Did a video recently showing the camp & getting the voice of the serpent. 16:45 min respawn but a rare drop. Took most of a day to get this item. Disciple was easier to kill than the PHs. I definitely recommend to grind this out in Luclin era when the most picks of SSRA are available. https://youtu.be/-ZPV6pYa_fs

Still no luck...

I was starting to wonder myself if it still drops or not, but I got mine today. So yes it still drops but it seems quite rare.
annoying!

I was camping this for 4 hours before realizing i was pulling from the wrong room.

there are 2 rooms off of a hallway, one north and one south. each of them has a raid mob with almost exactly the same name.

Rhozth Ssrakizh is in the south room, that's the WRONG room (as i finally realized when i checked the location). pull from the room north of the hallway.

Rhozth Ssrakezh is in the north room. the PH is the mob to the right of him when facing him (his left side). the raid mob will agro, but if you can manage to pull him into the hallway and fade he doesn't reset, so you can have at the room (both spawns if you want) without any interference. the only hard part is sneaking past him back into the room, but just be quick about it and fade when you get back in and you're home free. 70 bard, 6.6k hp 1.7k ac unbuffed soloed no problem. true the healing mobs on other floors are a pain but they only heal for about 5-10% of the mob's hp, so just whack away and they should die no problem.

thanks SOE for that one... ... ...

well i wasted a good chunk of my day pulling from the wrong room, lets see if i can get the right one to spawn this time

Zoned into Ssra, Disciple up on track. Quick journey into basement, levi up one of the sloped walls in basement, shimmied through the locked door. Cleared the three snakes in the center room then dropped the disciple, who gladly gave up his prize! But that's not the lucky part... Had just left Chardok with my halfling mask after 1 ph and 1 named. Off to Vegas for me!!!
1st kill dropped.

Got mine on lucky 1st kil for bard last month. As for locked door, Even after the door summoning trick was fixed, its still fairly easy to get thru door locks. DS + Eye of Zomm ftw.

I can verify that this item still drops. Got one today off the second named that spawned. Not sure if I got exceptionally lucky or what, but it sounds like that's unusual. Regarding the post of 12/10/04 I had the named pop in the room across from Rhozth Ssrakezh, not in the same room as that post states. Both times he spawned across the way. A mate of mine suggested that possibly any of those snakes on the second floor might be the ph so the more you kill the more chance of having the Diciple spawn. Regardless I had been bored and ended up killing every snake I could find besides the event mob and got the VotS in about an hour. Good luck...
Does this still drop

After 108 Disciples, yup thats right 108 still not VoTS, dos it still drop or is this just so exceedingly rare as not to be worth it?
augment?
# Dec 02 2005 at 8:39 PM Rating: Default
anyone know of an augment that fits in this, that has an ammo slot option so it can still be worn there? how nice is it to add another augment slot to your armor..... even though this can be clicked from inventory, i still wear it in ammo jus to have 1 more open inventory slot, and who wouldnt want to if you can put a nice augment in there too =))

I agonized over getting this item for a very long time. Don't kid yourself though this camp is not for the newbie bard.

>>>First of all; Let's assume you know your way to the basement of Ssraezcha Temple, if not then download a map. As long as you go the correct way there are no see invis mobs between you and the door that blocks you from your target.
After you leave the tube that gives access to the basement, you will want to head towards the building straight ahead. On the left side of this building is a ramp that leads to a locked door that looks like a sarcophagus. As any good bard will know getting past a locked door is fairly easy assuming you can charm a mob then have him attack a summoning mob.

>>>To cheat the door lock; Summon an Eye of Xomm by using a Singing Steel Helm, Holgresh Elder Beads, or a Stalking Probe. Summon it facing the door so it pops on the other side. Go up the ramp to the second story of the building and target ANY mob. Now here's the key, make sure you have a KEY BOUND to CYCLE BETWEEN TARGETS. Look this up in options. Keep your 2nd floor mob targeted, find a NON-Named/NON-Taskmaster mob on the first floor, like a Shissar Defiler or an Acolyte. Single them and bring them to the door. Now cycle your target to the second floor one and have your charmed snake attack him. Once he's done a bit of damage to the other mob break charm, then be ready to run outtside the door and use Fading Memories.

>>>Now that you are on the Second Floor; You will see on the outside to the right is an area free of mobs that you can pull to/go afk while waiting for spawns.

