I'd rather have Narandi's Crown and spend 500 points getting the see invis aug from North Ro LDoN vendor.
Seems a lot of the Ornate Armor is priced VERY high. I have no clue why. My Beastlord Has Narandi's crown and loves it. The Ukun handler's gloves are only 4AC less and sell for less than you'd pay for the embroydery needle and seal.

grobb cap is better if your gonna melee, this one better if your gonna sit and cast, level 55 minimum for item turn ins for the armor tho doh

The stats are much higher net-wise on the cowl. sta 3 hp 45 is LESS than sta 10 imo. and you lose a bit of wis but come on youre more interested in fighting not nuking with your 450 nuke rofl. and last but not least you could put a 300 aug in it that has +5 to all resists if youre hooked on the resists. Does this helm have a graphic? Just got a pattern and trying to decide whether to give it to my druid (when she hits 55) or my beastlord.

This does not have a graphic on my Beastlord or Monk...
Which one would you go for? This one or the Grobb Hide Cowl (AC12, STR10, DEX10, STA10, WIS6, MANA15)?
The Headdress, without question. Better stats, HPs, mana, resists, and a useful effect to boot.
I had the Grobb Hide Cowl and I liked it even more! Besides that since an update my gamma doesn't function anymore and such vision spells don't work either (due windowed mode) the Headdress sucks for me. 15-20k on my server for the pattern and 3-5k for the cowl... I would chose the cowl every time again.
Sure you will missing the HP/Mana-Boni and the Resi well, but you will get the higher boni for the more important stats on the cowl.
I updated later directly from the cowl to the Crown of Narandi.

You cannot go wrong with this. All decent stats and not only does the effect allow you to see invis and help vision, but your stamina will stay much higher so you dont have to bother with casting acumen on yourself all the time. One of the best you can get without the need to have tradeskills.
