I just started playing on the Rodcet Nife server(been on Bristlebane since '99) and my first day I found this sword in the Bazaar for only 50pp!!!! I nearly wet myself when I saw it;My heart raced as I hunted down the vendor;and I danced for joy(literally jumping out of my chair) when I purchased it!
Thank you,whoever the vendor was(I was so overwhelmed I hit reset button on my comp;it was still on me when I logged back,but vendor was gone).
Just goes to show,you never know what you can find for a bargain.

I guess I'll have to count myself very lucky, I purchased this Sword of the Morning for only 800pp. Now all I'm waiting for is the appropriate level to use the procs on it!

I can tell you for a fact that this sword did NOT proc for me at level 49. It first proc'd for me at level 50.

Sword of the Morning procs at level 50. The weapon procs a 50hp direct damage spell and a 6 second stun. It's very useful when tanking as I commonly like to chain stun mobs. Excellent for keeping the aggro. With STR buffs I have managed to hit for as high as 76hp in damage. It's an awesome addition to the Paladin's 1H slashing ******** I will be keeping this one for a long time. I paid 2500pp on the Rodect Nife server.

At level 41, my Pally (alt) is getting hits up to about 62 (dex 203)with an average in the high 40s. Looking forward to seeing this thing proc... only 50 damage but the stun will be a welcome addition. I bought this sword when my pally was about level 15 for about 1.4k and have been very happy with it.

I just purchased one of these yesterday on Ayonae Ro for 1,000pp. I have Haste Belt so I'm kranking out about 20 dmg/sec optimum (not including damage bonus). Very nice sword for 1K. I need to get about 4 more levels to get the thing to proc for me though. I'll post again once that transpires and clue you in on the frequency of the proc.
wow seems there are alot of good deals out there on this. I myself just bought it for 1800pp on the tarew marr server. Our average price is between 4-5k for this. The guy was just auctioning it off. I think he upgraded and didnt really feel like hanging on to it. I turned around and auctioned off my centi longsword (magic) for 1600pp..so i was out only 200pp for this great sword! I have the sword on my 45 Pally.
I have 2 questions:
1) 2 people have said that Tisha's Clash Procs on this weapon at level 1) 50 and 2) 60. Can anyone confirm the level when this Proc really does go off? I can confirm it doesn't at level 45. I was told 45 was the level for this and it keeps telling me my "will is not sufficient".
2) I have seen the posts that say Tishan's Clash does a 6 sec stun and 50 DD. Can someone else confirm this?

Yes, the proc is ~6 second stun and ~50dd not resisted often and the +dex helps for more procs :)

The sword was being sold for 100pp. Can you believe this? Is it possible? Am I making this up?

For those of you who don't have Luclin yet, I implore you to get it as soon as you can if you'd like to easily find items to make your PCs much more effective.

I bought a sebilite scale coat in the bazaar for 15pp. It was not on a trader, a guy was auctioning it. He then went on to sell a set of donal's vambraces for 25pp.
All cheap deals are not typos. In this guy's case, this equipment was stuff that too him was "too junky for his twink". He apparently didn't want to just destroy it, and didn't want to encourage beggars, so he sold it cheap.

That was almost certainly a typo by the person selling it. I've seen lots of crazy deals in the Bazaar... 400pp for a Thick Banded Belt, 250pp for Tribal War Boots, to name two. Sometimes it's hard to tell whether someone accidentally entered the wrong price, or is just overly desperate to sell their wares. In the case of the TBB, that was probably desperation, but the TWBs, I'm fairly certain the seller intented to enter 2500pp. But the deal you described takes the cake. :)
On Tunare, the Sword of the Morning still sells in the 3k-4k range... normally. Even though it doesn't proc until level 50, this weapon will easily overtake the damage output of a Wurmslayer by the mid-30s. And it looks pretty sweet too, especially when paired with a Sarnak Battle Shield.

Wurmy stinks to this blade for one 40 delay is slow i dont care of its 25dam 40 delay you will do more damage with this blade.
Ive owned one for a long time first off proc is nice as it is a big time taunter.
60 is max you have done? At upper levels ive hit for upper 80s with it.
And last you dont have to depend on haste for this weapon.

After 45 you shouldn't be using wurmys, but before then they rule....
About this proc'n for 80... uhh this wont proc above 60... it can be partially resisted and hit for under 60, but it never hits for more.

For damage/delay, you can't beat a wurmie. The most I've seen this hit for is in the mid 60's. Usually it hits in the low 30's. Wurmie hits tops in the low 100's, and averages in the 60's.

You must have some crappy strength or something. My 22 paladin has a Sporali Defender's Blade (17/37) and he averages about 38 dmg per hit, max hit for 46. He is slightly twinked with 154 str using yaulp but that is all. Get some more str items before you post some average damage on good weapons and say they stink.

Wow.... 30k, 25k, 17k, 7983pp? You guys are on the wrong server. I payed 4,000pp for mine on Druzzil Ro. Oh, and for all you dwarf paladins, don't waste your money on barbed ringmails, and other crappy stuff. Look into some enchanted dwarven armor. High AC, +str, +sta, SV fire and magic on every piece.

Hi I play a Pally on the new Antonius Bayle server, bought one of these for 7k at lvl 47 and lvled fast till 49, but what happens is that i see the frustating message "Your will is not the sufficient to command this weapon" and then i go mad, it's me or the sword prod has been put at lvl 50 51? Thkz to everyone who helps)

.. on a side note, you also get to use a shield.. and there *are* some seriously cool shields out there these days. More AC, stats, and you get to bash. :)
yes u do get to use a shield which is why many pallies prefer to use a 1hs over a 2hs, but now high lvl pallies (lvl 59???) get 2h bash which will completely make 1hs weapons insignificant.

