My friend plays a Wizzy, and swears by them. Of course, it doesn't do anything til 65, but all the same, it is highly helpful, removing over 100 mana off the cost of the nuke. (Which is the most popular nuke anyways). Then, he uses the MP4 from the Sleeves on Nukes for when he faces fire based creatures, like in the West Wing of BoT. The stats are dece as well, and you can always augment them to make them even better...

My question is does the mana reduction on the gloves STACK with the MP4 on the sleeves.. with them both of the same line I cant see why they wouldnt.. Anyone?
Far as I know, all the planar "crafted" gear has an effect. Look at the chanter gloves, they have an effect.
When these items were first introduced, they had no effects. A while after, Sony decided to give the items more appeal by putting clickies, focii and FT on the various pieces, so some of the screenshots are out of date.
Would be nice to know what these gloves have on them, if anyone out there has a pair.
I just checked the magelo listing for this item and it has the focus effect Fires of Sol. The elemental gloves have a focus effect that decrese mana cost for one spell, Strike of Solusek. Could this be a similar thing? For which spell do you suppose?
while most of the new stuff in antirs line is good or even great ( legs and arms have awesome mana and are a hard to upgrade slot for casters)these are one of the few items that i as many would choose velious quest gloves over. velious quest gloves are one of the best peices of the velious series of equipment and very easy to get while these are a bit harder and not an upgrade really.
the other stuff looks great but in some slots older is better
I would disagree, purely on two things. 1, they have higher resists, and the more I get in the way of resists in normal wearing gear, the better off I am. So having 5 FR/DR/MR is a bonus. The second piece is the mana. +50 Mana is much better than the Sage or Icicle gloves, and with having int bases still only maxing to 305 at 65, I wouldn't worry half as much about the 10 int on Icicle vs 5 here as I would about the mana.
I agree completely. The moment I finished combining the ornate gloves, I banked my Sage's gloves. Effect was the selling point. 20% MP on SoS just rules.
