	If it suddenly showed up at merchants, and seems useless, it's probably for a quest that requires smithing. Like the forging hammer (not smithy hammer). Or maybe they will finally add some new smithing recipes that are similar to the new tailoring. /em crosses his fingers.

	Actually this is the highest mana shoulder item in the game that I know of. Plus mana is the single most important stat for any wizard. Considering a wizard can max their int at 255 with 4 or 5 uber items. My point being, it is hardly vendor trash.

	Two slight oversights in your reasoning. First, sure a Ranger usually snares mobs unless they're sure they don't run, but they don't snare it 3 or 4 times during a fight. Second, Jolt spells aren't the b-all end-all in aggro management. And thirdly, a tank's job is NOT to keep aggro from everyone

	Is anybody else seeing a garbled picture? Anyway, the Ice Silk armor is made by killing Ice Burrowers in Western Wastes, and using their silks (in combination with a really high tailoring skill).

	Actually a vial of purified mana uses 4 rubies... but given everything else you need to get this the extra 400 plat that will cost you is really the least of your worries.

	They are reportedly tough to make even with 250 skill level. I have a char who has one and it took the 250 skill tailor 4 attempts before he succeeded. 6 ice burrower silks per attempt, the 4 rubies per attempt, plat thread per attempt... and like Kpak said, the time and pp it requires to get skill

	I don't think it'd be 40-50k ... 15-20k maybe... even with materials... I know several players with 250 tailor... I'm over 200 myself... it's like the acrylia cloaks and such... they started around 10k and now go for about 3-5... same will probably happen if stuff like this gets popular enough... j
