Check out ((Ctrl-F)) Smithing Vendor "Boiron Ston"...he's got these items for sale. He's located down the hill from the Spirit Shrouds npc.

The dagger blade mold and hilt mold appear to be on a variety of vendors (not necessarily listed).

Playing on Time-locked progression, I can confirm that Jenna Smith (weapons), In West Freeport, loc= -55.55, -1428.04, -136.57 sells both items pre-Kunark.

She is at a tent just north of the Ashen Order building for the loc and /find impaired.

Thanks to eleventyfive's post (way down the list) from 2006 that helped me get to her to check.
Component Vendor
# Nov 19 2008 at 6:57 PM Rating: Decent
All the necessary components for this are in the smithy on the 2nd floor of CR. Smithy Azibo sells the Hilt and Dagger Blade molds and the small brick of ore is available from, among others, Smithy Yahya.
Skinning for druids
# Feb 22 2004 at 7:31 AM Rating: Decent
Hmmm...I think I'm right in saying that the skinning knife can't be used by druids right? Anyone know how a druid is supposed to skin pelts down? Aside from finding someone to do it for you I mean...

thanks :)

My druid uses this knife to skin down pelts. You don't have to equip it, just combine with the pelt in your tailoring kit.

Okay, I got a Skinning Knife and put it and A Wolf Pelt into a Large Sewing Kit, hit Combine...

You cannot combine these items in this container type!

Am I doing something wrong?
RE: Broken?
# Jun 21 2003 at 10:20 AM Rating: Decent
If it's not working then it's not the correct type of pelt. I use mine all the time with no problem.
RE: Broken?
# Jun 21 2003 at 10:19 AM Rating: Decent
You have to make sure the wolf pelt is either HQ, MQ, or low.
Buy it somewhere?
# Mar 22 2003 at 8:15 PM Rating: Decent
Can this knife be bought from a vendor anywhere?
RE: Buy it somewhere?
# Mar 26 2003 at 1:34 PM Rating: Good
I put like 5 for these on my vendor in the bazaar, at 10pp each. They took FOREVER to sell, so I don't stock them anymore.

My trader slots are better used for other items that give me a bigger return. However, fillet knives DO stack, so I might just start stocking those.

Nope, player made only, unless someone sells one to a merchant.

But, with a 41 trivial, you could probably make one yourself in 10 tries, even with zero skill.
will buy!

I will pay 10pp or more for this! I am on the Rathe, names Mikoh!
id pay at least 5pp for one.

just to let you know,my alt right now would KILL for one. and I cant get em anywhere. im desperite, I might make her start smithing JUST to make her tailoring more available. it would help a LOT to be able to lower the grade of a skin. Then again I just learned SKIN and PELT were the same, thought SKINS were used for bags and whips and stuff... i dind tknow it was a simple name change.

You have discovered one of the joys of trade skilling. *smiles* There are a lot of inconsistencies you have to learn about along the way. Another thing you’ll find is that if you plan to take any trade skill to 250, it’s very handy to work many of your other trade skills to about 100 or so. Many times your trade skill of choice will require items made by other trade skills. And being able to make them yourself is much faster and cheaper than depending on someone else to do so.
price of knife
# Apr 07 2002 at 1:14 AM Rating: Decent
What price should I sell skinning knives for...or is there a demand. I know on this site it lists price as 11pp but know that can vary by server..I am on the nameless. Any info would be appreciated.
Dissappearing Knives!
# Jul 05 2001 at 11:43 AM Rating: Decent
Does anyone have any experience of these things dissappearing from your inventory like they're no rent? I have had three of these knives since I started the game, and the first two mysteriously dissappeared from my inventory. I thought I probably accidentally sold the first one, so I made a new one, but it was gone too in a just a matter of 30 minutes or so, and I know for a fact, that I did not sell it, because I hadn't visited any merchants in that time. My third one, is still around, but it has only been a day or two. I'm confused as hell!

I had a Combine Smithy Hammer dissapear on me, but I suspect I left in a forge in Freeport by accident. I went back to check the next morning, but the forge was empty.

If you try to combine the knife with a named pelt (eg. shadow wolf pet) you fail and the knife is destroyed. At least so i am told. I have never personally tried it. Perhaps this is what happened.

Dagger blade mold is available across from the inn in west freeport, in an unmarked building. The hilt mold is in the building (blue) next to the tavern in east Freeport (actually back door to import shop), around the corner from the armor shop. The Ore is at Grolflah's Forge in North Freeport. The recipe is:

1 small brick of ore (which weighs 15 pounds, get this last)
1 Dagger Blade mold
1 Hilt mold
1 flask water

Combine in forge.

I have a blacksmith skill of 40, and with 102 wisdom succeed about 1/3 of the time. Have succeeded twice out of 6 tries. Could be good or bad luck, but that's my experience!

Update: with my blacksmith skill at 69, I succeed most of the time now.

Couldn't find the hilt mold or the dagger blade mold in freeport on the progression servers, So I went to Kaladim instead! Up the stairs of the everhot forge, Bndainy Everhot sells both items.

took me ages last night to find both dagger and hilt molds. One I got in Velith & Bardo Imported Goods in E FP and one in the Smithy in W FP.
The Ore I got from groflah's in N FP (and it was VERY heavy).
