I would venture to say that Gliblixl Rocktok (in the Bazaar trade skills chamber) is probably the most common vendor to purchase FPG from...they are not constant in his inventory, but are probably more common than elsewhere. He sells the Block of Medium Quality Ore required for the metal sheets - and when you add the weightlessness of the Bazaar (for us DE's, that's paramount) ...he's ideal for both skilling and selling the product back. He'll purchase your FPG creation for around 77p and sells them for 127p (on Druzzil Ro, at least).
There are also three merchants somewhere in the Bazaar that might occasionally sell them...I don't want to sell the farm, so I'll leave it up to you to figure out which ones. :) Too much info spoils the fun...

I am a smith, and have a skill over 200. I sell FP for 10pp per AC. This is a common price guide on Terris-Thule. If you have a hard time getting the items you like at a fair price just contact Shanter for Medium sized FP. I'll make Large or Small, but you have to bring your own Plate Molds, and take the risk of a failure on the mold.
I remind you, that I would still be taking the risk of loosing up to 60pp worth of folded MQ sheets of metal.

bought these for 26pp yesterday. they were dyed pale yellow .... and im a dark elf .... eh beggars cant be choosers =>
All fine plate is 75pp per sheet. anyone who sells for lower price is either unloading some they had been using and upgraded, or is going out of business quickly. I have decent charisma (85) and ally faction with merchants I use, and these still cost me about 90-100pp per attempt. If I am successful on one try, I get a good profit. If not, well....

Fighting in Highhold Keep last night, these dropped of a goblin warrior. Never seen this drop before nor had anyone on my team.
The only way these could drop off of a mob would be if a player gave them to the mob. These are not dropped anywhere in the game. They are created using the Blacksmithing Trade Skill. Likely someone high level enough to approach the goblin without being attacked wanted to pass them along to some anonymous person as a nice surprise.

I just want to know why any one would pay over 50 plat for this when for a few plat more than 100 u can get magic stuff? Ac isnt as good but I always thought 1plat per ac was ok maybe 2 per if dyed? Am I just that cheap or what?

Very simple: because it costs that much to make. The Greaves require 3 folded medium quality sheets, plus a mold, plus leather padding, plus water. Total cost for me (a dwarf with only 45 charisma) is 115 platinum. That's for one attempt - if I fail I get to spend that all over again.
Nobody claims this armor is *worth* this price, but that is what it costs to make, therefore no smith is going to sell it for much less.
