woo ha for variations in mithril armor... who cares? 2nd.. this BP is great however bp of eradication has more hps therefore would be more suitable for a pal/shd/war and what not.. hp/ac king... everything else can be buffed out... the ac on this bp is very nice

Mithril is just a metal, like steel. 'Breastplate' means its plate (usually), so in theory rangers can't wear it... though they can wear the normal Mithril BP, so I find this odd nonetheless
ACTUALLY... Mithril comes in Chain and Plate. Just so happens that this is plate (hence, no rangers). It just seems that it's kinda wierd that the only Mithril Chain in the game is Player made, has low AC, little stats, and REALLY hard to make. (not to mention that they only have +wis/int and svMagic)

Honestly do you people have nothing better to argue about than what items can fit into what containers? If you ask me you all need to be put in a container so that you can't go around infecting everybody else with this nonsense!

This is the updated version showing now for the True Mithril Breastplate, the old one was like 37ac or so incase you are wondering what all the posts below are about.
I guess it would probably go to any of those classes with a worse BP. Not particularly good for a cleric, but if you've got high wis from other things, then it'd be nice. Don't see it as being outstanding for any of those folks, however.
you can't say it's really bad for a cleric either, as many clerics can get 200+ without a wis bp, and can even keep it that way. the dex and agi are useful cause if i recall derx is for not being interrupted and agi is for not getting hit, plus the amazing ac
Lvl 2 rogue been to ToV 3 times. Killed the Avotar of War solo. But I had some nice buffs.
Now all I need to do is find some banded armour, does anyone have an upgrade to this rusty dagger?
BTW, did anyone mention this BP is pretty awesome? 20agi and 38 ac. That is pretty awesome. Wonder if it is random or drops from a certain mob. These are the things us 2nd lvl rogues need to know. Since we can where this one and all. And I got a new brass earring too.

Nother example of an item with stats but is NOT magical is a crustacean shell shield. Has stat modifiers but is not considered magical i.e. cannot bash mobs which are only harmed by magical weapons/attacks. You complain about too many flames and no info on this board, then you prove yourself a hypocrite, slag off!!!

Since when do magical items have to obey common sense laws? They're magical, they don't, that's the idea. If it was normal, what would be magical about it. Everybody's so quick to try and make themselves look superior to someone else. It's even more entertaining when they bash a valid point and it backfires on them. When you're perfect, you can start insulting the rest of us.

you see thru the history of EQ many items you would consider to be "big" are tagged as "tiny",its something thats been going on since day 1.im not exactly sure why they do this, but every other patch you will see an item move from tiny to large or giant. last one i remeber is the giant tree flayer being changed from tiny to giant. anyways not to flame but imho i dont think the kind of backpack this item fits in is the key issue here folks, would seem to me that if you were interested enuf in this item to follow the link and then acctually post then it wouldnt be in a bag held by mort and gage now would it?
You see the TINY on the pic...that's the NOT THE SIZE OF THE BP (or any equipment). Normally I wouldn't get upset when someone "ASKS" about this, but to assume you know and be so totally wrong (without asking), well it's just sad. So that you finally know, and don't make assumptions anymore, the TINY is the size of the container it fits in. Now, I know you are going to say, "Well, if it fits in a TINY container, then it must be TINY itself." Well considering this: the new Lance of Thunder is a MEDIUM. It's probably 3 - 5 times the size of a breastplate.
My apologies to those that knew this already, but these guys need to learn sometime and harsh discipline works. I went back and read the posts 3 times and still couldn't find a reason NOT to flame them. <goes looking for his meds>

Posted:Apr 10 2001 at 9:29 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Ok if you really want to flame someone, how about flaming yourself? How does an item fit into a TINY container without itself being TINY? Or maybe you're accustomed to fitting your breastplate into your wallet? It's physics, dear lad. Unless part of the object phases into another dimension, if an object fits into a container, it's pretty safe to assume that object is SMALLER than the container.
Y'know, there's no law of physics that says anything about something fitting into a container that's smaller than it is. Technically, the waveform of the larger object can lie within (or mostly within) the waveform of the smaller object... but if you're looking at it, of course, strange things happen. Of course, all of physics is based on circular logic, so what does that tell you? Not much.
First off, Nos is right on this. The size is the size container the item can fit into. Second, you are being just plain stupid now. Of course, a breastplate wouldn't fit into your wallet, but who said EQ had to follow common sense?? This is Verant we are talking about here for Christ's sake ;P. This BP is one size fits all, and fits into tiny containers. That's why it's called *MAGIC* =)

I mean SO WHAT if people dont understand it? Does it make them evil or bad people that deserve a flame? Man I mean it if this is enough to get you ticked of, you need to talk to somebody...
O.K. guys you are right. It isn't the size of the armor it's the slot you can fit it in... Hehe But, you can't blame them for not getting it... It does sort of make sense that the size of the container would indicate the size of the Item but, since when is anyone expecting Verrant to make sence...
Sheesh how ignorant one can be... The size on item desc screen shows ONLY the size of the container it fits in, not the actual size of the armor. I'd suppose that during those 50 levels you'd come up with some better guesses then this.
Check thru your current equipment. If you are a barb/ogre/troll, you'll notice for your total amazement that many if your items have a similar flag a la "small", "medium" etc, what at least trolls and ogres, if it would have been armor size, could not wear. Check some weapon, which by 'feel' is a small weapon, yet it cannot fit into the backpack. Why? Check the desc of the item.
It's the container size that item will fit in, not the equipment size when it comes to wearing/wielding it.

Despite all the flames this poster is making the perfectly reasonable point of the incredible melee items now available in the game compared to when it first came out. Combined with the other relative upgrades melee classes have had this has seriously unbalanced the game at high levels. Since these melee classes are also required for all the raids they're also in line for upgrades which Verant will need to provide to keep them interested. It's not the correct forum for it but you can see her/his point.

Verant and thier "Vision"(tm) have sticks shoved sooo far up thier butts, they don't even let some of the hardest items in the game to get (PoA) have stats that are very good. Most the really rare and really nice stuff has been nerfed or will be after someone finds it. AC 97, you'll be lucky to EVER find anything higher than what's out now. /bonk

I fully agree with ye Mr. How many of these do you think their are? anything ac57 is gonna be hard as SH*T to get...don't ya think? If it is hard as SH*T to get, then this would be one of the few instances VI hit Risk=Reward. If you don't have 1, SHUT UP. The Mrylokar's Dagger of Blood was severely nerfed just because some N00B of all n00bs WHINED that a 12/16 wep with +5 to a ton of stats and procced Feast of Blood INBALANCED the game. Now, if this was "easy" to get, sure, it would have inbalanced the game. But since it drops off Vulak somethin or other there's like 1-3 per server....MAYBE, NO it does NOT imbalance the game. Whoever managed to pick anything like this up wouldve had to BUST THEIR BALLS to get it. Read up on Vulak, and you'll get PISSED when you read what that newb invoked upon the Mrylo Blood Dagger, and how PISSED it made Ruluvien.
