I have been playing Barbarians in EFP for almost two years real time as of this post . this Karg NPC is involved in the werewolf pelt turn in as well..Trouble is neither I nor anyone i have talked to on Ayonae Ro has seen him in literally years....if you don't believe me notice that the last post on this thread was Oct 2002..wonder why..it is another bugged or broken quest...don't fret it though...run out and buy EQ2 and continue to support SOE's policy of indifference to paying customers /rant off :)

Karg Icebear is Martar Icebear's brother. Karg still lives and roams Everfrost Peaks. Karg is good. Martar is evil. Today I saw Karg and asked him a few questions.
Give him:
5 Plat. and a Polar Bear Skin.= Polar Bear Cloak.
75 Plat. and a Werewolf claw = Lup Gaunt.
100 Plat. and a Werewof skin = A cloak.
He is a very very rare spawn.
I was killing everything near/just south of the north LDoN entrance. Karg and Martar have spawned just south of the north LDoN entrance. I followed Karg today all the way around Everfrost. Heh, he actually walks past the Permafrost entry down in the little gully. He only stops 4 times.
I'm going to work the area I was in and try and confirm what might make him or Martar spawn.

Karg is still roaming EF. I was leveling my 20 warrior last week on Rallos Zek and almost ran overtop of him. Having been murdered by him in the past I didnt ask questions. I made tracks for the POK book as fast as I could get there and never looked back. He didnt hit me, but i know from experiance that when he does, it isnt pretty. He does still spawn (although rare) in EF still

The are 2 NPC's with the last name of Icebear. There is the nasty attitude one called Marter. He attaacks just about anyone on sight. Then there is his much nicer brother Karg. Karg will not attack unless you attack him or are of the wrong faction. Karg was up on E Marr last night and I got the werewolf gauntlets from him.

I finally got my set today. Had been camping in everfrost peaks for a week and no sign of Karg Icebear until I logged on this morning and he was on track. Unfortunately, I had spent my 75pp on a couple pieces of armor for my bard, thinking that he wasn't gonna show up before I had a chance to regain it. Doh! wrong. Fortunately a guildmate was on in the bazaar and gave me 75pp to get them. Nice item. My Careless Lightning damage on the first try went from 99 to 116. Worth my time waiting, too, since I levelled from 26 to 28 on mammoths.

GL trying to find this bad boy. Spent many a lvl in EF hunting and to this day still have only seen him once (1) time! Took a screen shot too =P

Not as easy as it sounds, as soon as Karg spawns you usually have at least 2 or 3 guys who are all working on killing him. They will let lower levels turn in polar bear skins to get the cloak, but the LCG's cause him to de-spawns, so people are usually not to open to the idea of letting you near him with it.

I like your post, Krystallia. This is the kind of information I crave. Although some may argue that what you said is obvious, I really like knowing what kind of competition I may face for completing a quest, as well as what effect my attempting to complete the quest may have on other players' immediate goals. Now, I know that it would behoove me to give a /shout to anyone nearby who needs to see this dude before I proceed with actions that will despawn him.
The 2hs he might drop is part of a side quest for the rogue epic so if he's up and available when I'm looking for him I'm not going to wait around for a few more days for him to spawn again. He'll be dead as soon as possible. It's just too bad Verant design spawns like this where both people want to hand in items along with killing him.

These have no graphic. Also a friend of mine who sold to me saw a pair go for 2kpp!!!! There one of the rarer item in game.. Got lucky and he sold to me for 500plat. They beat my em eniaid imo even with lower ac, I get 1 mor agility and less weight.

Is this item best for monks?

It's good for many classes but if you're a Rogue or a Bard get Elf-Hide Gloves(4ac 5Dex 5Agi)

It's pretty dammed nice for monks, but it's good for any class. I'm currently camping Karg to do this quest as a good friend gave me enough WW claws and plat to get 4 LCG's, which is pretty cool, hehe. I wonder what they sell for.. Though I'm keeping atleast one pair.

Just so you know, as soon as Karg gives you the first set of LCG's, he will dissapear.
