I wholeheartedly hope there will never be a MCU - Amazing Spiderman - crossover. Can't understand the many people on the net getting ecstatic over this possibility.

Pretty sure the people getting excited wanted an Marvel version of Spiderman, which presumably would be better as it would be designed to fit well into the existing Marvel universe.

A surprising number of posts I read on the MCU Facebook page and on the MCU Subreddit seemed to be fine either way. Some even explicitly wanted the Amazing version in the MCU. Smiley: eek

I don't think the ASM spidey is "bad", just the movies themselves!

The thing is, I did not even dislike the movies. In fact I liked them better than the Raimi trilogy. Although that may be because I just can't stand Tobey Maguire. Garfield did it for me as Peter and as Spiderman

I want the Amazing Spiderman to be separate from the MCU only for continuitys sake. Not hating on Sonys movies or something like that.

I liked both the Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-Man movies, but I think Tobey was the better Peter while Garfield was the better Spider-Man. Tobey's Spider-Man was too quiet, and awkwardly stiff while moving and fighting and Garfield's Peter just never seemed all that intelligent or geeky. Neither movie really handled villain bloat very well.

Raimi's Spider-Man 2 is the best Spider-Man movie and anyone who disagrees with my opinion is wrong.

I suddenly really, really want a gay Gambit.

That's not about social justice. That's 100% personal.

Could have done without the whole train sequence.

While I'll agree the "Spider-Jesus" thing was a bit over the top, the rest of that sequence was ******* awesome.

One thing that bothers me about all this about the movies and the characters... X-men, Spider-man, and the Marvel groups are all forced to be separate in the movies. But then I turn on the TV on the weekends and I see:

Ultimate Spider-man, which contains everyone...

Since Bacon Cumbersome has been confirmed, there's a void in need of filling when it comes to random speculation and rumorizing the Dr Strange movie. Next up is The Ancient One. I still say I'd like James Hong.

Except didn't he give him a new/better Eye of Agamoto when he "graduated" and sent him on his way? Kinda got the impression he had a drawer full of them or something.

Excluding multiverse, alternate plains planes of existence, and counterfeits Eye of Agamotto is a unique macguffin. There's an Orb of Agamotto, which also* showed up briefly in the Thor movie for whatever reason.

* Didn't mean to make it sound like it was unique to the movie. The Orb is essentially a crystal ball in the books.

Strange (hah!). I could have sworn that in the early comics the eye was a round pendant thingie, and at some point he got a different one that was square with a round insert that the eye actually rested in. Maybe just an artwork change? Dunno.

Slightly related, I just saw this fan-made video of Marvels and DCs heroes going at each other.

Ugh, he has? That is a profound disappointment.
