I was in unrest and loged cuz i was sleepy loged back on next day and desided 2 go to island and i seen some guys and i wanted to kill them go fig im a barb war so i sent my dru friend tell come heal me so he did and when he was on his way i seen bilge farfathorn so when my friend got there i had him sow me and track bilge he went to find him as he was bilge run right to me i hit him it was over fast as my dru body came up and put a dot on him and me lev 51 war go fig heheh .He droped the peral kedge totem . then not 2 min after he run past again and my friend got the reed belt wow lucky aye. grin 51 war Hizerthanu Guys on vallon zek.
Just noticed last night that my DoT damage had jumped, Drifting Death was doing about 74 per tick rather than 65. Then checked my Reed Belt and found that Extended Affliction II has become Burning Affliction II. Checked the 7/10 patch message & sure enough there it was, silly me had skimmed right over without reading of the change. Haven't watched to see if other spells are changed also, if they are the increased damage will make up for shorter duration of Ensnare & such, INMHO. It's about time for me to pass this on to an alt anyway, too bad, I've used it much and happily.

Went to Dagnors with my 45 druid today looking for the cleric quest bp gobbo for a friend.
Sat on the island in the middle with the dwarfs on it and killed any wandering goblins I saw as well as some rats and skellies that aggroed whilst I was medding. After about two hours of this I was thinking of calling it a night when I see a named mob on track.
Great I think, about time and head off to wax him. Very easy kill...one drifting death and I think just one drones of doom curtesy of my ES arms.
So I loot up and am suprised to see no ingot (for the cleric quest) but instead a belt. Cursing my luck that what I was after hadn't dropped I loot the belt and see the nice stats. It's only now that I look again at the mobs name and realise this is the elusive Bilge I have heard tell of, not the guy I was after (Dwigus).
Anyway to top it all off I then hit track again and who is up but Dwigus, Karana bless his little cotton socks. The two must have spawned at very nearly the same time. So I ended up getting the thing I wanted and had a nice belt to show for my efforts as well. Very happy little halfling.
P.S. When I found Bilge he was about halfway between the fab four and the goblin camp heading south. He conned light blue to me at 45. Dwigus was found on the rock...I tracked him down and reached him just as he came out of the water headed east across the island. He was still dark blue.
Yes, Snare is affected by Affliction Extention. The "Affliction" line of focus items are not limited only to damage-dealing spells such as DoTs. Affliction focus items also affect roots, snares, DoTs, and debuffs (such as the druid spells like Fixation of Ro or enchanter spells such as enfeeblement). Essentially, nearly every offensive spell with a duration is affected by these focus items.
On the flip-side of the coin, nearly all defensive spells with a duration (such as SoW and other buffs) are affected by the "Enhancement" line of focus items.
It does affect Snare. I have performed many experiments to time the duration of my snares with and without my Affliction focus item. Keep in mind that Extended Affliction affects the MAX duration. For Snare and Root, the mob gets a small chance to break the spell every 6 seconds, regardless of the spell's maximum duration. So, you have to go by the maxmimum duration you can achieve with and without the focus.
Since druid DoT's have fixed durations (60 seconds), they always benefit from the focus.
Snare is not affected by Extended Affliction. It only applies to detrimental HP spells as in the description. Snare could be considered detrimental from one point of view, but I don't believe it is considered such by SOE. Regardless snare does not affect HP so it is not affected by this focus. I really don't know about Root since in a sense it is a detrimental HP spell. It also does not affect debuff spells that do not have an HP component. I believe this focus is really only supposed to be for DoTs.
Would it be possible for a 31 druid such as myself to try and camp him or should i wait till lvl 34? Right now my wis is 173 and im still wearing my small leather belt LOL. Also what im reading from all the posts tells me that he isnt camped a lot or would it be hard for me to try n find a camp even if i COULD handle him?
I would wait for 34; it should be a whole lot easier. You also shouldn't have too much problem camping him. Not a lot of people have the patience to wait around for Bilge to pop. I think most people, and this is what I did, just pop into Dagnor's and see if he is up. If he isn't go do something else. It took me about a week to find him up. I think I was about level 40 at the time and he was a cake walk.
Yesterday a guildmate told me about the PKT & I was like "I think i'll check it out. Well, I sat for a while & nothing (I'm not one of the most patient people either) so I thought to myself, with my luck this guy will never show, so I left. Then today I logged on after work around 6pm & I was still in Couldron thinking what am I doing here? Clicked on track & there was 'ol Bil runnin around like a chicken without a head. When I finally caught up to him I rooted & dot'd him. It was indeed CAKE as they say. He dropped was the belt. It made my day =)
according to the patch of the patch message, "The Affliction focus line should now only be affecting spells that do damage," hence, not roots and snares now.
Well, everytime I cast either root or ensnare, my Reed Belt sparkles. It may be that they fixed it so Extended Affliction doesn't affect them, but it doesn't look that way from the spam. Of course I haven't timed them to know for sure.
If the effect works with the spell, you will see a text message like :
" Your Reed Belt begins to sparkle "
or some such message. that will let you know that the item is used for that line of spells or that spell. If you see that message you will know that the effect is in motion and being used.
Grasping roots? I don't know what the higher spells do, but for my 18 ranger the dmg is an initial DD, not a dot along with the effect and thus wouldn't be affected.

