or maybe the 20% focus of neurotoxin is just enough to make up for the complete resists or partial damage that tends to to happen w/ this spell... critical (34) on a trash mob, or having a fire beetle in EC completely resist it (dont laugh, its happened at least once to me) and dont ask me why i was nuking fire beetles, I was bored..
Mana Preservation IV works on almost all spells, not just beneficial ones. Mine "flicker with a pale light" every time I nuke, dot, etc. The Lucy entry that says "Beneficial" means the effect itself is beneficial to you. The spell types it is limited to are listed in the 4 description slots.
If you dont have or like these gloves it's only becuase you aren't in a true raiding guild. These are perfect for chain casting neurotoxin which in a lot of raid situations is about the only thing useful we(necromancers) can do. Also now indespensible for LDoN since most mobs dont last long enough to justify the mana of a dot. I find that neurotoxin is commonly the only damage dealing spell I use during adventures.
The post above is exactly why I got them. I cast Neuro 2 times per LDoN hard mob, doing appox 7-10% damage each cast. Recently took Lord Mithanial Marr down and when not twitching clerics I chain cast Neuro. Along with the Gallenite's Sapphire Bracelet you can deal out some pretty good damage in a few minutes of burning.
Anyone who says these gloves suck doesn't go on adventures a lot. 20% mana reduction on that nuke means every so often you get a FREE nuke. Free nukes are good when speed counts. Nuff Said.
It IS just for neurotoxin. All caster gloves have basically the same effect, they reduce mana cost on ONLY ONE PoP spell, a nuke for each class, for wizzies its awesome, its for strike of solusek. The effect blows for necros.

Melee class gloves should only grant + attack to ONE type of mob if you follow that reasoning. Or limit it only to 1hs weapons or something stupid like that. The focus on these is crap, and any necro that knows how to play their class will have no use for them for the most part.
As much as I'd like to have the mana reduction for neuro, there are much better gloves for necros. I'm currently wearing Ancient Shissar Gauntlets and losing 14 int and 6 sta just to save an extra few mana on a single spell just isn't worth it to me. Especially since there are so many pop mobs that resist Neuro. To top it off, I'm an ikky necro with regen3, seduction of saryrn and Vorshar's sleeves so the mana saved would be pretty insignificant.
Aye, the cleric gauntlets have 20% reduction on Condemnation and the gauntlet effects will not stack with mana preservation IV. Kinda boggled by the lack of imagination by Verant on some of these pieces. A pretty lame effect on the gloves for many classes compared to the other armor effects.

The fact the Mana Preservation IV works on beneficials spells only, per Lucy's raw spell data, makes sense it would not stack. Try to have all the information before posting assumptions. Others might not be aware that you do not have accurate facts.
Ol' Fiel Exarch of Nightwatcher "Res'ing the Seventh Hammer, one corpse at a time ....."
Mana Preservation works on ALL spells up to it's levl restriction, which I think for IV is level 65. Could be mistaken, all my chars are below 60, but the point is it works on beneficial and detrimental spells.
Errr although your post was made ages ago I would like to point out that you are in fact the one who is wrong on this occasion, the thing your talking about is the raw spell data as if you CASTED MP4, not the effect it has on other spells, i.e its benifical to you and not detrimental (and to be honest why would MP4 be detrimental?).
Look at the list under the focus says excluds CH and thats about it.
Just thought I'd clear that up.
