Any monk who can get this has other options for haste.. If your in ToV... The monk has epic, an so on and is set on haste... If your in ToV you have to have a with with efensive tanking... The war will do less damage output.. You must do everything for the war to help them taunt.. The best haste items go War first. A CoF or RBB doesn't cut it here
Um, so you wouldn't rather have a CoF, which most likely has the same haste value as this + resists? Ya know, there are some massive +str/dex belts that could take the place of this with a haste cloak/gloves/boots. Take that into consideration and re calculate, or better yet go to ToV and watch a warrior that knows how to work a dragon

Posted:Jun 08 2001 at 3:07 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) CoF doesn't cut it? Are you mental? 36% haste on a CoF and maximum item haste is 40%. So unless you went to school in the US, you can do the math and figure out why a CoF costs upwards of 75k plat

Might I bring up a little incident called WORLD WAR II. Without us, the rest of the world would be Germanys, Italys, and Japans. Your parents or grandparents would have gotten the gas chamber. Now, consider that you would never be here without the Americans. Still wish we never existed?
Ok Well obviously the guy above is a moron! The Celestial Fists is a Song Therefore it stacks with such items as CoF and other Haste items..Which is why Monks need a second haste item and they are Max Hasted all the time. So next time you try and make a comment get your facts straight...As for rogues and Rangers too bad your Items are spell haste and not song haste..kinda sucks.

It would be nice for a monk, it would be nice for any hybrid, it would be nice for anyone that could use a pile of int, wis, or haste on their waist. The world will be a better place when they take inventory slots away from monks altogether and make em quest for new abilities instead. Just because its the best piece you've seen for yourself, doesn't mean it will not bennifit someone else more. If I happen to be on loot council, everyone that it legitimately upgrades gets a shot. this item would be weighted toward melee types, and heavily weighted toward hybrids imho
Why the heck would I give it to a Monk- you guys think that every item "has to be given to a monk". and frankly if you're that sorry a class that you have to have every magic item you should get a life and another character, every time I see monks crying about need the item, why dont you see warriorsa- whom have fewer abilities. But it's the monks that must really be a sux class to have every one of them crying about items like this.
You, Mr. anonymous, obviously have no clue. No monk in their right mind that has the power to go there would even consider wearing this piece. Give it to the hybrids.
Just because some lvl 5 newbie thinks this is a great monk item, it doesn't mean every other monk wants it!
I would NOT want to wear this, our guild's hybrids can make better use of it.
Oh and while I'm at it: Please, n00bs, stop posting about who should get to roll on 50+ stuff. People who raid for these items don't roll.
Just my 2 cp
Ronaan 56 Master (that's monk, just in case you didn't notice)
Good point, because everyone knows that awarding items is so much better, and many times more fair and balanced. I would hate to see the game if I couldn't get any item I wanted because I am close friends with my Guildmaster.....err wait no I wouldn't. It might be nice to see the new guy get a break once in awhile....

There is NO SUPPLY of these on the open market. Therefore there is no demand on the open market. Hense, YOU WILL NOT GET ONE OF THESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So you still need your Flowing Black Silk Sash.
Follow your reasoning concerning supply and demand a bit farther. No, these high end haste items will never flood the market, but the old DROPPABLE haste item that a player was using before he got a high end haste item will be sold, so you can roughly expect that for every two high-end haste items to enter the world, 1 FBSS will re-enter the market. Given the rarity of high end haste, don't expect a sudden drop in the price of the FBSS, although eventually the Norrathian economy is headed to a pure barter system where plat is useless because the market is flooded with every item you can imagine. Fortunately it will be years before that happens, and so don't expect the FBSS to drop below 5k in the next 6 months. After Luclin, who knows.
Qalarea Telenatheril Cleric of the Drinal Server The Gathering of Shadows
I think the point being made was that there are a LOT of new Haste items. A LOT! And not just for your waist either. There are all sorts of new haste items, maybe 1/4 of them droppable with a better % than FBSS and obtainable by 50-55lvl groups. The price change won't be much, but the number of new haste items is as significant a change in the haste market as Velium was for jewelry. Who remembers when a Platinum Sapphire Necklace ran you 800 plat, when you could actually find one? ;P
Now why exactly would high end equpi, of ANY kind affect the price of lower, when things like this are NO DROP. The people will just sell their lower haste (FBSS, dragonborne(sp) etc) for a twink item, or just give it to a twink of theirs, most likely. Not like high end things like this can not be traded or sold, and are on tough enough creatures, that it's not like everyone over level 50 or even 55, etc will have on on them. Aka: high-end dragon-level NO DROP items should not affect the price of items that have similar effects or stats on them at all.
Example.. you get a NO DROP item that gives +15int 50mana for your neck in a GM event.. is that going to lower the price of erudite heart amulets, BIM's,, or saphire necklaces? erm.. noppers, sure will not.
most of the dam item whores I've seen always sell the items for plat or trade anyway. (AKA the dam cleric that always wins the fbss time and time again)
If you can get into ToV you will have haste already, most (on BB at least) have at least dragon level. The area that this belt drops in is not exactly a xp group area, takes a full raid force. It will in no way affect the price of low grade haste items
I doubt there will be much of a decrease (although I have seen FBSS down to 7kpp on my server, rather than 8kpp). Most of the people who can get these are already wearing high end haste of some sort. There will be some ripple effect, but don't go expecting a 50% discount on FBSS. Still a lot of imd 40s who can't get anything else.