I camped Bilge for 3 days, at about 4-6hrs each day. He spawned only once and Dwingus spawned 6 times. Dwingus was good exp for me at level 39(Druid), so that was a refreshing exp encounter. Also, good quest item for Clerics, good BP quest! Bilge dropped the belt witch to my belief actually sold easily for 800pp (terris thule server). He was quite easy to kill for me. Ensare, Fury of Air...Combust / Fury of Air...Combust! Might have been eaasier, but he was self-Healing. His nukes werent to terrible. God tired of waiting for POP, so left, but good news is, bring fishing pole and plenty of bait! Improved fishing skill from (0) to (165), got to love getting fish scales easily and for free (Endure Breath) and imporved swimming skill from (165) to (195)! Good luck all, hope you get the PKT! God knows I'd love to have it and may go back when im pulling KK fish and have to med-up in DC, LOL

Was running through the cauldron today looing for Dwigus for a Cleric quest and for the first time since I started playing (almost 3 years) I found him and got the belt. A great feeling I had when the belt showed in the loot window. Definitely a in the right place at the right time for this NPC killing.
I am not sure there is any way to make him pop. Its really just luck i think. And i dont think he has a PH, he is a 35th lvl shammie with Sow, he runs fast, so its not hard to find him if he's up, he's running around the zone. Also, he's a fast swimmer. And i noticed, even within range, i couldnt cast on him, i had to wait for him to aggro. So just have sow, and get close to him, after that he's cake, At lvl 47, i rooted him, and hit him twice with CaleFaction and he died lol. CaleFaction hits for 447dd, root is 104. so he isnt all that strong. Im not sure how he will do at ppl with lower levels. All i can say is, Try to hang out in the center island, across from the Unrest Ent, best place to keep checking your track, as he runs around fast, so if he's up, he'll be on your track, i hope this helps everyone.

This is a nice belt though, I may be wrong but I think it's the highest waist slot wis a druid can get on a tradeable item.
LOL! Are you an idiot? You take stat hits with the Paw of Opolla as well for one thing. For another thing, with one slot carrying so much of the wisdom boost, you can afford to drop some of yer other wisdom boosting items to equip mana boosting items, or items with higher ac. The totem is invaluable to almost any wis based caster. Taking 9 strength is nothing compared to the amount of mana that you will receive for 18 wis, and the amount of wisdom items you will be able to drop for mana items will make you extremely formidable.

I was just looking around possible zones to hunt in and named mobs to camp for good loot and this belt seems like one of the best wis items i have seen along with the Gatorscale Leggings. IMO the thing is worth around 800pp
The Rarity as of the time of this post reads "Rare" which isnt entirely accurate. Bilge Farfathom actually drops the Reed Belt almost 9 of 10 times. Bilge himself is a rare spawn which makes one think that the reed belt is a rare drop. Bilge's rare drop is the PKT (pearl kedge totem)
