Pulling the Toubadour was not too hard. I set up my party at the end of the road. Then put flute to lips and walked up the street using Kelin's Lugubrious Lament (KLL) on each mob as it came into range. When I got to the door, the serving wrench aggroed... (maybe 10 pct is not a good tip)... ran her back to the party and repeated. This time got in the bar and KLL everyone in the place. Tryed to charm the bard. he resisted. but continued trying as I ran to my party.. nothing aggroed got the charm and then the party beat it down. we had a 46 warrior, 45 bard, 51 mage and 44 shammy. Not too hard.

After reading the other posts i thought i was gonna have a train on my hands trying to get the troubador out of the tavern. I had him targeted pulled with chant of flame and then put invis on and ran through at least 20 mobs on my way to the kite spot, didn't agro anything else. once there i chant kited this guy.

Effect is nice, and well worth it. For me at 65, with VotS and epic, it was stripping high end shammy DoT's in one pulse. It's a targettable song, meaning you need to target yourself to remove the DoT, but hopefully that means you wont need to be in group to hit others.
Seemed powerful to me, as I said. From memory, it removes about 9 or 10 disease counters at a time, which is a pretty decent amount. The curse one should be similar as well.
BTW, jus to finish off my post that Calli put in, Jusean Evanesque is outside the bard guild in south qeynos - once you give the book to Kardin, you run to Qeynos, give the book to Jusean and run back to Kardin. That final hand in to Kardin gets you the song.

VotS won't affect it btw, it's a wind song :) Removes 16 counters at level 56 with a Flute of Eternal Night.

Anyone have general or estimated info on what this song does?

OK, fast heads up on what I've found so far. First, it seems the songs are quested. So, zone into the first zone and somewhere near the lighthouse in a hut is a NPC called Kardin Nillic (loc 1657, 48 ) . Follow his prompts (what plague, how are they immune, what singing or something like that) and he sends you off on a little quest.
Head south (I think its south) and you'll come across a beach, with a cave in it. Stick right and you'll come to a small troll town, and on the other side is a zone line to the next zone (yay!! educated guess to find it worked!!)
In this zone you'll need to head down to the docks where there is a tavern with a troubadour playing. I invised in, targetted him, stood outside and bellowed him. At 65 nothing else came. Straight toe to toe fight, he took about a bub off and I was too lazy to heal. Hit once for 94, and a couple of 55-60's but most were around 20. He dropped a coin and a book.
I gave book to Kardin who told me to toddle off and see Evanesque about it. Now I gotta find Evanesque. Coin did nothing, so I can only assume its for something else. Both coin and book were no drop btw.

the 'a Broken Skull troubadour' was light blue at 56.
Dropped 'a faded, watermarked book'.
When given to Kardin, he gives you 'a faded songbook'.
When given to Jusean, he gives you 'a transcribed songbook'.
Both items are magic/no drop, bard/all.
The song is itemized as 'Spell: Aria of Ascetism' and is no drop
