Siryn Hair Hood  

 

This item looks like leather when worn. Just bought it for 75pp on Firiona Vie. I'm looking for good bard hat with no graphic! Any suggestions?

Took me 15 hours to get him to spawn, but here's a bit more info if you need it.

To get to where Quid spawns, I'll assume you're coming out of the Feerrott zone. At the first junction, go right. Run into the open area to the left. You'll see a hill straight ahead or slightly to your right along with some ruins. Glaron the Wicked spawns in those ruins. If you turn left more and run back through the little hills and valleys, you'll come across a gypsy camp.

Kill all roaming bugs and critters from the gypsy camp to where Glaron the Wicked stands. This may be overkill, but it's not like you're going to be doing anything anyways.

You can kill Glaron the Wicked (no negative faction hit), but he's for the shaman epic and has a spawn time of 3 hours, so ask around before you and kill him; someone may need him. See note at the end about Glaron.

If you're heading from Glaron to the Gypsy camp, Quid will spawn to the left of the camp near the back wall. He'll begin to walk in an almost direct line towards Glaron the Wicked, so just travel this area often while you're on you killing spree.

You'll know Quid when you see him. He's an erudite pally and he's the only human type npc that roams this side of the hill. If you're an evil class/race, he'll be KOS to you.

If you're a fear kiting class, he'll lay hands when the first fear breaks, so be prepared for his hp to jump all the way back up.

I killed him as a 38 necro with little trouble. He may be 35th level, but he fights like he's about 30th. In my case, I did this to kill him: Darkness, send pet, fear, Venom of the Snake, Boiling Blood, lifetap dot. When fear broke, VOS finished, so I cast fear again, then VOS one more time. I used about 40% of my mana in all and spent much of the fight on my butt.

He's not overly difficult but the LOH does surprise you if you're not expecting it.

About Glaron, he's a little more difficult than Quid, but only because he opens with a Harm Touch. I've actually seen him HT twice in one fight, which, needless to say, caught me off guard. Same tactic that worked on Quid will work on Glaron, but don't send the pet until after he's feared. Otherwise, your pet will eat the HT.

I've been hunting HG's in Rathe Mountains for about 3 weeks, and I check my tracking every time I zone in and out through Feerrott. I've seen him on track 2 times, killed him both times, and he dropped the Hood both times. One time at night, one time during day.

I just transfered to the tunare server from karana about 3 weeks ago. Since I had to give up all my stuff on the old server to move to the new one , i had to go in search of items to replace my naked self =)
I my search for things i came across this nice little item , so i decided when i got transfered i would go give it a look and see if i could get lucky. Well a mid lvl monk friend went with me to keep me from being bored by myself haha. Well i thought of the gypsies on the Lake Rathe Zone side of the mountain zone. so we began killing all the bears in the area cause that is all that is there cept for an orc camp. I had a funny feelin i was in the wrong place haha. Which turns out i was. I started asking for the /loc of the paly camp ...quiet returns at first, but then a nice lil dark elf lady said she would take me there =) so i buffed her up real nice and thanked her for her kindness.
For a easy way i can think to tell you to get to this camp is , after you zone in from Ferrott and you get to the very first split in the valley that goes left and right. Just follow to the right side. It will come out into a big opening with some ruins and some wooden spike sticking outward from the ground. To the left of those spikes you will see the ruins of a building , if you head straight into that direction that should put you pretty close to the hill that the paly camp is on(if i remember correctly) on the top of that hill you will find at one end a orc camp with 3 orcs in it and a totem pole kinda deal in there with it. At the other end of the hill is the paly/gypsie camp. to the right of the camp down at the bottom of the hill is another inn.

Now what i did, pretty simple was made a pet. everything is super green... fire beetles, skelys , once in a while a grizzly bear. i got my first tash spell and began casting it on everything , since it used like 10 mana i didnt use anything hardly haha, i would have 5-10 monsters on me haha , would just let my pet with haste on go wild on him. I even kept the orcs at the other end of the hill cleared out , i never left the top of the hill , stuff just keeps comin across there, just keep killing it all.
I am guessing that i got lucky on it , since it took about 15-20 minutes tops of me doing this to get Quid to pop. then i put haste on my pet, beserker str, and let him go to town. now i was lvl 51 when i did this , so this was not a hard fight at all haha, but even in the 40s this should not be hard at all either, just haste your pet, use beserker series on your pet and you will solo this guy like cake. nothin to it, i could have prolly killed him in a couple nukes, but was no matter.
low and behold he dropped the hood!! Woot!
very nice chanter item indeed. I had runed cowl on other server with the INT on it , but the CHA ratio compared to the INT leaves this item to be better, and you can substitute other items for more int in other areas to balance it out, plus it has a lil resist to it , and who doesnt need a lil extra resist? =)

i almost forgot, is the 'paladin camp' the place w/ all the bandits? just wondering cause he suposedly spawns between here and the gypsis. hope i havent been hunting in the wrong place

does this guy have a faction hit?? and if so what is it??

This hood rcks i went there ad it spawnedin a hour or so after I killed everything between the Gypsies and the paladin camp. This also makes the elemental illusions tail get longer. Its a awsome hat
