I have had this item since I was lvl 20 and I am now at lvl 48, however I was wondering if there were any better pieces that I could buy, or possibly quest for that anyone knows of? OH, and btw, I am a cleric with a deity that goes by the name of Bertoxxulous LMFAO!! It's my first character and I didn't know, at the time, that you could/had to pick a deity...
Thanks for the help...and yeah as I said I didn't know at the creation of the character (mind you it's my first time ever on EQ) that I had to pick a deity, oh well. I have looked through many quests and it seems that I am just going to have to wait until I hit lvl 65 and get some AA's and flags... from all that I have gathered so far, gear and wealth comes with lvl's and flags. Patience is a virtue in EQ I can see. Thanks again and good luck to you on your adventures.
You can get lots of money if you research the market, especially check /barter to see what items are most popular. You can usually find items on NPCs for MUCH less than the buyers in Bazaar will offer. Ex: Bazu Blood...NPCs sell them for 2p and buyers usually offer 500p to 3000p for them. Blue Diamonds can be found on NPCs for 262p each and buyers usually offer 300 to 350p each. There are many more items like this that you could buy/sell. Some are very cheap to buy(Dark Elf Parts 1sp each sell 5 to 15p each). My point is,wealth does NOT come "with lvl's and flags" if you research effectively. I make 1000p easily within an hour of joining any server.
"Knowledge is the key to success. If you want to succeed at anything, you should research as much as you can about it."-RWM
You play a cleric and dont know that you have to choose a god to pray to ? *boggle*
Anyway, go to the bazaar on your server, set the search definitions of class to cleric, the stat definition to mana or wisdom and I would suppose the min and max amount of cash to the desired limits.
The bazaar offers you the perfect platform, as it allows you to simply right click any item to see its stats in that list.
To answer your quest related question : There are numerous quests out there, too many to name them all. Try using the search function on allakazam to look for some cleric helmet and look if there maybe one that is questable.

This is a good item no graphics which is a plus for me leather caps are for dorks and noobs. I am looking for better, shopping the Bazaar, I can find nothing better. Anybody have a better item for this slot please post.
By the pricking of my thumbs, I have started to bleed!!!
A very kind Dark Elf (wow... what an odd combination of words) was giving these away to newbs on Christmas Day in the Bazaar in Torvornius Server (yeah, I know, crappy spelling, my bad).
Anyways, I don't remember his name, but want to thank him online.
When I went up to Luclin to try and find a replacement for my Runed Circlet I found a trader selling these for 100pp each. He had 9 or 10 of them so I guess he figured he'd recoup any losses he might've taken more quickly.
Anyway, I'm glad for the upgrade, and although I really don't care much for the cosmetics of what gear gives what appearance, it is nice to see my beautiful flowing black hair and not have it hidden by the helmet appearance that the Circlet gives off.
Stats play the only decisive role for me when regarding a prospective piece of equipment. Getting a good look out of it is icing on the cake. But, mmm, icing can be good too. Lol.
this is the perfect item for me. had a runed circlet before, but since this doesn't show I can show off my cool long, gray hair. used to take my circlet off, just to look cool. now i can ALWAYS look cool...
bought it for 600 today.generally dont pay for it much, its players created and they usually are glad someone pays em at all :) he offered me to make it for furs, but i dont kill othmirs so i rather payed some.6wis is excellent,i got 204 wis so i throw away my gatorscale and wear uthork legs so i dont look like a noob.also got rid of ES helm which looked flappy.cool stuff.
WEll if this looks like leather, along with my Shroud of Nature, Gator legs, and plat armband, i'll look like a real n00bie =) Oh well, at least the RMBs and ES gaunts should give my hard earned 46 lvls away. Oh, and with my Lumi Staff, the low lvl look seems to be for me...
Well to me fashion is just as important. If it looks like a leather cap then no thanks. Plat tiara still seems better once you are firmly over 200 wis because of the better + mana.
this has the almost the same stats (wis and agi wise) as the Square helm, and is selling for 1k, so another words people r selling the square helm for 17k more because it has 9 more ac, what a fricken joke.
i made some of these, its very time consuming and at a triv level 250+ i failed ALOT. ive had no trouble selling for 2500p firm. ive been trying to buy othmir furs and no one sells them. the mana cost to make vials is huge. a few chanter friends have made them for me but i cringe to ask. and as people find out about these caps prices might actually go up as materials go up.othmirs dont drop furs each time but you do take a faction hit each time and its from the only merchant group in the zone. im proudly wearing my first othmir cap, others will be sold as i make them to others that recognize there worth.
wow that is a ton i was in the bazaar to day and i saw one for 200pp 1/10 of what you payed. i was about to get it but i need to start saving for lvl34 right now all the spells are 20pp and there are 15+ of them. thats my oppinion sruy if it was a waste of space.
Yeah yeah I know its posted but I know more. 2 othmir furs (not stacked) 1 cap pattern 1 silver thread (purchased in thurgadin) 1 vial of clear mana Vial of clear mana requires a poison vial and an emerald. Poison vial can be purchased in Firiona Vie at the rogue guild and emerald at any jeweler shop. If you want this vial of clear mana and the enchanter you know doesn't have the spell you can find it at the brownie camp in lesser faydark. Use wolf form or get someone to share wolf form to purchase the spell there. Enjoy :)
Just want to say that this item rules today i spent 25min in permafrost and got a runed circlet to replace the zorans cornet i had and it made me drop 3 str in the process so while raising the4 much needed wis it is always nice to raise the other stats in the process and as far as the price goes i would probably pay between 500-1000p
Yeah they drop off Othmirs in Cobalt scar but I can't get anyone on Brell to sell me 2 lousy furs. I'm not sure what level making othmir fur caps becomes trivial but I have all the ingredients except the furs. Good wis items come from othmir furs do not throw the furs away :)

