How on Norrath did this Agi=Speed myth get started? It is simply not true! I have a 154 agi and a 158 dex. I run no faster than the rest of you when unbuffed and without various speed devices... Somewhere on this site is that whole Myth vs. Truth segment, go look at it, it states in no uncertain terms that AGI does not benefit Running Speed.
Oh, sorry, more to the point; I had two of these rings, I paid 20pp each from a jeweler that was just going to sell them to a vendor. When I asked, he said these were a 'cheaper' way to raise skill and that he had a hoard of them. I gave them to some EQ Newlyweds that didn't have a matching set...
If you run from most enemies or if the guards are kos to you, slap on two of these and you can out run most things. Of course SOW is just as effective but it is aggravating asking people to give you one.
Agility does not make you run faster. None of the base stats (e.g. Strength, Stamina, Agility, Dexterity, etc) make you run faster.
Additional Strength will make you run faster if that added Strength unencumbers you, but you won't run any faster than you would if you weren't carrying anything.
Additional Stamina will allow you to run for longer distances before becoming fatigued.
Agility has no effect on running speed.
The effect that increased Agility has on you is that you take less damage when you are hit in melee combat. Nothing more and nothing less.
Then why do I outrun folks that auto-follow me? We both buffed with the same run spell, but I ALWAYS outrun them.. When I autofollow..not an issue. Almost never fall behind.
