These boots are now droppable as of the last patch.

This dropped off a reddish looking named slime in the sewers/planks area. I managed to win the roll :)
The AC is kinda stinky for a Shaman, but it's really nice to have when you have some downtime, or you dont have any mana regen in the group.
So, I'll swap them out with my Wolf Callers boots on those occasions. :)

You cant really say that this is an item no hybrid would wear. When in down time id use these in a heart beat for the extra 3 mana per tick.

Dropped of a brown slime (the most slime I saw was green) and the corpse was a 30 min one. Pretty deep into CT near the room with the Ring of Fire thing.

Yay, for *once*, an actual 'caster' item- something for all magic casters... but I'd doubt the hybrids would wear this because of the AC...

Want to bet? Mental clarity 1 by itself increased my exp gained per time unit by 10% since I no longer had to med at all since I regened enough mana standing to rebuff self haste and weapon enchantment, and occassional roots and stuns on mobs. When I solo I wear these boots over my 30 ac 5 dex 5 wis 30 hp 30 mana boots. In raids I wear them as well. Only time I wouldn't is when I'm MT and there is a full time healer in the group, or an enchanter when i won't run low on mana.
Weapon ratio, haste, flowing though, hp regen all come before AC for a smart hybrid.

Actually, when I group with my ranger friend, he usually wears mine, since I med most of the time and manage to go FM during fights traditionally, no loss for me, but it makes up for his snare casting and even occasional DD. He comes out of fights with more mana than he went in with, and is in love with them. I can definately see him buying a set when he gets up the money or begging to roll on it if we ever hold the camp.
I think every caster in the group would leave if that ranger won. FT is THE item effect for casters and with the rarity of the mob to spawn, I think you'd have some very pissed off players on your hands.

I could conceivably see a Bestlord wearing these, as their equipment doesn't have much AC in it anyways, and the rest of the stuff is great. I could also see a bard wearing them when soloing... no meditate (well ok... 1pt) so gotta rely solely on their songs, this would make that down time quicker. and of course, any of the Int or Wis pure casters would sell their right ear for these (maybe not clerics cause of the ac they could get elsewhere... but a cleric w/ faster mana regen is always a friend of mine!). just my thoughts
