I am well over 300 in JC. I remember making these as a smaller toon years ago. What am I missing? I play on FV so no weird restrictions that I can recall.

I am a lvl 20 Ranger and i bought one of these in EC for 40pp. I thought it was a steal and jumped on the deal when he told me the price. Im wondering why when i shout PC on this people say around 40-60pp and in costs about 65pp to make it. I also have an Enchanter who is rising in jewel craft skill and soon will make these. How much should i sell these for?
Sells back to merchants for about 65pp also, so anyone who sells for 40pp is either doing you a favor, or was dumb enough to sell without checking merchant price first.
Honestly? They go at bazaar mostly for 40-50pp really. I just got one for my Rogue 11. Should just check merchant price for fun (although I only have CHA 75). Perhaps this is a nice trick to get sleeping rich. Buy at bazaar for 40 and sell to merchant for 65 to buy a new one at bazaar for 40 - easy richdom - isn't that what a rogue is all about?
40-60 is way too low for this. The general rule I'm told when it comes to trade skilled items is that you sell them for twice what they cost you to make. That way even your failures will eventually be covered over time. With bazaar, though, people sell stuff at cut rate prices to stay competitive with everyone else selling similar items. EQ economies are shifting more and more towards a buyers market, making it tough on tradeskillers or adventurers who accumulate a lot of extra gear in the course of their careers.
