My beast lord went to get her essence for the 1.5 epic today. I ran over south of grave yard and a little south east per directions on this page. They are still accurate. I killed 1 mob, and wham essence. That was to easy lol.

Cross the River
stay to to right side of the hills till you see the trees on your left hand side
I did not have the pleasure of camping these guys before today. I am trying to get Midnight Stones for DE Cult Armor. I was at camp for 3 hours today and got 3 Diamonds, 2 Raw Diamonds, and NO Midnight Stones. Is this typical or am I just unlucky? Is there another group of Mobs that drop them more often?
To try and answer your first question, it's to tough to say if that drop rate is typical, I don't know how many mobs you kill per hour. I can clear camp of 12 I believe in about 15 min and often durring that clearing I will not get one Stone.
Sorry, don't have LOC atm. But I can tell you easy directions. When you zone in, the Graveyard is next to a building. From the Buildng, head south across the creek. Once you cross the creek, veer right until the wall of the zone is on your right side. Continue heading South and the wall of zone will bend a little so you're eventully heading Southeast. You'll see trees on the left. When you come to an opening, you should be able to see the Nightstalkers - one in front, one to the left, and about 8 more a little further SE. Good luck!
I've soloed here from 55 to 65 and done a couple aa's here. Before OoW I would make a good deal of plat off of diamond drops, and obviously, as I progressed in lvl, I was able to kill the mobs faster until I was consistantly taking the whole camp. When OoW came out, the aggro radius of the mobs became larger, but at 65 it's not a huge deal, however, the diamond drops have been seemingingly cut back by at least 75% or more. This camp is no longer a profitable farm camp. This is good news for 53+ druids who are coming to this camp to charm kite, you'll likely find this camp free. Too bad about the loot tho, always happens with a new expansion.
Ah - thx much Valefar! I would go bonkers looking up such an item. I'm thinking I should be adding the item to Allakhazam if it's not there already. ;p
Hi all! I'm a lvl 55 druid on Maelin Starpyre server. I haven't lvled in a while and thought I'd go back to charm the Ravenous Stalker camp in Plane of Nightmare. Thinking that I'd be seeing diamond drops as usual, I was happy to recoup some of the plat I spent on GoD zone port spells.
Unforunately after killing 5 of these little wolfies.. 4 of them droped "Disturbed Beast Essence" - magic item, lore, no drop. I'm thinking there must be some type of new quest or trader skill item that may use this... But it looks very new since I killed about 50 of the same mobs a few weeks ago and never saw this item once!
I'll be very disappointed if the diamond drops are no longer occurring. I'll be even more disappointed if the exp gained from these mobs are in some way changed for the worse as well. I'll have to pay some attention and see...
Zacory Wood Elf of the 55th season Maelin Starpyre Server
I continued killing the Stalkers and found one of those bone idols and 4 raw diamonds! So the loot hasn't changed - Other han the "Disturbed Beast Essence." That must be a new drop for a new quest or trade skill.
Every single one of these guys are 51 or lower because I can charm them all with my charm song. I've killed probably 350 of em, and every single one has been charmable.
I'm a 56 Necro been hunting Ravens and tree's for a couple levels now. With only 2k hp can't adventure around too much in PON. Anyone have an LOC for this camp?
At level 50 (bard), I get a message saying that "This NPC cannot be charmed". It does not indicate "(with this spell)", so I assume it means that they now can't be charmed at all rather than that I am too low level or something.
Bards can only charm stuff that is the same level as them or below (at level 50-52 anyway). I have tested this on DB, white, and yellow cons in PoDisease and in PoNightmare and it was consistent - I could charm the whites and blues, but never the yellows. The message it gives is "This NPC cannot be charmed", but you ding, they turn white, and you can charm them.
So:
The Nightstalkers in PoN are mostly 51, so you can head there at 51 and do pretty well, but you need to chant kite the 52s and 53s now and then to make sure you keep a balance. At 53, you can charm them all.
