Dont worry about wis on your druid if you play long enough that will probably be the first thing you max out the other stats will become much more important re: resists, manna, ac and others and you will have a harder time building those.

It's not a matter of getting more wisdom. It's a matter of getting that wisdom concentrated into fewer slots, freeing up space for those other stats.

EQlizer says that it drops off random drakes... can anyone conferm if it drops off random drakes and if so can it be off drakes of either faction (Giant or CoV)

Drops off of random NAMED drakes in North TOV that love to flurry...OW (only a few named drakes btw and all in NTOV and all the class shields can be found from these mobs)! Flurry on me = dead in one one flurry, then everyone around me gets to hear: Belijor the Emerald Fang executes a flurry on Spuzy's corpse! Hehe! Warriors go down fast on flurries...hope they have defensive and lots of chain CHers and baby druid heals!

The resists just simply aren't as nice as a Lodizal Shell Shield for Fire / Cold / Magic.
It is also missing the enduring breath effect... so at what point would you use this shield? While farming junk / exp'ing solo and then just use it for the +wis/mana/hp and ac?

Its a great shield... I guess I'll wear this one in my shield slot and Lodizal shell shield on my back... time to retire my White Dragonscale Cloak =p

I've never played a druid, but i admit they've been shafted on this... it's just the cleric-only Shield of Dragonkind, w/ all the stats lowerd considerably.
Oh, i take that back, the cleric one weighs two, & this thing only weighs one -Not ALL the stats are worse. =P

I have this shield, it rocks. I still have my SBS in the bank but it's got a thick layer of dust on it now... I will probably not concern myself with an upgrade to this thing.

this shield is ****** awesome for a druid....33ac and 12 wis and 20 mana....what more do you ******* want....epic in one hand ...this in other is 32 wis....that means you can use more ac and resist gear in other slots you newbie ******** so shut the **** up

After playing 3 druids on 3 different servers, I completely agree with this. The most important stat for a druid is Wisdom. If you want to argue this, you probably play a melee class, or don't know how to play a druid properly. Once you get over 24th level, you should melee as little as possible.
As a druid, you can only wear leather armor (or bone at later levels) so you don't have the AC to stand toe to toe with anything that will give you exp. This is why kiting is the most popular way to solo as a druid. For kiting, the more mana you have, the more likely you are going to survive if things go badly. You don't need AGI/DEX/STR to Snare, DoT, Blast, blast, blast, med, then repeat.
If grouping is more your thing, the extra Wisdom and mana will mean that you can heal/buff/port more people without having to med. When you can charge 10 pp or more per port, this allows you to make more money with little downtime.
So, to recap for the newbies, Wisdom is the best stat for a druid. If you think otherwise, you haven't played your druid long enough. For more information regarding how to play a druid, I'd recommend www.eqdruids.com.

Way to go there with playing three druids, now how 'bout playing one of them to a level that might allow you to know WTF you're talking about. Obviously wisdom is the most important stat, but past 200 it doesn't make much of a difference. So then what do you do? Keep going for wisdom items that are now doing **** for you? No, you aquire gear that will improve your other stats which will do something for you. I would rather have 200 wis and have my other stats well rounded, than have 300 wis and get my $h*t kicked every time I tried to do anything but cast/med/cast/med...

Heluva lot o ranting going on here guys, Im a 59 Druid... I got my epic and Im just trying to Upgrade other items to round out the high end aspect of my toon... Im sorry to say But Apart from Stamina then the only other stat as a Druid you should be counting on is Wisdom ... Str is a convenience so you can carry on Quadding for longer without having to bank after a lengthly ammount of Quads, Agi well Im pretty much not wanting to get smacked by my Quads and if Im getting Aggro for nuking or healing too soon in a group then I deserve a wee smack, Dex well i would love to see many druids honestly say they use a lot of Proc Items Most druid Items are Right click, Cha again a convienience for shopping ect and int well basicly counts for nothing as a druid... So Before anybody Jumps on my back I say this Shield Rocks and Wisdom Counts no matter what lvl Because at the End of the day as some guy said earlier With this shield and your Epic you Gunna be hitting 35 Wisdom 130mana and +17 to all resists ... 35 Wisdom is not to be sniffed at that bascilly means you can shop around for you resist gear mana gear ect ect... at 54th + You should be looking to have a Backpack set aside with full resist gear anyway Blue diamond bracers froggy crown ect ect ... and as for Wis/mana doesnt count in the high end game... Lol you tell that to a Tank who's just lost his cleric in the group and has you non stop healing him with your baby heals or to a group without a cleric in it taking aoe and having you keeping there health all topped up... I tell u Wisdom/mana/and resists are all that matters to a druid at the high end game.
After 200 wis I went after Mana items but now i even go below 200 to get my resists up. cause its no fun to get hit by spells that do 600hp then die in 3 hits 8(

ok ok ok... i admit it. I blew this one... but it's not my fault.. this shield was listed AFTER the cleric shield. I had my temper tantrum before reading this one. I am a tool, I admit it. My apologies. =)

When you are able to fight in ToV, your STA/DEX/AGI doesn't matter for crap compared to WIS(as a druid).

Umm...actually stamina is very important to all classes in velious. Yes, resists are as well, in fact VERY important but when mobs are quading between 300-1100 damage (yes, that's 300x4-1100x4) and you have self buffed 2k hp you will last one half a round or maybe one full round with full hp buffs on. If you're fighting in this section of ToV or any section for that matter (unless you just started fighting there) you'll be max wis. Currently I have over 230 wis and don't really have any way to lower it to make up for other stats so I change out things to make hp/mana gear in the place of items that are serving only as ac or wis or even str (self buffed I have 174 str, not really necessary for a class that has 47 base weight with no cash on me, hehe). And no, AC won't make up for a mob with atk rating in the 1500+ range, with full buffs I achieve over 1k ac and still get hit for full damage 90% of the time.
Resistance are more important than STR/STA/DEX and AGI once you go to Western Wastes and beyond