Fluffy never really tells me stories to teach me moral lessons, nor does he recount childhood hardships to help me find my way in life... He's never worried about the existence of a god, and I sometimes worry when his eyes glaze over when I ask him about the meaning of life... But when I can't figure out a logarithmic function on my homework, or how to set my VCR's date/time, he's always been there for me. He's the brightest otter I've ever met. But these are Othmirs. They are some of the least intelligent critters in Norrath, but I hear they're pretty keen on all that esoteric Othmir stuff. Othmir shamans are looked upon as mentors to all the future oracles of other species, friend or foe. Even the othmirs who specialize in the fighting arts know a thing or two about mixing a holgresh ear, and some tizmak blood. Their lack of intelligence, however can be seen in their choice of armor (mostly oyster and conch shells)... But don't be misled by their shortcomings in the area of- well most thought processing in general. For if you cross them, they can teach you the meaning of life, or death, with the uttering of just a few magic words... =)
Be safe, all, and remember to leave some time for a little RL!=)
Othmir Fur armor is made from the fur of various Othmirs in Cobalt Scar. The Othmir warriors and shaman are around 40-45. There are othmir pups, but I'm not positive they drop the needed furs. For the cap you'll need the following:
2 Othmir Furs [Velious] 1 Silver Thread [Velious] 1 Cap Pattern 1 vial of Clear Mana [Velious]
You can purchase the thread at the vendors in Thurgadin. The clear mana is made with an 29th level enchanter spell that requires a poison vial, and 1 emerald. Combine the components in a large sewing kit, and do not stack the furs. Good luck, you tailors! Hope this has helped:) Be safe, and leave some time for RL.
One quick correction: The vial of Clarified Mana is produced by a level 29+ Enchanter with the spell: Clarify Mana. The spell requires a poison Vial (NOT a sealed poison vial - just a plain old regular one) and 2 Emeralds.
Calbasil Psyrex 51 Illusionist of Terris-Thule The House of Silmindo
You can purchase the poison vial in Firiona Vie but I don't remember which npc I purchased it from. With 75 Cha it was 1.9 plat. The vial of clear mana only requires 1 poison vial and 1 emerald. I had a friend use Clarify Mana while holding each item and it worked. Just need othmir furs now :)
I'm yet to see any "Poison Vials" in FV, however I have bought them in the Windmill of Lake of Ill Omen (from Nubbs Blackgranite while my Ranger was working on exp from level 14-19), and in the "Secret Tunnel" entrance in Wfp (from Toxdil a DE vendor who refuses to sell to any non-evil race). 1.9pp at Toxdil (indifferent to my Iksar Monk while working of FP faction) and 1.9pp from Nubbs at first and 1.3pp when my ranger left Loio last time.
Poison vials can also be found in WK (merchant at barns near NK zone) and I believe in Dagnor's Cauldron on the hill. Not to mention they're a commonly-made item to raise pottery skill, check vendors wherever clay/sketches are sold.
Clarify Mana produces A vial of clear mana when cast, it uses 1 poison vial and 1 emerald. I made two of these yesterday for a 52 druid who gave me a medicine totem for them... hmmm. <$?$?>

Pretty useless for that lvl, and prob most lvl 20-30 that might want em wont pay much for em. About runed circlet price... Too bad they dont have a fun look like fez's the otterman had... prob could sell it to people that want to look like shriners but no....
Yes, Druids will want this item. But look again at the stats. The thing only weighs 0.4 and has Dex, Agi, a few HP, and a little Cold Resist. This wouldn't be a bad head piece for young Monks. In fact I suspect that there could be quite a few monks who will want one when they see how they are.
But factor in the cost of the item and I think youll find an exe hood or the like to be much more suitable for monks. As it is now to get tailoring above 115 you have to have cultural tailoring, and the highest skill tailor I know only has round 130 skill..... I bet this will sell for at least 1-1.5k NS wreath on Quellious still goes for 700-1k and this is obviously better (for wis casters) than it is. =P
Let's not forget that the next coolest druid head gear is the thurgadin/kael druid head gear that you have to be lucky, meaner than hell, and not easily bored to get. or very very wealthy to buy the individual pieces. this gear you run to a vendor. buy the fur, beg a tailor or better yet drop em some cash have em make it and boom! i've been hunting for the cool gems for the thurg quests forever and have 1 whole stone to show for it. and i can't even use it. =)
I don't see how this nice item is a waste of time. I personally know at least 2 dozen druids alone that would pay good money for a head item with +6 wis. Not to mention the shaman and clerics that would love it too. I know my cleric would pay nicely for something with stats like this has.
are you retarded? this is way better then the NS wreath that I have at 46. definatly not a waste of time, and definatly a good item for those ppl not in large guilds that can go to planes.
I'm wearing a Nightshade wreath. I'm one of the higher tailors on the server, and I'm hunting in Cobalt almost exclusively for this. Cobalt Drake cloak is nice too...
This is NOT a waste of time. Primarily, druids will want this. Aaaand... seeing how there isn't exactly a shortage of druids around, this has good sellability.
OK then, the next question is what will you pay for it? This requires a decent amount of money plus the othmir hide (about a 1 in 10 drop) to make. No one knows the trivial value yet, but its over 160 so far, so the failure rate for even masters tailors is 90+%. Question to druids, monks and other interested -would you pay 200PP for it? 500PP? 1000PP? Just seeing what its worth. I may go try to make a few, and trying to get a feel on its value.
