Aftter Verant Nerfed the original Katanas that dropped on the planes, they seem to have brought them back (with penalties). Who cares about -10 to your resists...by the time you are uber enuff to get this you have uber resists. This thing is super fast, light, and it adds 50 to STA (thats mucho HP and STA bar). If it has the katana graphic it'll be even cooler. Too bad it is no drop...if you sold it to a merchant, they'd probably sell it back at a ridiculously low price since it has more minus attributes than plus attributes. Imagine stumbling across a vendor selling this for 50pp?
Lets see.. my stam is at 113 that is as High as I could get it being a Hum SK without sacraficing other stats.. lately I am gathering stam items to balance my str and int.. Sure I am not the most perfect balance for a SK.. but I live just like most others. Now.. any of you number crunchers out there able to tell me how many HP I could acquire using this?? at say level 60.. since that is when I would be able to obtain it most likely. And a small note on the neg effects.. Unless you are raiding multiple mobs at once.. You are missing maybe 10 pts from 2 or 3 important resists.. not all of them.. and for me.. 10 from magic and fire on a Fire Dragon raid.. would seem to make a small impact 'specially if I have my fire/magic resist gear on.. so in stead of 115 FR i'll have 105.. and MR instead of the current 65 i'd have 55.. UNBUFFED. Not sure that would hurt all that much.. but then.. the only Raid I have actually been on was Naggy.. and I lived through the raid with 85 FR at the time and 30 MR UNBUFFED.
The name is perfect. It causes you pain when you use it (besides having an excellent weapon ratio to cause pain to the MOB) by reducing your resists. Sorry...it's just the RP in me. And I'd agree that your resists are probably SOO pumped up by the time you are completely buffed for a dragon raid that these minuses won't hurt too much (but there are probably better weapons to use on a raid).
The amount of stamina you have doesn't mean squat. Your skill in the weapon does. I have a Human Ranger (don't ask why) with 106 stamina with 1 hand slashing maxed at level 53. I also have an ogre warrior at Level 36 with 1 hand slashing maxed, and currently 178 stamina.
The Warrior actually loses stamina faster during the fight faster than my Ranger when I use a wurmslayer. It's all dependent on weapon skill.
Notice if you take a level 50 character and make him jump in place 5 times. He loses around a bubble or so of stamina.
Now take a level 1 char and make him jump the same amount of times and you'll see the exact same stamina loss.
Vary the races that you choose for testing, so that you can get different stamina values and such, and you will see the exact same thing every time. ( I got bored one day and tested this out, so sad!)
It's not dependent upon weapon skill, it is wholly based upon the weight of the item. The reason you lose STA faster is that you are swinging a freakin' heavy weapon in your primary hand which does the bulk of the attack attempts...
Incredible weapon for survivability overall. The resists won't always be a factor even on dragon raids, as you might get your resists high enough for it not to matter.
Niiiice.... I like... except for the resists. Don't take this on a dragon raid, unless you are REALLY in the mood to be obtaining a *****-out by your guildies.
