Legacy of Ykesha
I don't know that there is necessarily any use for this item, but it is worth mentioning that Zraxth is a major (albeit background) storyline character in the Legacy of Ykesha: Zraxth was the first Troll to worship Innoruuk instead of Cazic Thule when Innoruuk sought to break the unity of the Trolls. Long story short, Zraxth began a splinter faction of Innoruuk-worshipping Trolls who performed an 8-day-long ritual in which Zraxth neither ate nor slept. This culminated in his writing into a stone tablet using the blood and bones of high priests of Cazic a prophecy of the coming of The Grozmok. The Grozmok was to be the greatest of all Trolls, uniting them through both fear and hate and conquering all the empires of Tunaria (later known as Antonica).
Unsurprisingly, Zraxth died after this ordeal. That stone would come to be known as The Grozmok Stone, which according to in-game lore from 2003 resides "hidden and well protected deep within Grobb," despite there being a player-obtainable item by the same name. There are other lore entries which refer to a magical ore discovered on Broken Skull Rock which Nadox, Dulak and Jrank used to empower their followers, and it seems like a safe assumption that this ore was named after Zraxth; consider all the items from LoY named "Zraxthil Forged something-or-other".

This item also drops from "an exhausted miner" in Crypt of Nadox.
It'd be really nice to find a use for it. it seems like its relevant to something, being the prime ore of the expansion, but they need to really say
This ore is a quest item for one of the LoY enchanter spells: Scryer's Trespass. It's a sweet mana xfer spell that when cast on a caster mob, transfers mana back to the chanter at a rate of 50 mana per tick.
My chanter uses this spell all the time. Mezz, Theft of Thought (a lesser mana xfer spell), Scryers, Memblur. Stealing mana in this fashion seems to really **** off the mobs (hence the memblur cast), so if you use this spell, you want to be sure you beg your tanks and melees to get aggro when they break mezz. ;-)

No, Sylanwulf is wrong. Gleaming Zraxthril Ore is used for the Scryer's Tresspass spell.

No, he said that this item, which is simply "Zraxthril" is used for the quest. The item used for the enchanter quest is "Gleaming Zraxthril Ore": https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=20168

This is interesting when you think about the fact that Innoruuk now spawns in Nadox. Not saying there's a connection, but if not its definately a strange coincidence.

My initial guess would be since alot of the weapons you see in nadox are zraxthril forged something or others, I'd think that this is somehow used in a smithing combine or in a quest involving an NPC smith needing some samples.
Has anybody tried some test combines to find out?

I've found this and pristine ore samples. Anyone know what they are used for?
Since the Pristine Ore is needed for the quest in Steamfont has anyone tried giving this to the same gnome?

pristine ore samples are for encased mnemonic vapor (5 dose potion, 150point magic absorb) as for zraxthrill, well, id like ot know myself =P
