when making a purchase the item has a line that says "level to attain". If it says 50 does it mean you have to be level 50 to use it. Also, i am a level 14 druid and would like to upgrade my equipment. If you can help me let me know.
I've read all kinds of discussions about -cha does or doesn't affect fears. Something I wonder though, why is there a lot of -cha stats on NEC only items? Something to ponder.
I can confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt. Charisma does NOT affect fear or screaming terror. This question was asked to the head magic dude at the last fan faire and he said "NO" Thanks,
Have you noticed that all of the pieces are all all. Furthermore have you noticed that they all have -cha.
What is -cha good for? Fear. It is erroneous to believe that positive charisma +cha is good for fear. The opposite is true. -Cha is good for fear. Of course ALL abilities scores have had their impact on spells and such watered down since release. But, for a moment try this, try to take your main ability score and take it to 300 or 400 and then test out its effects. And the best way to do this is on high lvl mobs that have their codes much different from low lvl mobs.
Now this set is great for necros and (if they realy wanted to) SK. but for an enc this set would be next to death. Ability scores don't matter that much but all +cha spells would take a nose dive i predict. Someone please get a full set and post here as to its effects.
Quickly a full set of this is -52cha. On my High Elf enc that would render around 40cha. This is below the 75 benchmark for all ability scores so I imagine all hell would break lose for an enc below this. There are also held items with -cha.
Aren't Necros supposed to WANT the negative Charisma hits? Correct me if I'm mistaken, but I believe that the lower your Charisma stat, the better your Fear duration? Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the negCha are there as a BENEFIT rather than a detriment, heh.
I'm going to do my best to dispell a myth AND avoid flames with this post, but I doubt it will matter much:
To the best of my knowledge, there has been no substantiated proof thus far that lower CHA helps with negative charm-type spells (Fear, Screaming Terror, etc.) and I doubt Verant will ever confirm one way or the other. Several people have conducted "tests" using this method or that, but when test #1 shows PROOF POSITIVE that it does help and test #2 shows PROOF POSITIVE that it makes no difference, you have to question the validity of each. My "test" has been 20 levels of fear kiting, necro mezzing, and CHA ranging from about 25 up to about 85 based on the different items I've equipped. As far as results go, the only truth I can give is that NOTHING is going to aid a necro in his/her fear-related endeavors more than lots and lots of levels and practice.
Sure, the neg cha is a huge crutch when making large purchases (Coffins, Peridots). However, for a necro a full suit of this wouldnt be all that bad. Nice INT bonus on the armor, not to mention every piece I have seen so far has Stamina and STR. Necro's can always use more HP, and more STR for holding all the phat lewtz from pharming. :P
