walk up to hima nd kick him, that started it for me. if you happen to get him to bug at 1% you can log off and come back hell be at 100

Ok his respawn isnt 15hrs 25min. As with most of PoP. 3 days plus or minus 12 hours. Server reset not withstanding.

Yeah, I have done this a few times. On my monk I will punch him 1 times and then stop, usually doesn't do enough to drop him all the way to 1%

Don't do damage on agro to him.

I walked up with my 110 paladin and hit attack - dropped him to 1% life in about 2 seconds. This caused him to bug. He turned invulnerable and started walking/running away.
He healed SUPER slow, so I ended up leaving and coming back a few hours later. Then I agroed him with a non-damage spell - this started the event properly.

110 monk RoS raid geared. Pulled with shuriken (~2k dmg), kited and kept hitting with shuriken until he was at 94%, then riposte took him to 1% and same thing as described above - he wanders off at 1% and is not attackable. What a pain.

Had the same thing happen today - however zone out and back again and he was at 100% health and walking back to spawn point.

If ever curious whether or not Vallon has been killed already in the earlier hours after a patch, run to his room and click the doors at the rear. If doing so ports you to the safe room along the hallway from zi/zo to the arena - he has already been killed. If by clicking on the door you receive a message that reads *The doors are held shut by magical forces* Vallon has yet to pop.

Just something I noticed while gearing up some alts.

All you have to do to find the real VZ is type "/target Vallon_Zek00" he is always the first to spawn giving him the 00 behind his name.

Tried to kill him today and found out a few tips to finid the one that will split on ya. 1 only the one that splits will rampage. 2 the one that splits cannot be slowed

Okay so I agro'ed him beat him halway down and he split off into 5 in the center. Please note that if you kill the real one he will spawn 5 more in the center. There was 4 or 5 waves I'm not sure which because I was randomly picking mobs to kill and triggered around 13 over them, they killed my merc twice and me once but I manged to come back and finish them all off. So keep coming back if you wipe.

Last night a 75 beast lord and i did this little fight. It was surprisingly very easy, just one wave after another, no need to med in between. Now, unfortunately, when the 4th wave popped i had to get going. I cant seem to find out if perhaps we were just slow killing them? are they timed? is it 3 waves ? I'm guessing not, all though one post i read said so, then another saying 4. Can anyone confirm how many waves? Other then that, I'm a 75 pally, COA/DPOB geared, i was never in any danger at any time while i tanked all 5 at a time per wave, basically my ward of Tunare spell soaked up any damage by healing me, after we killed the 3rd wave i still had 40 percent mana, so another couple waves wouldn't have been out of the question. DPS would definitively been welcome though lol.

curious.

How did a shaman solo it?

5 pop, you find the real one. When he dies, 5 others pop. repeat 2 more times.

Generally, folks kill off the fake ones, then the real one so they can deal with the next wave of 5, or else they will end up with a total 4 rounds, where a real one, and 4 fakes are adding every round.

If solo,
how is it done?
If you take them all out each round, then the real one, thats 5 mobs beating on you. "if" you can survive it, the med time afterwards would be too long and the next 5 will despawn.

If you only kill the real one each round, that would mean your fights increase exponentially, ending with 16 fakes beating on you while you are trying to take down the real one.


And then, you still have the room respawns happening the whole time the fight is.

was done via pet pulling.

pet pulling is nerfed now so not sure if he is still soloable, Haven't tried.

I may be thinking of Tallon Zek, but I doubt it. Anyway, Vallon Zek is soloable by Necromancers. This may be so, but the only ones I have seen doing it are Anguish+ and 1000 AAs+. I'm also pretty sure, what makes the necromancer able to complete this task is the ability to feign death and still do nearly full damage. I am not trying to hold any secrets, other than names of those who have soloed Vallon (I have yet to complete this task), but the strategy is simple; You cast DoTs and FD, DoT and FD, lifetap when needed, don't snare, rinse and repeat until one or the other dies.

He is by himself and warps around, tossing a lot of "line of sight" effects.

