black pearls do sell i bought a stack. geez wish i could remeber where though. dont quote me but think it was thurgadin. currently about 500k into jewelcraft or at least it seems like it.

How much are these theses days? Any Chanters/ Jewelcrafters have an idea?
Some jewelers are probably making them for skill and unloading them as they can. The Bazaar is driving down prices on LOTS of other items as well.

Prices on this one seem to still be dropping as more jewelcrafters show up and more upper-level black pearl drops continue. Black pearls are now getting relatively common and I've seen them sell in auctions for around 25pp. People have started selling them to vendors too, so keep an eye out for them. I've seen the rings selling for 50pp...

I got one for 70pp on the Rathe. It was more like 60pp and 100gp....was in OT and i was far from bank. Friend was very happy i bought him one too.

i have gotten 2 black pearls from the giants fort in FM zone hope it helps
I believe they're asking about the black pearl itself, not the whole piece. If that's the case, I got one black pearl at the Aviak Village in South Karana from an Aviak Avocet. But i think you can also get them from Spectres in Oasis of Marr and Minotaurs in LwrGuk but not sure on those.

This is almost too funny. Yes, you would have to enchant the gold bar. If you need the piece faster and for cheaper, I suggest you buy one. I'm not sure if I have spent a hundred or so plat into this skill but I am level 37. I doubt I have what it takes to make one. Besides, this is a skill I will get into when I am more capable to fund it. Unless you are part of a guild or group of friends who can help your habits, wait a bit for this and just buy one for no more than 150pp. They do sell on my server, btw which is BristleBane, for 200pp which I think is almost outrageous....apart from the 300pp and 500pp I've seen it being auctioned off for.

Actually the price listed here (currently 93pp as i type this) is about what it should cost. First the materials to make this cost a total of 30pp to make. second your average enchanter gets the enchant gold spell at 24 and opal is an important stepping stone in being able to make high end gold and low end plat pieces. And third most characters begin to outgrow their existing armor and weapons at 24 ish so chanters need a little more money and the faster they can sell stuff the better they get and more money they make. so selling cheaper is sometimes better. just my 2cp.
Just to point out, this is black pearl, not pearl, and pearl can be bought; black pearl is dropped

No you can buy these in certain places. I have seen them for sale but I have never attempted to buy one because they are way to expensive.