Bards, get an AA every hour and a half here at lvl 65. Just pull all the stalkers and a few yard trash to get a good dps base, then use Call of the Banshee and go to town. Make about 2k an AA on the good days, on the bad days..... 6 hours and 50pp of drops. At level 65 the exp is decent, not HoH good but still great since I can kill 3 stalkers for 1% reg exp in the same time it takes me to chant kite 1 guardian in HoH for the same exp. Same for AA unless you have all the amps for the dots... but doin 117 a tick x 4 dots takes 2 hours to get an AA in HoH.... so i am sticking to stalkers + yard trash for now.
I have fought here by charm swarming ever since level 53. This place is honestly the GREATEST exp in the whole game for bards levels 53-60 for sure.
First I would recommened getting these two easily obtainable items, as you will need the mana for your charm, so you can do this for an extended period of time, without stopping.
First off, load these songs: Invisibility 4 DoT's Occlusion of Sound Selos Accelerando And of course charm
First, start off by checking that the camp isn't camped, as you can take the entire camp solo. Then, pull a back mob (or just run through the camp so they all chase you) and pick one of the many wolves chasing you. OOS it, then switch to wind instrument and charm it. Then make it attack another wolf in the pack... all of the other wolfs should start attacking your charmed wolf. Watch your charmed pets health carefully... when it gets to around 30% health, start casting invisiblity... by the time it gets off it should be at around 10%-15%, depending on how many wolfs are attacking it. Keep the charmed pet targetted and then kill it with your DoT's... keep doing this until all the wolfs are killed. For each wolf you kill, wait a little bit longer each time to use invisiblity... If you run around the frozen tree near the camp for kiting, you shouldn't get any outside adds.
If you kill the wolfs faster than they spawn (once you get good at it), then start pulling outside mobs. Since bards can't charm those outside mobs yet, make every wolf you charm attack the outside mob, not another wolf. The wolfs will eventually injure the outside mob to around 10-15% health, and you can kill the charmed wolf, then the outside mob for 2 kills back to back. If you get out of mana, you can either just normally kite a wolf, or kill yourself and loot corpse and start again with full mana, and get a rez later... But I normally just ask a druid in the zone if he wants to take the wolfs for an hour or so while I take a break, as long as I get it back. They usually say sure.
One other thing, don't ever loot corpses unless your charmed wolf is fighting the other wolfs, because if the wolfs catch up to you... your dead.
If your above 55, I would recommend making a hotkey for deftdance, in case they catch up to you... it can save you many times if you slip up.
You can also charm swarm in maidens eye with the gorangas, just watch out for the hunters.
Dropped one of Toharon's Memmoir pages last nite. Right-side. Cant remember which one though, will edit later.
Actually I have a lot of things to say about the drops here. First off, those looking for the left side of Yaeth's pg 70, go elsewhere. The only one I have seen drop in over 300 kills is the right side.
There is a large variety of words that drop here as well, about 10 different ones including Tenancy, Stimulation, Comprehension, Restraint, etc...
Only a couple different runes have dropped lately, Rune of Gale and Flash.
I hope this helps those wishing to do spell research.
Bleh. Figured these guys were tougher than they are. My friend was there for like 2 hours, linking me a diamond every 5 mintues. Went myself, got about 20pp worth of stuff in 1 1/2 hours.
i find the best way to kill these is to pull 2 of em charm one haste ur pet let it kill teh other then pull another one invis ureself charm teh new one kill old pet rinse and repeat. my CHA is 100, charm breaks now and then but not ofet to worry about. ive also pulled about 5 at once on one occasion, took all my quading learnt skills to get em all back in line but once they were all snared and rooted it was just a case ripping thru em with a new pet each time. i went from 55 to 58 in 3 days made 20kpp and im still there now, gonna camp em for a few more lvls yet. these guys rock (hope they dont get nerfed lol)
I'm a 60 druid (made 60 in 3 days here) and I've been charm kiting these guys for several days now and I haven't found better solo experience in the game yet. (I previously soloed diseased rats and various goos in PoD but the stalkers are better XP and loot.)