I really think the rarity of this VZ's drops should be changed to:

Furious Hammer of Zek - Very Rare
Girdle of the Tactician - Very Rare
Obsidian Scimitar of War - Rare
Pendant of the Triumphant Victor - Common
Resplendent War Maul - Common

That's how it was in my experience at least. I've raided VZ almost as many times I've been in failed RZtheWarlord attempts, but the cleric hammer's only drop once. What stunk was that the one of the pet clerics of the guild gobbled it up, even though he has all the good gear, gets all the good group, and couldn't possibly use it for anything but showing off.

i have done this with paladin/druid/druid/bard
(VT/ikkinz gear)

standard one group setup would be:

warrior/paladin with 8khp, shaman/chanter, bard, fill in dps here, fill in dps here, fill in dps here

*note: this event despawns if you leave the vallons sitting there too long (i'll say 15 minutes, it hasn't happened to me for over a year), or don't kill the real one within a timeframe

lets assume your in the only safe corner in VZ's room by now. let your bard pull vallon zek, standard mob killing procedure, slow dps heal etc., think he hits around 800 if i remember correctly, then VZ should depop around 60-70%, cant remember, and split into 5 in the middle of the room. Have your bard go out and kite all the vallons in a big circle, trying not to agro the ogres. (careful, dont stop they run damn fast and will own you if your not careful or lagging, and no selos indoors.) If the bard dies have someone pull the bards corpse to the stairs nearest the group, and when rezzed, leave 1 item on the corpse, and have the cleric cast 0% rez on the corpse on each kite the bard does, so if he gets in trouble (and cant DA!)he can take the rez and wipe agro, and use it to split since he will be out of mana after dying) Have someone designated in your group to target the real vallon zek and keep his target. (REAL VZ RUNS FASTER THAN THE OTHERS AND CASTS, YOU CAN CLEARLY TELL WHICH ONE IS REAL)
once someone has the real one targetted, have your bard FM the mobs (not on your group!) and assist the person targetting the real one, (the group assist main tank leader AA really helps to distinguish between the 5, if you have it its a +) and start kiting them again, cast harmony of the sound on the real one, and single target snare song on him after that, once hes snared, get *enough* distance, i cant tell you how much really, between the real one and the 4 fakes, FM(or take rezbox) and try to grab him solo from the rest of the pack, (use your bard to pull) if he agroes the others just FM (or take rezbox, you may need to die if its about time for the old corpse to graveyard if you died earlier.) Have someone pull your new corpse if you died to the old rez-box spot. Once the real Vallon Zek is solo pulled into your camp, just kill him he is no harder than a kriger in BoT. After the real one from the pack of 5 is dead, 5 more will spawn in the middle of the room. Have your cleric rez-box your bard, have your bard DA into the old 4 VZs and pull them into the corner on the other side of the stairs opposite your group (Very first Vallon's left.) and take rezbox. If they are with the new 5 vallons, its ok youll just be kiting 9 instead of 4, be much more cautious. Split him in the same way and when you get him solo, make sure you either have the other 4 away from the middle, or have your bard dump them into the corner before the Vallon you are killing is dead. Do the Split/Kill/Dump process about 5 times i *think* and you'll have beaten the event, the last "real" vallon has loot on it.

CoH will clear the agro from a player IF the player is 200 cordinates away OR MORE. otherwise CoH will not clear agro.

If you mean on track, then I believe the reason RZ is lower level than VZ or TZ it's cause that is not the final RZ that you fight in the Pit. The Pit RZ is level 75.

Yes, to be more specific... RZ the "fake" RZ who stands on the balcony (and triggers the "real" RZ) is named Rallos Zek. The "real" RZ who spawns in the pit is named Rallos Zek the Warlord. [Fake = RZ = take him down to approx 30% he poofs and triggers RZTW. Real = RZTW = kill him to get A Planar Projection to spawn and hail for your flag]

i am a 65 shammy when i summon my lowest pet buff him up real good and just him in to one of the Vallon zeks the other won,t assist so pet attack pet follow /pet hold

I have been trying to kill RZTW with my guild now for about a month. Many of you have figured out TZ and VZ are now unsplitable...and guess what...the adds that come with them after you kill the TZ/VZ triggers DO NOT RESPOND TO AGGRO!

Thats right. I snared some one of the mobs 5 times and didnt even get aggro when they were at 99% life.

I think this gameplan will work:

3 tanks needed. Tank one on TZ (have him face TZ towards the wall or away from the raid). Tank 2 on RZ with sufficient healage. Tank 3 on adds that come with TZ/VZ. Have enc keep other adds mezzed while tank 3 and the other 69 people in the guild kill the adds ASAP. This gives Tanks 1 and 2 time to build aggro, and really, it shouldnt take 69 people more than a minute or two to kill 4 - 6 adds (I think its originally 4 adds, but one or two of them split into two mobs).

Let me know if this works, please.

My guild had been trying this new encounter since OoW first came out we prolly attempted it 6-7 times with no success. The best we got was TZ to 12% and VZ to 78% the AE of the 2 of them eats the casters alive significantly cutting DPS so even if you do manage to kill one your major raid force is dead. They supposedly fixed the encounter today but when we gathered in zone to attempt him he was not up.

I have heard that this is the hardest one of the brothers to fight but i know for a fact that Rallos is harder. We took this guy easy but rallos was 5 times harder
