Thanks Gidono! I finally subscribed to Alla because I love the changes, additions and responsiveness in the Everquest section.
As for the ring, you only get one ring from Marcia per restock. So on average you could wait a month or two before next one appears.

Hopefully this will help answer some questions.
Is it clickable from inventory? Yes, I am able to click this from inventory even as a bard.
Is the item rechargeable? Yes, you can recharge the item from Xantis Ixtax. She is a necromancer spell merchant in the necromancer guild in Neriak 3rd Gate. First floor.
How to recharge? You hand Xantis Ixtax the ring plus 10 gold (she will also accept 1 plat). To do this you will also need decent faction with "The Dead". The way I did it was by killing the "an arcance ____" in nektolus forest. They give a 5 point faction increase each kill and 2-3 min respawn time. I just afk'd with an ae dmg song and came back 3-5 hrs later and checked faction with Xantis Ixtax. Was enough for her to take my ring and recharge it. My faction with a dark elf illusion on was warmly, and without (I am a woodelf) it was amiably. Probably anything above indifferent will work.
Will it allow me to bind in spots other than cities like a pure caster? Yes, I used my wizard to take me to Windsong. Once there with the bard and wizard (both in same group) I made sure I could bind the wizard in the zone (was already bound but for testing I made sure). Wizard bound itself in the zone. Then I tried to bind the bard with the wizard and got the "find a city" message. Then finally on the bard I targeted myself and clicked the ring and bound the bard in Windsong. Casted a few gate potions to confirm I wasen't dreaming.
Should be everything someone will want to know about the ring. I haven't seen this ring in a long time and just happened to catch it on the rare item vendor yesterday. Pretty surprised they actually put this one on the list of rares. If you have the plat to throw around this is a deffinite must for any non-pure caster toon. Good luck and safe travels.

this ring can only be used by a Darkelf Necromancer or shadowknight.. not just any Melee class.

noo....If it's usable through the invitory, then ANYONE can use it...the race/class requirements are only ment for equiping it.
Actually that's not true. Items that are clickable from inventory may or may not be clickable by any class/race/deity. For example Holgresh Grand Vizier Beads are clickable by anyone, but Initiate Symbol of Bertoxxulous is not. Both are clickable from inventory however.

I haven't done it in months, but as of Velious the ring was still recharble for 10 gp from one of the spell/equip vendors in the Lodge of the Dead. The new reward for the quest is a scythe with a very long casting charge of complete healing, non rechargeable.
This "used" to be the reward for the Thex hammer quest but was removed from the game. Or at least all new quests don't result in this at all.

it used to be a ring that cast bind affinity. the thing was it could be recharged (still can if i remember correctly), but the quest is broken so you cant get it anymore. however, people that got the ring before they broke the quest can still recharge their ring (if i understand correctly). there was also a ring that cast gate that could be recharged also (quest also broken).