>>>Inside the second floor is three rooms; The first one has three static mobs that spawn about 20 min. The Right room has 2 trash mobs and a Named for the Cursed Cycle. The Left room has 1 trash mob, the other named for the Cursed Cycle, and your target mob. It looks like this:

................Rhozth Ssrakezh...........
Trash_____---------------_____Ph/Disciple Yelwinz

>>>How to pull; If you are reading this guide then you probably don't have the greatest dps yet so I'll assume you don't want to spend 20 min killing the first room. The mobs in the first room have a small proximity agro so if you are careful you can pull ph/Yelwinz single easy. If this proves hard use the Silent Song of Quellious. DO NOT enter Rhozth's room, instead pull Yelwinz/PH using the Bellow aa/Harmony of Sound/Occlusion of Sound/Bracer of Fenin Ro/misc ranged attack. Don't worry if he stops to cast, just exit the building and pull him out and nothing should agro. If you'd like some extra DPS, the mobs that ARE NOT Taskmasters can all be charmed with Song: Call of the Banshee.

>>>The Easy part; Once singled Disciple Yelwinz is cake. Even with poor dps he's a snap. Mez him, debuff his resists and slow. HE WILL GATE, HE WILL COMPLETE HEAL. If you have a high enough charisma use mesmerize to break his casting. If this is unreliable use your Lost Composition of Ervaj with a horn and burn away his mana pool. Obviously if you hp start to drop, mez him and twist Niv's Melody of Perservation with your highest HP/Mana song (ie Chorus of Marr).

>>>If you agro Rhozth Ssrakezh; This guy is agro'd by proximity (and direct agro obviously). As long as you don't enter his room you are good. We all make mistakes however (LAG) or perhaps you let a mob gate. If this happens run out of the building and chain Fading Memories til out of range since he sees invis. If agro'd he will camp the spot he lost agro at for quite a long time. If this happens memorize Song of Highsun, equip a flute and just gate him back and immediately Fading Memories, this should fix the problem just remember to open the door at MAX range and maybe use Song: Lyssa's Solidarity of Vision to target Yelwinz.

With resists all over 120, unbuffed HP of over 5k, 1400+ AC and 1300+ Attack all mobs were only moderately challenging once slowed with Requiem of Time. Goodluck =D

Rhoz will proc a curse called "Balance of Xebuxxoruk". This curse effectively reduces your healing factor by 75%. To remove this curse just sing Song: Aria of Innocence with a flute and should fade in a casting or two.

Some dangers in this camp

Just wanted to add a couple things. If Rhozth Ssrakezh is up you better be VERY careful unless you have fade. He is now NOT on a 7 day timer. I'd say its closer to 4-8 hours now. Do not set up camp in Yelwinz's room unless you can FM or a group that can take Rhozth down (and any bard that needs VoTS probably would die very quickly to him - He's a level 60 SK that hits in the 400's, has at least 50k hps, LARGE melee range, and has a nasty curse). He does NOT assist Yelwinz or his PH, so you can pull them when he is up, but make sure you have a mez or stun up when fighting because if they gate and summon you, you will be in trouble as he WILL aggro. He has the XTC healing curse which makes all heals on you 75% less effective, so make sure if you get hit by it you get an RGC or RC (3 shots) right away.

Note: I got my VoTS after 8 Yelwinz kills and probably 24 PH. Expect a 8-10 hour camp. Any less and you are very lucky.

Does anyone know the respawn on this guy? also, in the room does he spawn on right or left of room, or is there a middle ph. I know he is in the left room, i want to know what section of it he is in
RE: Timer
# Nov 08 2004 at 12:39 AM Rating: Decent
I found him on the right side of the left room. Was lucky and got VoTS first time he popped. Had cleared the two mobs in the room twice, finishing the fourth one and heard him casting. He was 5th mob. Had no trouble pulling him or the others through the doors and then back to the left side terrace for the long beat down.

Ok any other ways other than a rogue to get there? I hear that Levitate no longer works to climb up the tube.

Another way to get through the door, a much safer way, is to use lev to get on top of the door. When on top of the door keep lev on and duck. You will be sucked into the door and can now just walk on through. Presto, a much easier and safer way that you can get through the door.

