Actually, quite a nice item to have on a pvp server. Ever fight an SK with a pre-nerf CoS and have your DMF dispelled? Not fun.
Not too many other items you can buy for the price these come at in bazaar for the stats either. I give it at least 1 thumb up.
PS. had to use the other thumb for a bone chip

well,to each his own,yes the effect is worthless,but the idea of knowing that you got it,brings alittle pride to yourself.Im a 65 necro on karana,and i wear it ALL the time.
Definitely not worthless, especially to Erudites and Humans. Not having to cast vision buffs is a good thing.

This effect really is race specific. This was made for human necros whose eyesight sux. For us DE necros it is just plain useless.
what do you guys want out of an ornate item? jesus christ you people complain about everything all the time. WAH WAH WAH awww poor babies we're so sorry that sony didnt give you uber item number 1 off a gimp *** mob. stop complaining if you look around you'll see every head peice has this effect, which isnt a terrible effect at all, you'd ***** 300x's more if there wasnt an effect right? so stfu take the item and live with it. jesus christ i hate reading posts because you people want everything handed to you on a silver plater, im sure the more you ***** the closer the developers will get to making a head slot item with an insta click pyres just for you. Dood, for all that ******** you just did, the item STILl sucks, so you pretty much wasted your time. For necros, who are nine times out of ten going to be a DE or Gnome (i suppose) anyway, this is a crap item and most guilds will hand you down something a lot better. For humans or erudites, well, it's still crap, because it only takes a second to cast deadeye or whatever *see in the dark* spell they get at that level. It's really, really useless and not worthy of being an *ornate* item. Come on, do you see this ability being on par with FTII?

Not just 'see in the dark' spell, also is see invisible, which is quite handy if you don't have it. Only other way you'd have see invis is if you're A. DMFed, B. Lich form, C. Deadeye (who the hell wastes a buff slot for that) or D. Someone else has given you see invis. When traveling (usually when invised) you're probably not in lich form. There goes that one. DMF wears off in enough zones that it'd be a pita. Deadeye.. right. It's deadeye again. And I'd rarely find myself having someone magically casting see invis on me. So this item is okay.. obviously it's not uber, but cmon, this stuff is ornate. The pattern cost me 2k a few minutes ago - for the stats and see invis, I'd say that's more than worth it if you don't have better. Oh, and considering you can wear it at 55, I'd say it's not too shabby in that area either.
Last note - if you're in a guild that's handing out stuff that's "a lot better" than this to every fool that doesn't feel like earning their gear, shoot me a tell on saryrn, I'd like to twink me some alts.

My guild does 'hand out better', but only to those of us that show initiative and get out there and earn our keep. I've showen my face at a lot of guild raids and given help to people when they needed it at the expense of my own time, so my guild rewards me with items I would normally never be able to get.
And even with see invis, this item still sucks. =p

How does one get a necromancer emblem?
To get an emblem, go to Bor Warhammer in PoT (in building next to bank) and give him 500pp. He will instantly recognize what class you are and if you meet the requirements (which I apologize for not knowing after the latest patch) give you a no-fail combinable sewing kit that will poof after you use it.

Well I'm a 61st Necro and im always in Arch Lich which is also see invis and ultra light. so ill stick to my Ice silk cap for the meantime much cheaper in Bazaar. Only 3k in Quel server
Hmm,can't say as I find the effect all that useful, I'm using SoS almost all the time, and it comes with the same benefit as I recall. Oh well, guess its better than nothing.
This item has the effect "planesight" as per the level 55 wiz spell ............or whatever. A nice surprise when i made it to find this :)
