No longer drops from Druushk. New revamped Druushk drops a clicky mage nuke item with a 15 min timer. Apparently the summoners staff drops from a mini named now but i dont know which one

Ok .. so anyone that have this item can post the DS dmg that the diamond have ? on some places i read it's 150 DS ... and some others say it's like shield of lava... anyone ?
Actually mages summon these and give them to bards... who in turn cast them on other people. If a bard casts it, the effect will stack with every other damage shield out there, including the mage DS.
Its for major melee targets. People who constantly question stuff are the many who never do crap in this game. They join some lame guild who cant even kill a kunark dragon.
Its very simple, you fight a straight melee target like statue of rallos zek and you have a 150+ point dmg sheild on hes gonna beat the heck out of himself on the dmg shield. THATs why this staff is so nice, its a major raid component that obviously some will never need. Gets old listening to people argue and flame an item simply because "they" dont need it. They simply lack the experience in the high end game to figure out an items true purpose
If you need to actually label something negatively (lame) you've got issues. Labels are the weakest attempt to convince someone of your "opinion" instead of use hard facts and data to convince your target audience.
You actually care whether someone should loot because YOU believe they need it? Well as soon Verant establishes a loot committe based on NEED I'll be sure to submit your name as a candidate (heheh yeah right)
What actually gets old is people who's self importance is measured by their gratifying belief in Uberness. They sit here filled to the brim in self importance because they in their eyes they can play "better" then others, they belong to guilds who kill gods, dragons and other Uber Nasties.
Here's a little insight, everyone is entitled to play for their own reasons. Everyone is entitled to have anything this game has to offer. Everyone is entitled to decide what in this "game" gives them pleasure and what displeases them. The simple proof of this is as soon as Verant STOPS charging a fee to play and they (the creators of the game) decide how your suppose to play it, (last time I checked their isn't a printed GOAL for this game) then and ONLY then will there be a guide as to Who can have what item (regardless if you can equip or not). The purpose for playing this game is (to reach Uberness, make friends, socialize, escape reality, be an *** with little chance of harm, show the world how immature you can be, show the world how ignorant you can be, etc, etc, etc) decide by each individual. Noone has the right to tell anyone else what their purpose is.
In the end (this game will end one day) you will leave with nothing, you will have accomplished nothing, you will have nothing to show for all the time you invested in this game IF you haven't utilized it's social enviroment to make long lasting friendships.
This is of course moot if you don't care about making lasting friendships and just play this game for the sheer fun of it and to pass time in mindless enjoyment.
Well Cantiz. Not everyone in this game wants to be Uber. Some of us join guilds because we like to hang out with friends. And just because these guilds may lack the member numbers to kill a kunark dragon doesnt mean they are lame.
From what I have seen the people with the NEED to be uber and calling players who dont have this need lame, 99% are below the age of 20, most likelly with some serious problems getting respect in RL...
And your point is taken, but since this drops in VP how do you expect them to get it? Enter the orginized "uber" guild. Sorry but in the end this game comes down to lrg guilds to play the high end.

well said..Uber is usually more like Goober, my guild doesn't regularly raid VP. What we do is hang out and look after one another, all part of "enjoying the game" and not setting out to "ownz joo all". There are many guilds out there like ours and we tend to find each other when the task at hand calls for a large party. In that respect i would like to thank appropriate people ... DFL =)
i am also on bertoxx, i am also a monk, and i also in a guild thats looks out for 1 another. (sentinels of grimspire)i think it is time for Cantiz to shut up plp r in guilds for different reasons, the plp that need to be the best r in "uber" guilds, while the social ones are in guilds that do more comunity service and social kinda things, like scavenger hunts. i think that every1 has a different PoV and this is not worth argueing over
I wish they'd give casters the ability to weild items like this in the primary or secondary hand. I mean, the fact that all depends on duel weild is really dumb. I don't want to hit stuff with it, I just want the stats. The fact that I can't hold it in my left hand because it's a weapon is dumb.
This would explain the high level mage i saw the other day in the Freeport newb yard.
He was walking around and kept stopping by the newbies. A few seconds later the newbs would glow. Saw it like 3 times. I wasn't close enough to read the actual wording on the spell they were using, but given this i'd wager the guy summoned a few of these stones to help the newbies clean house.
It worked by the way. On the way out i don't think i saw 1 frikkin MoB till the edge of FP/EC.
Not necessarily. Mages have good Damage Shield spells available anyway, so tossing on a DS on a newbie can help -- but only if the newbie can hit the creature before it kills itself on the damage shield. Otherwise, it poofs, no experience. Quite frustrating for the newbie....
This item appears to be quite useful... Even though it interferes with stein, it has 15 int and 100 mana of its own. Also, just because you are using an items effect (summon lava diamond) doesnt mean you would have to keep it equiped. Example: Mage with this staff summons 100 lava diamonds for different people, starting 1 hour before a raid. Everyone has the lava diamond who needs one. Mage removes staff and equips the alternative. When a mob that casts an AE fire spell is going to be engaged, everyone uses their lava diamond, and the fight begins.
This would have limited use though. The lava diamond would only be used once per raid if you wanted to give one to every person participating. Although, 20 in a resistance can be the differance in 500 damage that kills you and 400 that doesnt.
This stave summons a LORE + NO-RENT item with one charge of the lvl 49 Magician spell "Shield of Lava". The Lava Diamond can then be handed to anyone, and is useable by anyone.
"Shield of Lava" is a 25-pt damage shield that lasts for about 5 minutes.
The stave's usefulness has been debated on the Mage Compendium for some time... its nice at first glance (you save mana), but: 1. The delay to make one diamond is longer than the time it takes to cast the spell that is on the diamond 2. Its a 2H item which interferes with more useful INT items such as the Stein, etc.
Lava Diamonds are unstackable, lore, norent items that give a ~5-minute damage shield and 25 resist fire bonus similar to some mage damage shields. You have to target yourself when using the diamond. They're fairly handy when fighting a fire-based ae. Prior to the fight the mage can drop a couple dozen for people to pick up. Mage DS's the big tanks and everyone else munches one of these when the mob is incoming.
The staff looks like the cow skull ontop of a semi-translucent staff.
