I'm a random player who decided to take my tradeskills from 0 to 220-250 (never bothered with the coldain prayer shawl), and I'll say I think it's definitely worth the end product. Sure, the farming has been endless and I think I have arthritis from clicking so much...but the Signet of the arcane https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=20379 sure beats the Earring of the Solstice I'm wearing now.

I play a chanter as my main and IMHO it isn't a waste of time. 1 or 2 HP could mean the difference between me lasting long enough to get a heal and dieing. Also it would be great for a shammy or necro whose HP = mana
This is for the ppl that wasted their time doing the Coldain prayer shawls, and the other tradeskill nuts. It isn't supposed to be worth the timesink for a random player to just up and do the quest.
Only the exceptions can be exceptional.
Who's to say this is a "waste of time" you? people are drawn to EQ for different reasons.. if htey get a kick out of donig tradeskills then so be it. just dont bash others cause you feel it is something you yourself wouldnt go and get.
