for?

Here's what I think you do with the letter: On the same floor there is a high elf named Lady Shea or something like that. When I talked to her she said something about wine. I gave here a white wine and a red wine and then she said that someone was delivering mail to a dark elf in room two. I assume that the letter you get when you give the key to the merchant is some of the mail she mentions. My sister tried to give her the letter, but nothing happened, so maybe you have to get her drunk again.

The guy is Plagus Ladeson in East Freeport. I just did a complete rewrite of the quest walkthrough, this should help.

I need to know that if I am dubious to the gaurds here and I kill her will I be KOS to the gaurds?

i tried to kill her with me level 9 bard but she casts this wierd spell that looks red and she killed me but the bestiery said that level 7 people could kill her.........and by the way if you give the key to the merchant does he give you a lot or a little expierence

im sorry to disappoint you all, but i just slaughtered both hyrill pon and shintl lowbrew with my 12 bard...they both ran out of the place and i killed them while they were next to the guards...the guards didnt give a damn. i did this a lot to get decent exp, and the guards do not help either of them. so whoever is saying the guards did help, you most likely are KOS to the guards already, which is why they attacked you.

KOS to the guards? No. I dont know what you are smoking but. Im indifferent to the militia guards and when i tryed to get her head for the warrior quest. Those guards honed in on me pretty quickly and. of course i died.

I found that they key she drops in room to you give to the Beer merchant near Hyrill Pon and he gives you a note and some exp but does anyone know what the note is for?

As to the person who said the guards wont help - WRONG - I made the mistake of not rooting her and had all the guards after me - zoned with 10 hp's - the guards still con Dubious -
If you want to kill her - Root and Melee - root keeps her in place and melee interupts some of her spells - Good Hunting --

She's on an 10minute or 20 minute cycle. not sure if i missed one. she will leave the room every 10 or 20 min and the key will be on the ground for about 2 sec. or less. if your quick you can grab it. keep you eyes on her feet.
