The monks only need one for their quest, the rogues need three for the burning rapier. So, wanting two, it probably would have been a rogue. I got my first decent pile of plat this way myself, selling a few for 40pp a shot. :) Blew it all right away on new & better weapons & armour, of course. ;)

Actualy it was a rogue...realy high one I might add, I love selling them skins for 50pp, my boyfriend sold one to a ranger for 100pp one time...ugh if only I wasent in kunark then =(

Just wait in Icewell Keep when high level guilds are killing these... these are pretty common and lore item so you can just loot one! =0

There's actually TWO types of "Velium Round Shield" available. The cool one listed above, which I didn't see on sale anyplace in Thurgadin, and another one that just has the regular Round Shiled graphic, but is 8AC 5.0 weight and a minor SV Cold boost.

Considering what these actually do, people seem to think they're worth +500pp just for the looks. If you want one, just wait around Thurgadin looking through all the merchants, they sell them for 50pp.

BUT the chitin sheild isn't magic (therefore bash isn't affective on magic mobs) and 2, the velium sheild weighs only 0.5, which is very nice
(plus it's just so much cooler looking, hehehe... oh well, i'll stick with my marr's promise and crested mm anyways)

I got one of these shields off a named NPC, Normon Stonecutter (I think was his name). He's in the tunnels in Thurgadin where the scuttle bats and tar goos are. Myself, 44 Shaman and a 40 Warrior and my pet killed him. He was tough, he resisted all my spells. The warrior had to take him out and I went oom just keeping the heals up but the warrior died and my pet finished the NPC off. 8(

Also, I have gone back to visit the NPC many times and I haven't seem him with another shield yet.
As for faction I was amiable so the one kill didn't hurt my faction.

This thing looks so cool, o btw u need better then amiable faction to get quests, except for the crappy giant toes quest. Kill giants, or drakkel dire wolves (which have a lot less hps) and you get the same amount of faction. Do the toes quest and you get the same faction but it goes up for the dain. So easily fixable, now if I could just get high enough to solo these suckers...... =)
Not sure if this was intentional or not, but I saw a druid of 56 or so and a 55 ranger standing on that kind of a ramp on the way to the pally guild easily pulling one of the two guards there with these shields in the thuragin city zone. These guards are green to my 52.
I think they were waiting until a roaming guard passed on down but not even sure if they had to do that. The shield you get is the exact same one listed here. All those dwarves outside the pally keep in town have them.
There is a bar nearby where a guy runs out looking like a caster dwarf and a bunch of others chase him in some triggered event (i guess a large part of what the dx7 graphics lagging update was for...) All of these persons ignore the dwarf killing also. The druid basically dot'd and snared and junk and ranger just beat it down.
Nice shield for cold critter raids, specially for druid, shaman and cleric kinda since apparently easy to get by high levels. They more or less fix their faction by killing more giants.
I did however notice something in the inadvertant dwarf faction hit I got, you lose faction with "the dain." That is the dwarf ruler who is in icewell. Although apprehen to all the dwarfs in the city and in the keep, the dain and others in the throne room were all glower BEFORE i took the hit. Been kinda scared to go back now ; )
I am currently only indiff with regular dwarves and still can't get the quests you probably need amiable in the city to get ("i still don't trust you enough..") so i can't tell if they raise the dain.
