Beastlord

Does anyone else find it a little odd that this item is listed as Beastlord wearable when the three races that can wear it can't be a Beastlord?

elvin chainmail also enchanted

The elfin chainmail listed is the none enchanted version which in accounts is a waste of time as the skill needed to make this and the fact that the temper for it is the same needed in the encahanted one should make the time makeing this and not the enchanted one pointless.
You need the essance of moonlight for the temper for both and at the skill needed to make both types you should know or have a chanter that can enchant the mith, and enjoy the + to wis and int that the enchanted version gives
As to the items to make both they are the same other then the enchanted ore for one and not the other, the temper is still two parts essance of moonlight found in Mistmore off the vamps in game night time at the castle and in kit forest found to drop from of all things the enraged and dreaded wolfs, and one part swirling mist found in staemford mt off steam elem, found near mino cave and elem, in nejena off the mist elem, the last one part is foraged in greater fay, morning dew this combined in a brewing barrel will give you one temper, add the temper and the other items needed to the highelf forge found only in felwith and hope :) and you get a item of magic wearable by casters and noncasters alike of the elf race.
I hope in some way this has helped anyone looking to go thu the pains of smithing and does some good to you in your quest to be the best you can be.

Crafting the High elf smith way

For those of you wondering various things surrounding smithing and trading:

1. complete recipes are found on http://www.eqtraders.com .
2. to be a smith you can completely get up to 175 right in freeport. You must be able to zone into north and east freeport.
3. beyond 175 skill you need to proceed to high hold pass. buy large medium quality block from the 2nd vendor near the bank. 3 blocks and 1 water make a medium quality brick. 1 medium quality brick, smithy hammer, and 1 water make one folded medium quality sheet of metal. Bank about a full back pack of sheets and then proceed to where ever you need to get molds.
4. small/medium freeport
small kaladim
large halas/oggok
5. start with gorget then move on to bracer all the way up to cloak which should take you to 242 skill in fine steel.
6. after that is cultural.
7. mithril is found only in felwithe the high elven city. You must enchant the mithril brick itself if its to be enchanted. You then proceed with smithing as normal.

I'm not at cultural yet so I'll keep you posted. Oh and trading can always be done. You should go post on the forums at http://eq.castersrealm.com.

molds, ore, forge and bank are all at the bazaar in shadow haven. just buy lots of water outside the bazaar. all that stuff is withing 50 yards of each other. best place for it now.
Trade on the Rathe Server?

Would trading a Dwarven Ringmail Tunic, which has better stats, be reasonable for this item? I am new, so not sure about the economics of the game yet.

Thanks for any help.

Considering the thousands of plat and hours of work for a shirt like this versus the time and expense of getting a DRT (20pp or few hours camping) I gotta say NO...

However I am once again vindicated in my opinion that Verant has screwed smiths...

hehe, i dont even bother trying to auction off the fine steel i make while trying to skill up. i just sell it to the vendor. i put in some feedback that i think it would be nice for us to be able to make something better than the racial. all that investment in time and money (cat pelts, spiderling silk, waiting for steam elementals, etc etc etc..). and i get something that everyone says, 'oh that looks nice, ill wear it when im not fighting!'. yep, if youre into fashion, we're your 'tailor'!! maybe an upgraded version?
one ingredient

I would like to find out where to get the mithril rings that I have been reading about. It is in every elven chainmail recipe, but I can't find anything out about it! Please let me know, I'd like to get this started.

Yes i make this armor. I have a ranger that wears a visible set and it's sweet. Not easy to make tho. If you want some and are on the E'ci server, look up Eterno. :)

mostly. u need rings from large bricks (i think). use elven hammer & proper forge. liquid is moonlight temper, player brewed. get patterns & start smithin. also, imbuing the bricks makes imbued chain

the enchanted requires you to enchant the bricks of mithril (49th level enchater spell). imbued require you to imbue emerald (cleric or druid of tunare can do this. dont know the spell level). you can also do both and get the best stats.

the moonlight temper requires 2 essence of moonlight, 1 vial fo swirling mist and 1 morning dew. brewed trivial at about 132 or so.
