An amazing spell indeed, but what I have found, if you cast this spell during combat, it's an creates an amazing amount of aggro....don't know why.
Doah, thanks.since it is an absorb damage spell it creates some aggro, Mobs don't like Rune spells , it's kinda like a heal to them so it causes some Hate generation

It says, if cast on another Soandso is surrounded in a force shield. Wizzies rarely get buffs for others. Can a wiz buff other with this component free spell. That would be awesome!
This spell is a must have in the Necro ******** It is componentless which means no more peridots for the shield.
I use it esp when I am selecting a dire charm pet in veksar. Since I dont have a pet up at the time (can't have two up), I cast DC on a sentry and if he is too high I have to FD before the force shield wears down too far. I recast it and try again on the next one.
This spell also blocks spell dmg like harm touchs etc. so you can see how usefull it is. BtW it is self only so dont try and ask a necro to cast it on you... wont stack with barrier of force cause we cant cast it on a wizard to begin with.

for the record, no Barrier of force and Force shield will not stack, so use epic when there is no BL around (for SD)

For wizards the spell by itself is worse than the Epic(Barrier of Force). But the one advantage that I tested out was Force Shield stacks with the beastlord buff, Spiritual Dominion which gives ~9hp/mana regen per tick while the wizard epic does not. In order to make it stack you need to cast Forceshield after the beastlord buff. So if you can find a beastlord, use this spell over wizard epic to get more mana regen!

this spell is a gift. i cant begin to describe how nice this spell is for soloing, let alone groups and raids. its 750 free hp of damage you can take, relatively low mana cost, has mana regen on it, AND costs nothing to cast. that last part is what really got me.. NO peridot. now if Veran.. err SOE will just remove the peridot costs from our 61+ pets...
