I think he means it's the 2nd best total resists armor for the shoulder slot. The shawl of protection is the better one.

hunting in the hole with my main crew, just doing a little entrance clearing, on the 5th rotation the rock golem dropped these, they were defaulted to me cause the dorf warrior couldnt wear em. Sorry but they are not for sale, but if you think im lying come inspect me on Druzzil :)

Group of 6 of us doing Ratman Jail area and these dropped off a RATMAN. Yes its true. Two Orge tanks so NBG and high elf cleric got them =O.

You are right. They do drop off of Ratmen & they also drop off of Ghosts.

Came late..but was able to join up with my guild on Saturday the 4th. Had two sets of these drop for us. was not lucky enough to win..but plan on going some more.. If only I could figure out how to squeeze through that crack..heheh

These dropped off a rock golem last night for my guild as we were clearing down towards High Scale Kirn from that area with the sign that says "More Than Mushrooms." We killed tons of elementals and golems. This was the only pair that dropped all the way down, and I was the lucky winner out of 10-15 people rolling. I did see somebody auctioning to buy these for 50k and a CSS in gfay the other day. Probably because they were desperate, but I think they normally go for around 30k. They ARE rare. Out of 3-4 Hole trips (once even down to kill Master Yael), this was the first pair I'd seen.

well you got lucky then. or i'm really unlucky. been raiding the hole a lot lately hoping for these and no drops. 1 55+ group. about 14-16 days in here in the last month at 3-12 hours at a time. no shoulders (though i've got earthen blades and elemental binders out the wazoo) we did get an awesome bow off a golemn though.

I lost the roll on a set of these last night, dropped off a rat warrior. It's cool though because the group I had are all friends =~)
Funny thing is the monk won the roll on these... they weigh more than he does! haha
Personally I think these are somewhat limited due to the high weight (no way a monk would wear them) and the fact that no small races can wear them. IMHO, there are better shoulders out there if you consider who can wear them and how much lighter they are. That's not to say that if I were a Vah Shir or Barb, that I wouldn't give 'my left one' for these... =~P

The last two hole raids ive been on two of these have dropped. Great shoulders. Dont' care much about the weight at 210str and the resists are invaluable. Perhaps ive been lucky with the drops. Sell for 25k and from what i understand are easy to sell. Mine are not for sale so i dunno. /shrug

Was there last night 12 April 01. I had a blast and the exp was quite nice. This zone has a 25% bonus to exp due to peeps never fight here. Was here for about 4 hours with 2 groups of 5. I was the lowest (46 Paladin) of both grp's. Main tank in my grp was a 60 War. The drops we received were The Spaulders (VERY NICE and very rare) I was second highest roller =( . Also everyone received an Elemental Binder (Very Common), Few of the Loam Encrusted pieces and I believe 2 Smoldering Brands (I got one).

Friend sold a pair for 20k plus and Idol of the Thorned. Not sure what the Idol is worth but I'd guess with those awesome stats at least 10k.

Easy, they put the thing in their shoulder slot. Verant never claimed it was a GOOD idea for a monk to wear these. Just that they can.

This fine piece of armor dropped off a ratman last night in The Hole. Not sure if the ratman was a guard or warrior. We were pushing through with a 3 groups all in high 40's to mid 50's. Can't believe I won the roll out of about 10 folks. YEEEEEHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Love this game.

Not specific to Master Yael as detailed. Rare drop off elements (not sure which type) anywhere inside the castle.

I too will confirm they are random. For the longest time I heard they were dropped by the golems but never saw them, though I've slaughtered tons of golems. Today, as we headed towards the city, we killed a ratman warrior who dropped these shoulders. Go figure.

i got mine off a golem, we killed like 50 golems that day(long day) and only 1 shoulder droped, i hear its worth about 30k

I, too, got my Imbued Granite Shoulders off of a random Golem, very near the entrance. Right before you get to the courtyard of the first building you enter, you fight where there is a small "gully". Our puller pulled a Golem from the courtyard and it dropped these Awesome Shoulders. Although a bit heavy, nearly 20 stone, the AC and stats ROCK. I loan them to our guild tanks when we do Naggy or Vox (since I am too high for these 2 dragons), they love them. They say they help resist the castings from these two dragons immensely. Also, I wouldn't take 50K for them.