Even with two hand bash, one hand slashing won't be insignificant. Using 1hs and a shield gives your ac a nice boost. I use 2hs when I'm mostly just trying to dish out as much damage as I can, and 1hs with a shield when I'm tanking.
Well, you have to spend quite some time getting AA exp before getting to the 2 Handed Bash ability which is a Level 59 one.
Anyway, I always have an 1hs set and a 2hs set with me, the 2hs more strength = attack + damage oriented, the 1hs more AC oriented.
The 2hs set I use when I am not the tank and
a) am not supposed to get aggro
b) want to deal damage, which is better after 51 with the increased 2hs damage table for Paladins
The 1hs set I use when I am the tank and
a) want to have as much AC as possible
b) want to do as many attacks as possible (because the number of successful attacks influence aggro from my knowledge)

You can always use Flash of Light and all of the stuns paladins get (Stun, Cease, Desist, Holy Might, Force....), and normal taunting to keep aggro. Nothing like magical stuns to get monsters psd off at you. I have noticed how sensitive those Umbral Toilers are to stuns. Many times I have only stunned them once while they are on a warrior, and I get serious aggro. Sheesh calm down little alien! lol

There *are* better weapons out there, of course... but that can be said by practically anyone. Very few people will ever get "the best weapon in the game" for their class, whatever that may be... and even then, people will argue over ratio and bonuses and procs to no end.
End of story is that this sword is ungodly. Uber. L33t. Ph4t. Superpimp. Whatever you want to call it. First off, it has a better than 50% ratio, at 16/27... in *ONE HAND*. I've had Warriors and Rangers alike screaming about how they'd give up to four times the price of the Morning for a sword like it they could use. Even though paladins can't dual wield, the fact that this thing is fairly quick helps paladins contribute to taunt (which is the main point of tanks on raids).
Then you see that it has a proc that does a fair amount of damage.
Then you throw in the fact that it's a stun in addition to damage. Stuns are not only extremely useful, but they're also high-degree taunts. Any paladin knows this.
Then you add in the +10 Dex on the sword, which (among other things) improves proc rate.
.. now, are there better swords out there? Uh, yeah. However, there's *ALWAYS* going to be a bigger and better thing to use, particularly with Luclin coming out. Paladins, worship this sword if you get the chance to nab it. This is a taunt machine as well as whipping out great damage. Best of both worlds. :)

Im trying to gather loot in FM with my Guildy Pally friend, for one of these. I dueld a Pally with one and it proc'd like 9 times. its a 6 sec stun and 50dd dam. Pretty nice! BTW the pally kicked my ***** but thats ok. prob more fearsome fighting high HP mob's. High Agro, but thats the point right?
Futhermore peeps in Inny sever is selling them for 8k. I think Pallys should get discounts cause they are so Honnorable class. "as long as they play there char right" Pallys are cool.

As for players. Yeah paly's should get discounts... but ow wait.

I have always wondered if I should buy an SoM or a Frostbringer. Well my decission was made and I went for the SoM. OMFG, I love this sword. I have used it mainly in Velks because I have only had this sword for 4 days, but it produces mad procs. Damn, I have even added divine might and I proc between 4 and 8 times or more per mob in Velks. And with me casting both stun and holy might, not to mention bashing with a shield, as well as Tashan Clash and divine might proc... casters beware

Hehe.. I was in HS with my guild.. And me being the only pally was lucky enough to get a guardians mace.. 14/24 proc guard bard/pally only.. Ne who, to my surprise.. I found out the mace was worth ALOT of cash.. So, I sold the mace for about 11k.. I need'd a better BP, since my EBCP was about 30lvls old.. So, I purchased a Froggy Bp fer 4k + my old used,worn EBCP.. So bout 5k..
Then.. I was running through WC with my alt bard, and saw, "WTS Sword of Morning".. I figured hey, I'll ask'em.. I say "How Much".. HE tells me 8k.. I'm like OMFG.. Ne who.. I paid him 7969pp for it.. It was a chanter, guessing with a twink warrior, cuz she ask'd if I had a lammy to trade..
Ne who.. hehe.. I went and tested it out on Sgt. Slate.. I got about 15 procs in that fight.. That doesn't include the 2 procs that didn't stcik, and doesn't include the Divine Might procs... My Dex is 140.. So, I get boon'd and I'm sure this will proc like mad.. hehe
On a side note.. I think we pallies should rally together and get VI to make Boon and DM stack.. For those of you who don't know why it doesn't stack, it's because Boon has a spell based proc, and DM is a spell based proc.. I would much rather have the DM then a life tap.. hehe
And the other peep who posted there are better weapons out there now it right, how ever if your in a small guild and don't get to raid places like Sleep's,ToV this is prolly the best 1hs you can get..
Ne who, sorry for rambling on.. Just really excited about getting this weapon.. Have fun..

First of all this sword has a proc of 50DD stun. Which is a good proc. Next yes it procs a LOT. And with boon it procs like mad, BUT you cant have boon and divine mignt, they dont stack. Anyways basically this sword is real good against caster mobs that are below 55. Most mobs above 55 are unstunable so the SOM is bacically worthless. There are many other 1hs out there now that have a better dmg/dly now. No drop darkmetal falchon, dragon-claw shard, sword of blessing, and ToV weapons galore. Of course those weapons are much harder to get except the sword of blessing. A no drop sword in VL.
