Not a bad weapon at all for an untwinked ranger in their low twenties (or even mid teens) to start saving look for. Reliably pops critters for 30 and can almost breach 50 (this with a ranger with 90 str) plus its reasonably light-wieght and sells for a reasonable sum (bought mine for a 100 pp). Add in the nicely detailed graphic and this most certainly beats out a BIBS. Now to find twin cryalline swords and a good piercer and I'm all set for weapons until atleast the mid-30s.

This is a great weapon. One of the Best you can buy for 100pp.
This sword is better than the Blackend Iron Bastordsword (BIB) and the Langseax of the Woloves (LOW). Before Kunark you would pay at least 400pp for the BIB.
Sure there are better weapons out there but not for 100pp

I got one off a frost giant scout yesterday... it was visible while he help it.
The scouts are low 30's but like most giants have about 2X the HP of a typical melee mob at their level and hit about 1.5X harder for the same exp.
But it's fun to kill them for a group of 30-40 level range people and the exp will be decent (like on a scale of 1-10, a 5.5)
Anyways the people that go 'such and such is junk' have small wee-wee's. This sure beats a BBC which is the 2 hander someone at level 20 would have within reach on their own... so a lower level person getting ot even buying one for cheap should feel well twinked for the 20's :)
Ignore when these petty individuals rant and enjoy what you got, especially if you helped kill the mob yourself. Have fun and enjoy all your levels and loot; don't feel you are killing time till level 60 cause if you feel that way then hit 60 you will be sorely disappointed.

These swords and their relative the hammer are not always visible. My group looted 2 hammers and 2 swords in one afternoon. Only one of the swords were visible in the giants hand. So if you're chasing giants who are holding toys, chances are you're going to get velium. If you want one of these weapons, just kill all giants, toys or no, and one will show. (fyi, we also looted an ice reaver. it was not visible on the giant either.)

people who have attitudes like Lucotos is what makes it difficult for us new characters to get anywhere or feel any sense of accomplishment. These twinked guys with multiple characters in the 20-50's respond to half of my price checks saying "oh thats a piece of ****." well no **** when you compare it to these great weapons these people have picked up over ridiculous amounts of playing time or from their guilds. i have a drakkel forged, and i payed 100pp, and i felt like i had really achieved something. I'm a first time char and i just made lvl 20, i bought the sword around 17, and it is a f-ing awesome weapon for us mid lvls and its relatively inexpensive. i worked hard to make that kind of money while trying to maintain a decent armor set up and attempting to be relatively generous with my dark brethren newbies. I know you big guys were first timers at one time, don't ruin it for us. thank you.
oh... btw, if you know a weapon with that kind of ratio for around 100pp let me know, cuz i doubt there are many.

Right now man!!! people on websites rush to say items are crap. Yes when you have high lvl characters (which i do) twinking, items like this do suck, but if your on your first character this is a very nice two hander , and with the cheap price you can get it at a lvl where it isn't crap

I'm only 16th level right now and I've gone from using the SBH to this and I must say it's a huge improvement. I paid 120PP and being I won't be able to go to Velious for a while I considered it a great price. Funny how "common" mobs in an expansion can drop items that where once considered very good drops in the "Old World."

i got this sword when i was lvl 17 i would hit for 28 to 30 when i got lvl 20 i instantly started hitting for 40 to 43 far better then my axe of the iron back. weights less too this is a good sword. doesnt have a proc or any buffs but hey what do you want for 125pp (i got mine for free)

It's not a super sword, but I wouldn't call it garbage. Hell it drops off a level 33 so it can't be that great!
Just came from a regular old Frost Giant Scout, our group got one on our first giant we killed last night. hehe
It does have a really great look to it. Very unique.
If nothing else it makes a great twink weapon!

Keep in mind that not everyone is level 50+ and has all the good toys EQ has to offer. This is not a bad weapon for up to levels 30 or so.
Just my 2cp.
