I spent a few hours tracking down Sample of Highland Sludges in the hopes that this combine could be made by hybrids. I, a ranger, can confirm that this can be made by hybrids. I simply combined 1 Sample of Highland Sludge + 1 Gnomish Heat Source in my Hybrid Research Kit, which gave the message indicating the combine was below my research level of 154
This combine can be made in a Hybrid Research Kit, but not with Sample of Highland Sludge it must be Sample of Filtered Highland Sludge as shown in the Crafted section above. Hand Jorlan Hegeway in Abysmal Sea the Sample of Highland Sludge to get 2 Sample of Filtered Highland Sludge in return.