Make sure your CHA is above 160 for this charm kiting tactic. Better then that helps a little although charm can still break instantly even at 214 so higher CHA is no guarantee.
One stalker spawns along the wall some distance from the cluster near the rocks and another spawns out in the open area away from the wall. The remainder of the spawns are clustered on and around the rocks.
Their agro radius is fairly large so harmony (Harmony of Nature) everything you can see, one at a time. There is a tree along the wall close to the rocks that is safe to come up to to harmony the ones on the rocks. Their respawn rate is fairly quick so watch out for the one on the wall to pop behind you when you go in to get the ones by the rocks.
Pick two to pull with snare after casting harmony on everything. Backup to the dead tree and cast Call of Karana on the closer of the two. When he reaches the dead tree have him attack the other mob.
Don't help your pet or buff him in any way. The object is to let both the pet and the other mob bring each other down as low as possible to make your finish work as efficient as possible. Med during their fight.
When either mob gets below one bubble cast root on the mob and target your pet. Hit your hide key to break charm and root your pet as well. Dot them both with your most efficient dots until dead.
Sometimes your pet will break charm prematurely. If he's low enough just root him and kill him with root/rot. Otherwise, recharm him and send him back in.
Beware of regen. Sometimes the mob and/or your pet will all of a sudden regen up to 20% of their health once you break charm. I think its a bug but I believe if you re-snare after charm breaks and keep them rooted they regen less often.
Also beware of de-popping mobs. If a mob de-pops during the fight it is best to camp immediately to lose agro. He will reappear back in the spawn area and the next time you come anywhere near them the entire camp will haul *** after you and you will have to gate out anyway. Since they double for 248+ you can't afford to have a train of ravenous nightstalkers catch up to you.
Using this tactic of charm kiting you can keep your mana near FM and be ready to pull again as soon as fight is over.
I make around 1.5% normal XP per fight and average one diamond/raw diamond/blue diamond/midnight stone about every 4-5 kills.
Yesterday, I made 30% XP in a few hours of hunting here and about 2000pp in gems. Avoid groups. They aren't needed and they actually reduce the XP/loot you'll make.

I agree with most of your tactics. But I have found that getting a shaman, or any slower, makes this place a breeze.
Me, 56 druidess, and friend, 56 shaman, can wipe this entire camp out with one pet before respawning begins. Weel, the one closest to dead tree always spawns too damn fast, hehe.
Trick is this, when pet gets below 30% health, tell slower not to slow the mob until pet is at 10%. Then by the time the mob is dead, pet is already scared of you. Duoing, we both got a full AA in about 2-3 hours. 3 diamonds, 4 blue diamonds, and one raw. Also a bone idol, and several other drops.
With the new group XP system, I dont lose much XP when duoing. especially since the killing goes faster.
Another method for soloing that I use is this. Bring in the first stalker and charm it. Immediately pull the second one, haste pet and root the pull.
While pet is killing this pull. Go Harmonize the rest of the camp. When mob is at 30% health or so, pull the next one. Pet should be able to handle 2 kills before he is low on health. If not. When he gets below 10%, break charm and get a new pet. Doing this over and over again, I am able to wipe out all 11 spawns at the camp in 20 minutes, just long enough for regen to run it's course, hehe.
The key is to always have a mob in the wings to become a pet, or to sick the pet on, depending on the situation. Good luck, I hope this helps.

Posted:Jan 26 2003 at 6:09 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hey Bards. U can't kill these guys. They too uber for you. In fact they have a "Summon Bard" spell and they can use it from anywhere in the zone so yer just better off not even going anywhere near PoN. Also when u die by one it takes all your armor and deletes it. Hope this helps. ;)
