These arent no drop, they do not stack, and they do throw, I have 5 of em on me and have tossed em for a laugh, they only sell for 7gp to a vendor too. Oh and the graphic is the same, maybe ya got something different. These drop off the stonegrabbers fairly often.
Well maybe the fact that you are all missing as to why you cant throw these (and please note the picture at the top of this is either altered, which i doubt, or these have been changed slightly since the pic was taken) is the fact that they are no drop...
I have spend the last three nights killing tribal gatherers leveling up my warrior and his cleric friend and seen dozens of these drop. They are also stackable.
Hmmm, a stackable, range slot, no drop throwing item. Got to be some verant logic in there somwhere...
I looted one of these and tried throwing it. Couldn't even be used, I started trying and it kept saying target out of range, so I kept inching foward, but before it worked it said to close to use a ranged weapon. So either bugged or maybe for some quest or something.
I've looted a bunch of these with my paladin but always destroyed them. They're big and bulky and don't seem worth selling, let alone looting. Is there a practical application for these that I'm missing? I thought a neat idea would be to award the thrower with an extra long stun against the mob that gets successfully hit with one of these things. I know I'd need a moment to clear my head if I had a boulder thrown at me.
Not realy, with a range of only 30 the only good thing I can say about them is that you don't mind throwing them away. (or just destroying them out of hand) My opinion: get a bow and a quiver. Even with merchant arrows it's much more useful than this will ever be.
