Planes of PowerDropped 7/15/09 on the Al'Kabor (Mac) server off the Captain. Funny thing is, the proc'd pets cast Divine Aura on themselves if they are still up and not in combat, like in between fights. I do not believe they proc the dd/stun found on the Pally epic swords - The spell effect seen is generated by the proc itself.
All I can say is thank God for server resets and thank my guild, Temerity, for getting me fire flagged not even 24 hours prior to me getting this awesome drop :)

Zoned in, floated over the wall. Ran down the stairs and Sorcerer of Fire jumped me, durn see invis. Killed it and he dropped it for me. Need to head to the casino now!

Would a DOT extension piece of gear make the pet last longer since its really a DOT type thing and less of a pet?

I will have this soon....yes very soon....
I've been checking Fire for 2 weeks now since I got access. Have yet to see any of the mobs which drop this up. Do they have a PH or are they just a random spawn like one of the named mobs?
I too have been seeking the 4 mobs that drop this item. I would like to know if the mobs are completely random pops or do they have a static place holder? I'm thinking that they are static only because one night my group killed the Sorcerer of Fire and then the next pop in the same place was the Sorcere of Fire agian. Now this can be a random occurance but I'm hoping its not. Any information on where these mobs spawn if they are indeed Static would be great. a general discription of the area would be great like on the group floor, up in the tiers, in the little buildings. I got the Socerer twice on the bottom south-eastern tier and the Charmer on the top north-western tier (not 100% on charmer I didnt pull him, but he was up the stairs). Thanks

Captain of Fire also spawns in castle 1. dropped the spear this evening on Prexus. Was funny we were getting rdy to split after being there for like 3 hours hoping for the Beastlord swarm weapon, and then rgith as we were getting rdy to leave he spawned and aggroed. luckily he agg'd the ranga first vs someone important like the cleric :P j/k ranga's :)
The are random named in castle 2. All are red but can be done with a group. AE group can wipe out the whole castle other then casters at one time. For named though you probly want to bring in tank since they summon.

well actually this thing is damn rare ... I killed 30 named in castle 1 made about 150 AAs and saw 1 spear ...have fun camping =)

I'm camping this weapon for more than a month now, killed the captain of fire once, the charmer of fire 5 times & sorcerer of fire 3 times, 9 guildmembers were happy to gain a charm of defense for free....
I hate to say it, but I got this weapon because I was poking around in PoF and it was rotting for a C1 group.

Anybody know some info on this into like spawn time or is he just a random spawn from killing them at castle 1? Been there for 3 days trying to find him up and not having much luck any info would be great.

I use this wep as much as 70 percent of the time. The stats are almost as good as my Ornate Greatblade, and the damage is almost as good as my Resplendant War Maul. So it's a nice compromise.
The pets (and I've seen 4 and 5 going at the same time when I get lucky), weild our epic, BUT I have no way of telling where our epic proc STUN SHOCK procs for the pets... if it did, it would be hella great for interrupting casters. I just don't really know a way to tell.

This wepond way out damages those weponds because the proc takes like 500 damage off and you can proc 4 pets at once.

Turn on all spells and watch for the message of it going off "%t is burnt by the wrath of the heavens." When I'm slower I always have all spells on, for group at least, so I can tell when it's safe to toss out slow without getting eaten. It gets annoying, but it's a sure fire way to tell if pets proc or not. If you miss that message then you can always just wait for simple message of (your name)'s pet begins to cast a spell... :)

it doesnt leave a message, but if you turn on spell effects (graphically) you can see the pets proccing stun shock on the mob
At first, when I saw this, I did believe they were proccing stun shock on the mob. Unfortunately, after seeing other class' swarm pet weapons go off, I realized that it also made the same spell effect. The spell effect you see is not the proc off the paladin epic, but rather a side effect of the swarm pets being summoned; it is the same for any other weapon of this type

Can someone explain what exactly the proc does?
It summons with every successful proc, a Shadowman style (ie invisible) mob wielding the Paladin Epic, after 10 seconds it dissipates.

Pretty sure they last longer than 10 seconds...thought it was more like 18 or so, but i could be wrong
On FV where this "could" be sold I have to admit I've never seen it. Granted most people with end game gear don't pass it on much. Still it would be a hell of a fun screenshot to put a full group of palys together dexup to max then proc proc proc a pile of these little pets. Anyone ever seen something like that?
