Ok, I finally got the Froglok Bounders to drop enough javelins for me to hand in my pack and I bought all the materials except the redwood, which I am going to Warsliks to forage around for, the thing is, does anybody know what your smithing skill has to be to not fail and have to do it all over again? I only want to do this thing once, if possible.

Well, I think the weapon stats suk. I personally roleplay with my Iskar a bit and I use 1HS. But this item can be worn on the back for additional AC. Who says you have to fight WITH it. I plan on completing the quest just because it is my guild thing to do. y'know?

these guys are right, if you dont want the weapon then dont do it please the point is not weather it sucks its that it is somehting interesting to do instead of the slash sit slash idea, every iksar has quests because it is how they make up for their down sides if you dont do them in the begging you dont get the really good stuff at the end, trust me im a 25 iksar Sk and i really wish i had done all those crappy weapon quests in the beging even though i am a twink because if i had now at 25 i would finaly get a weapon thats worth it so stick with it, in the end you will be happy

Finally got every thing, even that bloody redwood stuff, went to forge the head and ......didnt have enough skill's, lost my raw pike head, not important I can buy another, but I lost the redwood stuff so I gotta go forageing again. The biggest problem is the fact I had to hand my old pike in so I gotta start on my 1H slashing skills which i never bothered with before, this is starting to P*** me off, it took a week to find the redwood stuff last time.

When combining the redwood pike head and tool is there a chance that it wont make the pike cuz smith skill too low?

I am also at level 7, I have most of the smaller items needed, geozite tool raw pike head etc, but I have not found a froglok bounder that has not con red yet, so I may level to 8 or 9 before finishing it. Stuffed if I could find any of that redwood stuff tho.

I finnaly got this item which i have been working for scince level 3 and then a week after i got it i went underground and then died so i went back underground to get my corpse and when i looted it my footmans pike or my silver bloodstone earring

this weapon actually sucks pretty badly. only u can use it, its 46 delay, and 13.5 weight. speaking as a lvl 20 warrior- i say dont waste ur time on it.

I think this is a very good weapon... In the Rallos zek server you HAVE to do the quests if your a legit player (not begging all the time) or your basicly screwed :P by the time I get to lvl 30 i might have enough money to get something better then the legionnaire mantrapper though instead of doing the quest.

Well of course you'd say that, you're level 20. I'm working on this quest at level 7 and I don't think the weapon is that bad. Believe it or not, not everyone under the sun in Norrath starts life as a twink. Besides that, as long as it takes to forage the redwood, to get the weapons, etc, you can just be doing what you'd do anyway, hunt and level. It's nice to have some back story going on instead of just racing to the next level (which becomes more of a chore with every month I play).
Someone said it before on these boards... if you really want to know what being an Iksar is all about, you should do the quests. They teach you about where your place is in this game, and help you represent something other than just another gamer looking for phat lewt. Why's everyone in such a hurry anyway? When you get to 60, it all stops. Enjoy the ride and roleplay a little.

Hmm, i agree absolutely with the above. Even if i want to twink i cannot since none of my chars is high enough to survive in Kunark. ;-) Furthermore, the quests in Cabilis are much better designed than the typical 'kill x to get y', having a storyline behind all. And REAL roleplaying an Iksar is more fun than an ogre warrior or a human pally.
