My level 45 warrior bought the Fallen Shroud fo the Defender thinking this was the same as "Form of the Defender I" but it's not, this is basically version II. Just FYI. :)

The purpose of the "Screech" listed effect is to prevent stacking of the "Form of ..." effects.

All of the Plane of Time "Form of ..." effects have Screech(1) in slot 6. Originally, these "Form of ..." effects came with elemental illusions (for example, Form of Endurance from the Bertoxxulous drop Veil of the Inferno gave the user the appearance of a fire elemental). The illusions were the original means by which the stacking of these effects was prevented, as you cannot have multiple illusions in force at once.

When the illusions were removed from these items - which was necessary to enable these effects to stack with "normal" illusions - there needed to be a new way to control the stacking, which was done by the addition of an otherwise meaningless effect - "Screech".

I would much rather the illusion , frankly. Unfortunately nearly all click illusions seem to have been pretty much eliminated. Sadly.

Seems when I click this on my chanter, it increases my AC +70, does it matter what buffs I happen to have at the time I click it how much +AC benefits I get?

it actually gives 54 raw ac it would seem, so your def mod etc would increase this.
