Don't be fooled by Razortooth's cute, guppy-like eyes or timid demeanor... this is a fish that deserves to be fried!

Many may remember the good ole days in a cave off Paludal Caverns there was a big fish stuck in the wall at around waist or face height. Took all of my toons through and leveled them up whacking on that fish with hands, weapons as did everyone I know!

One of the recent xpac advancement missions on Thuliasaur Island actually requires you to fish in that long pond very close to the ocean, just south of a giant village. The fish there are dark blue and UP so you can't just sit there and fish while ignoring what's going on around you. Doing this quest for all 6 of my box toons reminded me how crazily EQ manages fish agro. These fish don't exactly run up onto land (as some of them do in LOIO, as any druid epic quester would remember) but they do retain agro indefinitely and will whack you at times as you get CLOSE to the water. But by close I mean almost anywhere on the darn beach! If you end up with agro from a bunch of fish, they'll all pile up on the spot in the water closest to where you are on the sand, stacked so tightly you only see one rather "blurry" fish, and periodically take a whack at you at considerable range onto the sand. This makes it difficult for someone else to do the fishing part of their quest. The only solution is to clear agro.

Crazy fish!

I don't see them any more but a long time ago the sever I was on some peeps would announce Fishing Tournaments with some cool prizes. I finally found the time to go to one. my fishing skill was very low. Did the event did not win any thing but got skill ups was a little mad I did not get to keep my catch but maybe they were using the Tournament as a way to get high level skill-up maybe I thought at the time. I remember asking who won and what their fishing skill was. it was maxed. so still working on maxing mine some day before I do any more. -lol

Fishing at the raid

A long, long time ago on a sever far far aw.. er back around the Shadows of Luclin era my guild, The Brothers of Darkness on the Nameless Sever was raiding North ToV. Every time we neared Lord Koi's pond, my buddy, Donk the Chanter and I would whip out the fishing rods and fish, which would always get our guild leader, Xarton frothing at the mouth angry. Ahh how I miss the good times of ALL BOLD MANDATES TO STOP FISHING DURING A RAID... good times.

Ok, here's my fishy story.
My druid was born sometime around 2000 or 2001, and I remember that he had a lot of his port spells, so I'm guessing he was in his middle levels. I stocked him up with fish bait and foraged grubs (foraging druid of course), and took him across all of the old world zones in Odus, Antonica, and Faydwer. He fished in a body of water from each zone in each continent for a total of 10 skill points per zone. The math says that would have been 20 zones with a body of fishing water in it.

It kept me from getting too bored from fishing in the same spot all the time.