Push a mob through the locked door. Back up. Get summoned through door. Fade. You're there!
Pulling vs Kill Where Stands
# Mar 08 2004 at 10:42 PM Rating: Decent
Some people suggest pulling him out of his room. Don't bother. Just lull and kill him where he stands. The other mob in the room does not aggro even if you accidentally let yelwinz/ph get halfway up the throne platform.

Does this still actually drop? I musta killed this guy about a dozen times now and each and every time he's dropped the belt.

*Edit* Yup, it does, had to kill the sucker 15 or so times before he did tho, so be prepared for a long, long wait.

As Master omnistriker said, the VoTS doesn't increase your singing skill by adding 6 points to 235, rather, it adds 0.6 to your overall singing modifier.

The drop rate of the VoTS is somewhat random, it can vary from 2 drops out of 3 disciples, to hell camps of 20 disciples. From what I've read, the average amount of time it takes to camp the VoTS is around several hours, roughly 9, and drops once out of roughly 9 to 10 disciples.

Disciple Yelwinz himself is not that difficult, I have read of bards that were able to solo him, but however, I did my usual tactic of SoS / Mez.

The tricky part to Disciple Yelwinz is the actual pulling of him. As like most snakes in the temple, if you don't properly guide him through, he will get stuck on the ledge above the sliding doors. Which gets tiresome when pulling his caster PHs.

What I did was lull the other snakes (Gets tougher with the 2nd Rzoth), play HoS, then snare. And once the snake / Disciple Yelwinz was out of the first door, I would mez drag them through the second door, and from that area there, continue with SoS / Mez.

There are 2 options in which to reach Disciple Yelwinz and his PHs:

1) Have a rogue friend / bot with maximum picklock skill pick through the door to reach the camp. This may become a bit tiresome with your friend, but if you have a bot, this is the easier way.

2) Got this information from my fellow bards at the Concert Hall boards, and decided to share it here:

(You will NEED invisibility and some form of levitation, if you don't have some form of clicky levitation like singing steel boots, you could try to lull the snakes and play Aria, and follow the steps below)

Once comming into the basement via the water tube, turn left or right, onto the thin blue, slanted ledge surrounding the tube and the snakes. Travel to the back of the ledge, and run into the tube, and look up at 45 degrees with varying deviations to see which angle is the best to make you walk up. Some models / races work better than the others at travelling up the tube, but from experience and information at the Concert Hall, Halfling form is the best.

After you've walked high enough, simply fly over to the back wall, and follow the wall over to the campsite area.

This doesn't increase your singing skill by 6. Even better, it adds a 0.6 mod to your singing skill which stacks with just about everything except the Shadowsong Cloak which drops in Akheva Ruins.

If you are good and do your homework, this can be done with 2-3 people and without a key to the basement. Also, don't plan on getting VoTS on the first drop if that is what you are after. Plan on spending some time camping PH's.

There's a difficult trick to getting up on the wall in the basement. you levitate and climb up the outside of the tube that goes up to the main floor. you have to kinda move sideways forward and look straight up. took me about an hour to figure out how to do it.

edit: once you are up on the wall you run around to the side of that building where the locked door is and just drop down in there at the top of that little ramp

I've been told that Shadowsong, Epic, and VoTS mods all stack and that if you get the AA Ayonae's Tutelage, it will raise the cap on singing so you can take advantage of all three.

Drops from...
# Jan 31 2003 at 10:23 AM Rating: Good
This drops from Disciple Yelwinz in the basement of Ssra. He spawns in the left Rhozth room (the one without Rhozth up usually). Bards can solo for this. I personally duoed it with my 65 rogue friend. I got lucky and he dropped it the first time. Yelwinz is a semi-rare spawn, I just found him up after the patch. He can also drops Shissar Guard Belt, and he seems to drop them with about the same frequency from what I have heard.
Nice, but there is better
# Jan 31 2003 at 2:49 AM Rating: Decent
Theres a better modifier out there in the form of the Shadowsong Cloak with right click Harmonize, wich adds 9% to singing. Very nice stats on the cloak too, one of the best cloaks for bards. If I could get my grubby little hands on a Shadowsong Cloak, I would go for a Tiny Cloak of the Darkest Night, with right click invis. Oh well, one can hope that one day we can be able to use the stats on stuff in ammo slot...

Best of regards

You are right...there are better. But as BardicPimp said, it is possible to solo for it. The cloak you are talking about is much better and drops from a level 66..not at all soloable
